Digital-only release due out this summer.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment

Bandai Namco is bringing Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment to North America as a digital-only game this summer, the publisher announced.

A European release was not announced.

    Can’t wait

  • 罪罰

    Namco is on FIRE

  • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

Totally unexpected. Great news, even if digital-only.

Maybe fans can do something about it like they did with One Piece.

    • Zackasaur

I’d really like to see the fans fix that, yeah. I want to own a real copy.

  • Nightcore34

So far I’d say good job but if there’s no Europe release then I’d take that back. Not really caring much about digital only.

  • Duc PC-QB

You can enjoy watching Kirito’s harem now …

    in English !!!

  • Tony

“a digital-only game in North America and Europe in summer 2014″

“A European release was not announced”

    Hmmm? ^^

    • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

      It’s been fixed. Sorry =(

      • Tony

        Damn :D

  • Splinter

Just as I thought! Taiwan version was a hint.

Digital-only? No problem. The important thing is… IT’S COMING!

  • Zackasaur

I got REALLY excited. Then… Fucking digital only. :/

    • Zackasaur

I wonder how expensive a Taiwanese import is…

      • Eric Xin

If you are in NYC, $75 from Chinatown store. Otherwise, play-Asia list it as 60.

        • Zackasaur

Heh, I’m in Florida. Maybe I’ll wait for it to drop to $40.

  • Wolf Star

    “Digital only”
    At least it’s coming :)

  • AlphaSixNine

    HOLY SHIT.
Was playing a game on my Vita when I saw this, almost dropped it on the floor.

  • Ta23 Ta28

Considering the recent popularity of the anime in the west, could this be a killer app that would help Vita sales in America?

Anyway, I’m going the Sinon route. Best SAO girl is best.

    • Zackasaur

If it were seen as a killer app, they wouldn’t be hiding it behind digital prison. lol

      • Ta23 Ta28

I was under the impression that due to the popularity of SAO(though not huge as fuck popularity like DBZ or Naruto), it could warrant a physical release. Guess I was wrong.

I’ll still buy it, though(But first, I have to get a Vita). Can’t be helped.

  • Ta23 Ta28

    Wait, fuck, digital only?

    • 罪罰

Yes, you got the game. THE GAME.

      • Ta23 Ta28

        It can’t be helped.

        • Miguel Herasme Mejia

better than nothing right? i was planing to import the taiwan ver. but now i get a 100% english game so better get the NA one XD

      • Wolf Star

We are finnaly getting the game!! :) I’m buying it day 1. I’m using my Vita more now then my 3DS.

    • Eric Xin

People have to understand why a lot of firm do digital: They can’t afford the risk/cost to publish enough copies for physicals. The overhead for a Physical game are huge in comparison.

      • Zackasaur

The sales can also be huge in comparison. Niche Japanese game players are huge supporters of physical media.

        • Eric Xin

SAO isn’t even that well known in America. It just recently got a publisher like less than 3 month ago. Most of the water carrying was done by Baka-Tsuki translator group and other “free lancer” translator groups (for anime/manga), which isn’t a good meter for popularity.

          • Zackasaur

Sure, but much smaller companies like NISA localise much smaller IPs (Demon Gaze comes out today, for example) with physical copies. Hell, they even had a collector’s edition.

The reality is that Bamco are improving (actually localising!), but they still don’t quite GET us. This audience is very attached to physical releases.

            • Budgiecat

they probably assume we all love digital because of how more accepting it seems people in the West are with PSN and Live as opposed to the Japanese and their love of collecting….

          • Kaien

A good meter for popularity? On Nyaa Torrent the most downloaded SAO episode reached 275k mark.

            • Takane Shijou

That’s not exactly the way to measure popularity in a single area. Would’ve been easier to say the show aired in the U.S., and people are fairly aware of its existence.

            • Eric Xin

Oh yes, 275K people willing to pirate an episode. That say nothing of PURCHASE. Or if they own a VITA, or if you have the buying power.

              • Kaien
                • Eric Xin

Nice. Linking a generic term for a guy who does marketing and finance for a living.

All the popularity in the world means jack squat if no one publish it and making money off it. Plus, 275K is not even close to statistically significant. How many of those people

                  1) Own a vita.

                  2) Willing to/can afford to buy this game?

You will be lucky to have 5% of that figure answering yes to both.

Now, if this was China or Japan, where there is a local publisher, already published this franchise and already made a ton of money from it, then the decision and data become much clearer.

                  • Kaien

SAO fanbase is bigger than 275k (sadly).

I linked a generic term because my previous post was about popularity, I was not implying the number showed potential customers.

          • Elvick

I don’t think you understand the argument.

The primary audience on Vita is the type of people who would be watching SAO and other anime on Crunchyroll (which is now on Vita) or elsewhere.

They are also the type of people that will import games and Limited Editions/Collector’s Editions from Japan or another country just to get the physical goods.

Limited retail release to appease the core audience of your game is ideal. Nothing you say will change this. And niche publishers pushing out games at retail kind of destroy your argument about cost. Bamco is a little bigger than Aksys, Xseed, NISA, Natsume and Atlus.

            • Eric Xin

I like SAO and I don’t care about physical. I rather prefer digital as I have no need for random pictures cluttering up my house.

              So stop making blanket assumptions.

              • Elvick

No one was talking about removing digital.

                Shoo you derp.

          • Renaldi Saputra

but the facebook official page evn got 1.5m likes
I think it’s getting more like DBZ One Piece Naruto Bleach class

            • Eric Xin

LOL, it is no where near bleach/DBZ numbers. The ones you named has been around for DECADES. SAO just got its first English publisher. How well it sell would be the first data point companies can use to SAO material.

              • Renaldi Saputra

but weekly manga sales last week, SAO aincrad is number 3…

well, yeah, maybe those are mostly from outside US also there are much likes from Asia especially SEA, well not surprising indeed

but 1.5m likes within 1-2 years is just wow

        • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

          I don’t care really

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/playstationunity DXVII

Digital only is not smart, sorry but PS Vita memory cards aren’t getting any cheaper or larger eventually people who actually want a majority of these games can’t get them.

Also thanks to Sony’s idiotic move about not making it able to switch cards which would be a life-saver in this situation.

  • http://myanimelist.net/profile/chibuki chibuki

Think this one will have dual-audio?

    • http://twitter.com/GNPixie Lynx

      Probably Japanese only.

Namdai’s probably cheap to dub if its digital only.

    • Zackasaur

I’m not entirely sure that it has a dub. xD

  • new_tradition

    Holy crap o.o

DD sucks though. That 8gb card with the slim bundle isn’t gonna be enough in the long run D:

  • http://twitter.com/M_Demolish Demolish

    Ugh…i Hate Digital only.”

    • Eric Xin

It is very expensive to do physical only, you know…

      • Zackasaur

        Er, they should do both.

        • Elvick

Is there even a game not available on PSN for Vita?

I think there was one game that for some reason was delayed on PSN for a week or two after the retail copy was out already… I want to say it was Techna Tune… but I’m not positive.

      • crazyhunter

Why not a limited print? There is no excuse

        • Luna Kazemaru

because they don’t have to and that still would be pointless having copies sitting around

          • crazyhunter

Thats why its called limited no more than x amount and im sure the would have run out like in japan

            • Luna Kazemaru

Yeah because the west has the same following as Sao….right

              • Eric Xin

Or in China/Taiwan/HK triangle, for that matter. There are probably more Chinese SAO fans than Japan, if not the entire Japanese population.

        • Eric Xin

There is always risk of surplus copies unsold. And that cost a company money.

    • Luna Kazemaru

you where really expecting something other then digital with a SAO game….lol

  • Kiryu

And to the people who wonder why us gets Vita games digital only, look at US Vita sales. You only have yourself to blame folks.

    • 罪罰

      Shhhh.

    • FlareKnight

The people who bought a Vita are to blame ;)?

Plus not sure that actually matters. A good amount of games coming over from Japan to the PS3 digital only and pretty sure that system has sold well enough.

It’s more about the market for the game itself.

And probably should count it as NA sales. More countries over here than just the US after all.

      • Skerj

We are!! Even though I bought 2.

      • Kiryu

The Vita sells about 5000 a week,in no other region does it sell worse.Wii U sales are about 3 to 4 times higher in US with no software which is a mistery to me.

        • Elvick

yet One Piece: Unlimited World Red got a limited retail release for Vita (via EB/GS) while the Wii U remains digital only.

    • Eder García

SCEA is the one to blame imo

      • Giordan

        how?

    • Luna Kazemaru

how do you blame people that bought the system?

    • Elvick

So because I don’t buy a new Vita with every retail game… we don’t get retail games?

      lolwat

  • Sonneh

Hopefully we’ll see a physical release in Europe at least. Namco Bandai EU seems a bit better in that regard than Bamco US.

    • Zackasaur

Then I could import that instead of the Taiwanese one.

    • Elvick

I hope so, I’d import from them for sure. You guys got DBZ: Battle of Z at retail. How popular is SAO in Europe? That’ll probably determine it.

  • desponent

They’re killing it, my wallet that is.

    • Wolf Star

I preordered 4 games yesterday and that’s how my wallet will end up.

      • Samsara09

hey, mister wolf star! How good is this game?
I wanna blow my wallet with superb rpgs.Is this sword art online hollow fragment great?

  • http://twitter.com/matty_125 matty

    Isn’t it Bandai Namco now?
Anyway. We get this, but no word on a solid brand game, like… Never mind. Forget it.

Perhaps, though, this means the company is more open to localizing games. They are more open to Tales games now, at least.

  • https://twitter.com/Stealth___ Stealth

Digital only is a bit of a bummer, but I am still going to buy it. Vita is getting some really nice games.

    • Zackasaur

Digital-only is enough to turn me off of it. Maybe I’ll get the legit ownership edition from Taiwan…

    • MrFinalgamer

If this got localized, hopefully Digimon gets released too!

      • Zackasaur

        That would be crazy.

        • Renaldi Saputra

it’s not crazy, since digimon world trademark had been registered by Bamco last year

  • http://ryuz4ki57inenglish.wordpress.com/ Thomas FROEHLICHER

    Summer? Wow that’s hell fast!

  • DarthBrian

Well this makes me happy! ^_^

    mmmmmm…Leafa. <3

  • Takane Shijou

Wondering if this is going to be dubbed or subbed and such.

Still, pretty surprised it’s even coming over here.

    • Eder García

the game is coming this summer so… dubbed it’s impossible imo.

      • Duc PC-QB

Hope more Japan games will do this in the future, less time to localize.

        • Giordan

With subs? They’d have to license it.

  • http://Gematsu.com Vayne

Digital only? If the West let buying CoD, Battlefield and FIFA, who knows.

  • MrFinalgamer

Nice, can’t wait to play this, heck I’m shocked we’re getting a phys…
    *Download only*
Well shit…I guess it was either Tales or this for physical release, huh…

  • Anime10121

YES HYPE! Woulda preferred a physical release, but I’ll take this any way I can get it, as I NEVER expected a release in the west period (and who knows, if this sells well enough the next inevitable SAO game could get the physical LE treatment.

    • lordsofskulls

-.- i want to support the game, but i want the physical case…. @.@ i just buy both and call it a day….

  • HighBrowDrifter

Dear Mother of Odin…..Keep it up Sony/Bamco……phew…..my poor heart/wallet.

  • Renzouri

Whatever Sony’s doing to increase gamer interest on the PS Vita, it’s working.

    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

But will Vita have a good E3? I mean Tales of Hearts R, Sword Art Online, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Oreshika, and Freedom Wars already announced before June? What could they possibly be hiding for E3? Type 0?

      • SuperLuigi

I would flip tables in happiness if they announced Type 0. I would also feel bad for the fan translation that has been going on forever.

        • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

I’d like to say I’d feel bad but even they know it’s a good thing when an official translation is released. So yeah, let’s hope to flip tables in happiness then.

        • lordsofskulls

100% it coming especially if you look at the remade Musical Final Fantasy game has Type 0 added into it.

          • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

I do believe that Curtain Call isn’t a great measure of it’s localization chances. Rather, Tabata saying he wants it localized is a much better metric for success, combined with Shahid doing his work. Actually, in some sense I gotta say Shahid might be a bit better than Nintendo is, since Nintendo had to go out and publish the game themselves, whereas Sony didn’t have to publish Tales of Hearts R.

        • Zackasaur

There is no need to feel bad. The translators would see it as a success to have helped to make SE finally localise the game.

      • MrFinalgamer

I’d explode from happiness if Type-0 gets announced. fangasms, and everything! If VC3 gets announced along side it, I would almost turn off the stream since I couldn’t handle that much. If we only get VC3, i would still be overjoyed, but no fangasms to the extent of Type-0.
        tl;dr, BRING VC3, AND TYPE-0!

    • lordsofskulls

you mean how negelected the whole last generation of gaming with hardly any good JRPGs/RPGs and now they decided to bring every JRPG from japan. and everyone buying a copy of each one on day one?

      • Lara Croft

It was the same with PSP. It also didn’t get proper support till its second year. Better late than never.

        • lordsofskulls

I am just happy PS Vita Getting the love it should in first place. =3 I like Sony as a platform both console and handheld they always delivered awesome JRPG experience. :3

    • AdamBoy64

      I hear that.

I didn’t think much about purchasing a Vita up until a few days ago.
Decided I’d buy one for Tales of Hearts R, and this just comes along and seals the deal. Fantastic.

  • pixxxelz

I buy most of vita games digitally so this OK with me I hope the game isn’t too big tho..

    • Zackasaur

It’s probably going to be fairly large. 2-3 gigabytes, I would think.

      • pixxxelz

Yeah most likely, I still have a couple of GB’s free so I should be allright

  • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

OH man I was so excited to see this after feeling nervous about not seeing it. But…digital only? Le sigh, alright I’ll take it. I hope everyone else doesn’t hold out on this because of Digital either. If there’s enough interest, perhaps the sequel WILL get a physical release. I am happy to see that the little leak about Bandai’s Late april reveals was true though heheheh.

  • SuperLuigi

Idc if it’s digital only, dubs, subs, or anything. I am happy we are getting this and will be downloading day 1. Loved the show and wish there were english versions of the books.

    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Dude…there is english versions of the books. Yen Press has your back: http://www.amazon.ca/Sword-Art-Online-1-Aincrad/dp/0316371246

      • SuperLuigi

Holy crap you just made my day! Thanks!!!!!!

        • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Anytime…I need to pick up the book as well, ugh I hear there’s going to be a juicy sale in May for Vita games though, so I dunno…I’ll make it work somehow.

finally Namco start to care about vita T_T

      just need:
      God Eater 2
      One Piece Unlimited World RED
      Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth
      Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn
      tales of Innocence R
      Girls und Panzer

      And if Hell froze over:
      J-Stars Victory VS
      Super Robot Wars Z3
      Super Heroine Chronicle
      Madoka Magicka: The Battle Pentagram
      Gundam Breaker
Super Robot Wars Original Generations Saga: Lord of Elemental III – Pride of Justice

      • TheExile285

Unlimited Red is already confirmed for NA Vita and has a GS exclusive retail version :V

        • Elvick

          Which is AWESOME~

Wish they’d do that with SAO too. I’ve got One Piece preordered to support that decision. Hoping Hearts R comes up soon on EB Games so I can preorder that.

      • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Y’know, the Hell freezing over thing…I feel like J-Stars is a lot more possible now. Namco Bandai has the rights to all the major franchises game wise from Jump. There’s nobody to fight license wise. The ones they don’t have don’t have games in North america and Europe, so if anyone could pull this off, it’d be them (since NoA can’t commit to anything localization wise geez <<;) But uh let's see, Budgie since you're a bit lttp. We got Dynasty Warriors, We got One Piece, Girls Und Panzer seems closer to Hell froze over tier. I'm praying for God Eater 2 and Digimon as I think those are more likely…Madoka could get a PSN release honestly. Oh and Pride of Justice ran some reasonable results in the #jrpg poll on Twitter, so there's some hope there surprisingly.

        • Budgiecat

With Anime licensing, it has to do more with how far does the various U.S./EU Anime licence holder publishers of each individual Anime extend to; do they only go as far as Anime BR/DVD/tv/online streaming distribution, or does it also extend to game and toy rights etc. Some do, some don’t.

I know that back in the day, you could not release anything in the U.S. DBZ wise without Funimation getting a financial piece of it.

I knew because I actually contacted Funi’s lawyer on the phone once as he was headed on a flight who seemed a little .flustered to talk as he was in a rush.
Don’t even remember how I pulled that off lol

          • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

I’m quite aware of the bad licensing from back in the day but as I said, Namco Bandai litterally has the license for those series covered. They’ve got what’s known as the “Master of for Game distribution” Now though, thankfully; Japan got smarter. Instead of giving out the “Master of IP” license to one company, they just give what’s needed and make good money from it. This way, if someone wants a piece of the pie for something else, they can get it. I know Viz has the Master Miku license right now, funny enough xD There is another cost to consider though, which would be to get the voices and such and if there’s any specific contracts/licensing pertaining to the game itself. For example, Jump might have asked for a certain fee if Namco even “thought” to utilize the IP outside of Japan. And if those fees are > what the localization would make them, then it won’t happen no doubt =/ Of course, if Namco Bandai was as awesome as Capcom was back in the day, they’d definitely make it happen.

      • Giordan

        J-stars has licensing issues.

        • Budgiecat

          You have captain obvious issues…

          • Giordan

I just laugh in the face at those thinking we’ll get J-stars.

          • Renaldi Saputra

but I don’t think Bamco will do extreme things like licensing J-Stars characters

I know some characters are popular and maybe licensing from those series weren’t that hard…
but there are a lot of characters from other series that are even niche between shounen manga fans, say.. toriko, nisekoi, ueki, etc

      • MrFinalgamer

I’m really shocked they’re prioritizing SAO, but not GE2…

        • 罪罰

          >big anime franchise that’s airing in Toonami and has a huge fanbase

          >hunter game

          it’s easy, really.

      • novurdim

        >One Piece Unlimited World RED
erm, june 27-th, anyone? Also I’m pretty sure it was illogical to include J-stars in the second category (and even more so with putting Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn and GuP in the first), Banco already registered western domain name, it’s coming sooner or later.

      • Learii

ya they need to bring those

    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Shahid did some good work on them, clearly.

      • LordKaiser

The question is: Does he deserves the credit? It was confirmed 100% that he was involved?

        • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

No confirmation about SAO but I remember quite a few tweets asking for it even in #jrpgvita poll and when Gio was buildingthelist. Now, I won’t attribute much of that to TPP but rather Shahid and Adam working together, since it’s Namco Bandai US releasing SAO.

I’m a little disapponted about no european announcement: to tell the truth, I hadn’t hyped for this title so much, but, as a fan of the series, I’d have bought it sometime after launch. Maybe they are waiting for the anime to be broadcast all over Europe and be better known before any distribution of the game (though here in Italy is already on air)

    • Ladius

I doubt they would skip an European release for a game such as this, especially considering how much support they’ve given to European jrpg fans with their Tales releases. The only issues could be related to the SAO license in some European markets.

      • ヴィンチェンゾ Vincenzo

I didn’t think about an possible licensing issue; that’s a good point

  • Giordan

Now we only need God Eater 2… unless they’re making a Gods Eater Burst 2.

    • PrinceHeir

      Yes please!

God Eater 2 Burst would be amazing though!

    • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

The dlc isn’t finished in Japan, the mp patch is taking awhile

      • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

        I hope once the DLC is done and the patch is finished, that Burst is announced and primed for localization. And of course, that we get all the DLC this time ^^;

        • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

Yep :) I’m not sure if that’s the last dlc though but they could still announce localization

God Eater Burst was still getting dlc in Japan after it was released overseas I believe

          • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Yes it was actually T_T I think the biggest crux is not the DLC but the online honestly.

  • PrinceHeir

Finally some amazing JRPG Vita games!

    Thanks Namco!

Sure it sucks it’s only digital, but i’ve gotten used to buying digital games on Vita much more than PS3.

I hope they use the Japanese voices, with the look of things i’m sure it will ^^

Sony needs to lower the price of memory cards and offer a 124GiB for $59.99!!

    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

      Not happening xD re 124GiB at $59. You’ll pay $99 and you’ll like it ;-;
As far as the voice cast, considering it’s summer and the english version is going to air on Toonami…the logical conclusion would be for them to use both casts but I’d bet on the Japanese voices being used, no doubt.

      • Sevyne

Well to be fair, $99 for 128GB wouldn’t really be that bad. Know what bad is? $119 for 32GB (which is what they originally were), and 64GB for $99.

        • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

$99 for the 64GB is bad eh? Hmm I’m not familiar with normal SD Card prices so I was under the impression that it was a bit more reasonable, shame.

          • Sevyne

More reasonable than what they were doing before that? Sure. Reasonable enough that I’ll eventually get one? Sure. Reasonable in comparison to normal SD cards? Still not even close.

  • I-e-on

Getting the taiwanese limited edition just for physical tbh

  • Aaron Lee

Well if it’s going to be digital only, at least give PAL territories a bone here. I know it’s not too hard to do, but we shouldn’t be expected to do some unnecessary gymnastics to get our hands on NA things.

Still, very pleasant news. Don’t know as much about this as many others do, but I’m keeping my eyes on this. =)

  • tubers

great news! Day one for me :D

  • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Please stop the 3DS vs Vita comment wars. All of the comments that were flagged involving that discussion have been removed.

    • Budgiecat

      good

    • Elvick

      Darn, now I can’t read them. :P

    • Samsara09

thanks, sir Zero, for cleaning up the trash.

  • artemisthemp

Now we all wait on Namco announcing a Psychical release for EU :P

  • sunK1D

Now I regret selling my PSV. Good thing I kept my 32GB card.

  • LordKaiser

I will skip this game even if it comes to the west. I don’t want to see one of the best series devolving to harem crap. I tolerated many things on the anime that took many liberties from the visual novel.

I will keep an eye on this game but from far to see how it plays out.

    • Eric Xin

Unless you are blind, It was harem in the first place. In fact, there was a scene written by the author “There is one way and ultimate way” which is Kirito + Every heroine in the series, in a bed, in their underwear. This scene took place sometime after actualization story arc (since it include Eugene)

Asuna gave consent for all of them to “enjoy a married life together” since she didn’t consider it “cheating” as long as liberties are taken in “cyber space.” It was literally a “share a boy between friends” thing.

One could argue the video game let you dial things down by dating a different girl than the canon girl, rather than all 10 of them at the same time.

  • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

Just picked up the first light novel, crazy how it just came out today

    • Ta23 Ta28

The first volume cover will always be my favorite cover of the series.

      • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

        Nice, mine is volume 7

  • Elvick

    whhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat, so it was true.

Never expected that to be true.

Would have bought at retail to support. But it’s digital so meh. Not going to pay full retail for a digital release that I don’t really own.

    • 罪罰

      “that I don’t really own”
      :O

      • Elvick

If the PS Store servers go down at any time.

Goodbye “games I own”. You’d have to backup every single thing you ever bought, multiple times, just to be safe in having access to it forever.

        Same with other services.

        • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

Sony wouldn’t let that happen, especially now when every PS4 game is available for purchase on the PSN store

Pretty sure during their maintenance they back things up offsite

I still have access to games that I purchased day one from both Japanese and US PSN

        • AdamBoy64

Yeah, that’s a good point. I’m wary of using other online services, but for some reason I didn’t put PSN in the same basket.

          • Samsara09

if PSN went down with all the games people bought, people would mass boycott Sony. They are really gonna play nicely

  • AdamBoy64

Man, the Vita is coming out in full force.
    Great stuff.

  • Eric Pena

Yes yes yes yes yes yes.

  • http://chaosraiden.blogspot.com/ Chaos Raiden

Awesome. I hope it will be released in Asia as well.

    • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

      Taiwanese version May 29th

  • British_Otaku

The only part I’m surprised by is the digital only release. I know it’s being running since the 80s and somewhat of a cult hit since the 90s but is JoJo really more of a safe bet for a physical release, something that just got an TV anime running a few years, isn’t nearly as household as SAO for the west nor does it have an English dub or run on TV…

I guess Vita and North America are the mix which made them so cautious.
France will rage if this doesn’t get a retail release in Europe. :P

    • Unretributed

  • Willgaea

    I need a vita now.

  • Bobby Jennings

Wow, no need to import now.

  • Samsara09

    this is #jrpgvita for ya.
Or so they say.Man,is this game good? How so?I am getting a vita and need some recommendations for rpgs.

    • Kita

If you are familiar with SAO you’ll probably get more enjoyment out of this game than any other.
There’s a tales game coming in the fall.
And there is plenty of other games too.

  • Lara Croft

Keep it coming. Digital only sucks, but better than nothing.

  • http://www.santashi.com/ Santashi

Oops! My copy should arrive tomorrow. I had actually meant to cancel it because I’ve got a lot of games suddenly, but I forgot Amazon would ship earlyish. A localised release would probably have been cheaper but not to worry. I think I’ll still have fun!

  • Firaaero

Isn’t the Chinese Version gonna have English subs? I’m not sure how much is translated, but personally, i would get the Chinese version because of the Japanese Voice acting. (also i’m impatient ^_^)

  • Dokuro

    Yeah! digital only! hahaha

  • Van Sora

I’ll be getting chinese and snglish ver for hardcopy

  • xXDGFXx

Depending on what the Chinese version English subs are going to be like, I may or may not import. If I import, I’m not buying the localized version.

  • Wolf Star

Good for you :3 I’m just waiting for Smash 4 to come out this summer. I forgot about Prof Layton Vs Phenox wright, NA still hasn’t gotten it.

  • Zackasaur

    We’re shocked.

  • Ta23 Ta28

Really sounds like you’re displeased with seeing someone saying he/she is enjoying Vita more than 3DS, so you felt like you had to make an opposite comment.

    Son, you frustrated?

  • Eder García

    no

  • MrFinalgamer

    …She?

  • Altin

People like to “chan-ify” their consoles or belongings. My PS3 is a gentle old lady (Fat Model), whereas I tend to personify my Vita as a tsundere.
“It’s not like I want you to hold me in your hands, b-b-baka!”
(Just dont take this too seriously ;) )
