This is good. Hopefully I will buy this to make up for the One Piece Pirate Warriors games being released in a digital-only format in America.

So I guess Europe loves One Piece more than us, understandable. So long as we get the costumes and the quests anyway I’ll be fine.

So basically it has a story but also an unlimited exploration side, I wonder how far in the one piece story it goes.

It is basically “up to date” to the anime and manga in Dressrosa if you watch the trailer, though you shouldn’t expect more than Caesar Clown from Punk Hazard and many other arcs have no bosses or no acknowledgement at all. I wouldn’t use it to learn the story of One Piece.

If you played the Unlimited Adventure/Cruise games, you will find the exploration pretty shallow but the core of the games has usually been exploration with the story taking a backseat.

So far I’ve only played pirate warriors 1 so this type of development in this game is new to me.

Well, now I know when I’ll be disappearing from the public eye for a while…don’t miss me too much ,friends and family! Now, if only I could make up my mind about which console to pick it for….

… So they screwed up with the DLC for the release in Europe as well… I think I’ll enjoy my patch for the Japanese 3DS version and pick up the normal edition of this…

Just to make this clear for you new folks:

    1) The “exclusive costumes” in the Straw Hat edition which were all free for the Japanese 3DS version. The Strong World costume (assuming it is the adventure costume not suit) was a free preorder before and the 15th Anniversary nine costumes were 100% free from the start with no set date for any cost.

    2) The Straw Hat edition’s exclusive Ace battle isn’t awful, but it isn’t worth your money either. It was part of the free preorder back in the day and incredibly short in comparison to either the story or main quest even if it can be replayed or tackled with friends. And it will be one of the few places where you can play as Ace.

    3) I have no idea what they mean by “Day 1 Edition” for Chopper, presumably both as Limited Editions should be that but Japan had all of the Luffy edition by default. Otherwise, the game content of Chopper’s edition was exclusive to folks who got the code from a V-Jump manual (probably short as well, the time limit is always 40 minutes to do what often takes 10 or less if it isn’t tedious – as a fishing mission what do you expect >_>) which came with Sanji’s casual costume DLC.

In short, I disliked the initial distribution of content and you can either look forward to being nickled and dimed or missing out on content. Out of the two evils, I would probably go for the cheapest one, but I would like costumes over meh quests even if I like collecting physical clutter.

Oh and Red sounds incredibly strange in the trailer, like they recorded all of his lines with less charisma… Odd as he sounds like the original Japanese trailers in the Japanese game.
