Nippon Ichi’s Hayarigami April Fools’ site is getting foggy

April Fools' Day joke leading to new title announcement?

On April 1, Nippon Ichi Software launched a teaser website for Shin Hayarikami, a cute game version of its horror adventure sound noel series Hayarigami.

April Fools’ Day has come and gone, but there still appears to be some activity on the teaser website. Over the past few days, the website has been getting foggier, eventually adding gunshots to the mix.

Could this joke have been an elaborate way to announce a new Hayarigami title? The latest entry in the series, Hayarigami 3: Keishichou Kaii Jiken Fuke, launched for PSP and DS in 2009. An iPad game, Gendai Ibun Hayarigami, launched in 2010.
