Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

Konami has released new images and footage of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, showing Camp Omega, concept art, and the iDROID smartphone app.

The iDROID smartphone app is a second-screen experience that replicates Big Boss’ in-game communication and map device. It will be available on iOS, Android, and Smart Glass devices free of charge, and can be used to call up maps, summon air support, or play cassette tapes found throughout the games.

Additionally, Konami announced that PlayStation Store pre-orders for the PlayStation 3 version of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will include a free digital copy of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD.

    Nice incentive?

Makes sense since its the direct prequel to it

Next, Nintendo will have their new installment of Zelda ready, and they will be offering The Faces of Evil and The Wand of Gamelon free to anyone who pre-orders on the eShop xD

Thats a very tempting deal. Unfortunately I have like 3 copies of peace walker already XD. (1 collector’s edition, 1 collector’s edition psp bundle, and 1 HD version).

    Truck go booooooommm!

This is not MGS. You do not run out and shoot up everything in sight. Sigh. I will be getting it only because there is nothing else out and I am trading it some games anyway.

But there was always the option to chose to..

MGS was never truly meant to be an all sneak and avoid combat at all costs series. This has been shown pretty well too with how the titles have begun to change their combat structure even since MGS3. Sneaking is the main course of action, but it is not the only one, nor is it the only viable one in completing the game. Infact, most of the games gave different reactions purposely to allow people to choose which course they wanted to go through in the game, and to me it looks like MGSV beautifully combines the two into one. I wouldn’t want to spend every single moment in such a big, open world doing nothing but sneaking and quiet take downs. I want real espionage action like was shown in this video, setting up explosive devices to set off surprise attacks and infiltrate during the chaos and rip a base apart from within. That right there is something amazing in itself to be able to have in a video game and I’m really looking forward to that.

Well the beauty of the MGS games so far is that you can choose to go silent if you want. This player is just more aggressive.

Well played Snake, now you need another chopper.

The more I see of MGS Ground Zeroes, the less I see it as 40USD for a 2 hour long mission and more as 40USD for a giant MGS sandbox where I can do whatever the hell I want with Snake. And that sounds awesome!
