Kingdom Under Fire II

Blueside has released a new character customization trailer and screenshots for Kingdom Under Fire II.

In the PlayStation 4 and PC-bound sequel, players are offered a “much more advanced character customization system compared to conventional MMOs,” according to Blueside. Players can choose various types of base face models, then customize their shape, skin color, tattoos, hair style, scars, and so on.

Armors with ability options are formed as shoulder pads, tops, bottoms, boots, and gloves in both traditional and casual armor types. Depending on in-game cultural difference, there will be different styles of costumes.

I’m REALLY looking forward to this, I love the series

The customization setup reminds me of Blade and Soul

    • Dystopiq

I wonder if NCsoft will have anything to say regarding that at GDC. It’s been over a year since we last heard anything regarding the localization.

      • Luna Kazemaru

Don’t see Blade and soul happening anymore NCsoft been dumping all their time and money into carbine for wildstar

        • 武神水樹

it actually just launched in Japan and they said they’re taking to places like Russia next

      • 武神水樹

Blade and Soul won’t be out in the west if at all till one or two more years

Don’t let that stop you though, there’s supposed to be an English patch similar to the one TERA had for Korean VO’s

        • Dystopiq

BnS isn’t a game you play with high ping. The combat is too fast paced for that.

      • rurifan

There’s a Blade and Soul anime coming out, maybe the increased exposure will help chances.

        • Dystopiq

I’ve seen the trailer for it. From what I’ve gathered I got a Queen’s Blade vibe from it. And that’s not good.

          • rurifan

            “Increased exposure” indeed. :)

            • Dystopiq

  • Aleksandrina

I need this game in my life! Also, the girl on the picture totally has Inphyy’s hairstyle from the first Ninety Nine Nights game. Can’t wait!

  • Luna Kazemaru

I think i got an invite to the bta once but just didnt go

  • Dystopiq

I don’t care if I can make the perfect waifu. How is the game? That is what I care about. Are there things to do? Will I get nickled and dimed by the developer?

    • 武神水樹

Don’t know how this game is but KUF rocks

      • Dystopiq

I’ve played the earlier games. They were fun.

        • 武神水樹

Bone Dragon , that is all

  • sunK1D

I’ve been waiting for this game since 2008……. 6 years later and still nothing. Aion came and went, Tera came and went, now BnS will probably arrive in the west before We even get the next batch of screenshots for KUF2….

    • DrForbidden

Kingdom Under Fire II: coming soon to PS5!

  • rurifan

Glad to see these developers haven’t caved in to the game industry’s trendy pearl-clutching.

The females are sexy, and the dudes are badass. This is the kind of fantasy world most of us want. :)

    • TetsuyaHikari

Er… Isn’t that exactly what the game industry has been doing? Making the dudes badass and the females sexy, I mean. The gaming industry as a whole has caused a lot of conflict among sexists because of this :p

      • raven772

Who cares what sexists think. Let whoever create whatever and we will all buy whatever interests us.

        • TetsuyaHikari

Ummm… Sexists care what sexists think? Anyway, I agree with you, but I do understand them not wanting to simply have every form of entertainment have females shown as if they’re nothing more than sex objects. Personally, I don’t like my females in games like that too much, honestly.

Sure, sometimes I’ll put them in a bikini or something temporarily because it’s funny and doesn’t even fit with the environment (looking at you Tales of, lol), but overall… I’d prefer them to be more clothed or at the very least, look reasonably dressed.

  • TetsuyaHikari

    >Players can choose various types of base face models, then customize their shape, skin color, tattoos, hair style, scars, and so on

Welcome to PSO2, Kingdom Under Fire II. This isn’t new, so I don’t know why you guys are bragging.

    • Skerj

Yeah that game’s character creation is criminally underrated, I only see it bested by APB.

  • 武神水樹

A PS4 beta was confirmed by their Facebook page, they’ve been doing beta tests on PC

  • TetsuyaHikari

One thing that has always bothered me about these games is the lack of more armour for females. I also noticed it in the video too… 80%+ of the female’s gear shows cleavage, underboob, sideboob, etc. or lots of leg. I get it, she’s a female, now how about giving me options to put her in more armour too?

I just tend to prefer my characters dressed in more clothing and such, rather than being exposed, so it sucks when you have males get all of these cool breastplates and such, but does the female get an equivalent of it? Nope. Well, maybe when it actually comes out, I can see some decent setups for what I want, but right now… I’m just seeing mostly scantily clad outfits for the female, unfortunately.

    • DrForbidden

Pursuant to that, I’d also like to see more scanty armour ooption for males…

      • TetsuyaHikari

That would make things a bit more balanced, yeah.

        • 武神水樹

          Screw balance, chaos shall reign

    • TrueDefault

Yeah. I prefer badass female characters who look like they can kick my butt.

    • Budgiecat

      raging feminist! :P

      • TetsuyaHikari

        No, I just like my females to look badass ;w;

My interest basically stemmed from Saber in Fate/Stay Night. I really like her default outfit as it really has a sort of elegance to it while the armour (like the greaves and breastplate in particular) make her look badass. I’m just not really fond of the dainty, frail, Mary Sue types that look like they would snap like a twig if you hugged them too hard =3=

    • Zefhar

Videogame logic: female defense stats are inversely proportional to armor coverage.

  • 武神水樹

Still can’t believe this game is coming to PS4 baby

  • Zazon Zenzy

PSO2 must be laughing that this game lacks destruction of body proportion. I’d say that all things that KUFII’s character customization provide have been done in PSO2 already.

Come on, destroying proportions is priceless.

    • Karl Josef

But character models are better on korean mmo’s :D

  • Renaldi Saputra
  • artemisthemp

Hopefully they didn’t spend all the money on Boob physics :P

  • Cursingcomet

Those damn boob physics has finally gave me a reason to play as a female character.
