      Sony is finished.

      • True Gamer

That is a bodacious comment lol

  • bloodiOS

About what I expected from an inFAMOUS game.

  • Zancrow

    lol 4Players. Unconformist as always.
Anyway, looks good. Will definitely play this sometime in the future.

  • 武神水樹

I’ll be getting this but later on

  • True Gamer

I dont know why I was so nervous about this games review -_- But now I am even more satisfied with my decision to pre-order the game today ^_^

  • DarthBrian

Sessler’s review seems a bit off to me. Like, everything he’s talking about makes it sound like a good inFamous game. Not sure what else he expected from it. inFamous is an open-world super hero game. How else is that supposed to play other than running around and taking care of business?

Guess I’ll figure it out when I get a chance to play it. Between finishing Lightning Returns and now FFX, I don’t know when I’m gonna have a chance to play this. Should probably cancel my pre-order and get it later. :p

    • Sal Romano

Lots of people are talking about his review, but I haven’t been able to watch it. What are his main issues?

      • DarthBrian

Well, he’s describing an inFamous game. He says it’s pretty much the same mission types over and over, little variety in enemies other than some take more damage than others and deal more damage. Sounds like the last two games to me, right?
He also says that the city of Seattle isn’t as good as previous cities which had more character in them. He clarifies he means in-game Seattle, not real life Seattle. That’s the other main point he makes from what I remember. watched it like an hour ago so I don’t remember everything he said. :p

        • McPoo

To be fair, previous games being repetitive isn’t a reason to give Second Son a pass for being reptitive.

          • Elvick

But I never felt either were repetitive.

            • McPoo

I don’t know if I found them repetitive, I’ve always found them fairly boring though. Decent quality and all, but just a bit dull.

A 7/10 series. Although I’d like to try the smaller downloadable game.

              • Elvick

That has the best power in it. ;3

As for you finding them boring, to each their own. I find Elder Scrolls boring as sin, but people spend 80+ hours on those games.

                • McPoo

True. I think it was bad timing as well that ruined InFamous 1. I think it came out the same time as Prototype, and for me there was no competition there. Cole felt so weak in the Infamous games, which was one of the main problems.

Is the power something to do with turning into a group of bats or something?

                  • Elvick

Yeah, and you can essentially fly through the entire overworld with it. It’s awesome. Upgraded fully, you can pretty much fly all you want. It’s awesome.

                    • McPoo

Ah that does sound good. I never liked the movement in those games, getting around the city seemed too slow. I liked the free running and that, it just didn’t get me around quick enough. Flight would be good, and being a swarm of bats sounds cool too :p

                    • SuperLuigi

The movement in festival of blood is pretty sweet. It is REALLY short but I liked the atmosphere and the villian. The audio file things were really interesting to me unlike infamous 2. I liked 1s though.

                    • McPoo

It gets put on sale like 3 or 4 times a year so I’ll pick it up next time :)

          • Budgiecat

If its not expanding and improving on the formula…..

        • Budgiecat

So its not a true sandbox? Just an unlively open world like Just Cause?

I’d wager thats enough to bring some points down.

By now you should be able to fully interact with your world other than just engaging with enemies.

Could you imagine if Yakuza was like that?

        • Willgaea

He also wanted more cut scenes. He had the same gripe in the game “rage”. Awesome story telling at the beginning, but it kinda went down hill towards the end.

    • Elvick

Reviewers like that are bad at their jobs.

I wish these sites cared more about quality writers, but they probably purposefully try to get people to do shitty reviews for fanboy wars in the comments to commence.

edit; by shitty reviews, I mean the content itself. Not the scores.

  • SuperLuigi

Nice! Infamous 2 was easily one of my favorite games of last gen.

  • DarthNemesis

These reviews are good (not that reviews matter). This is what I expected and I will enjoy it just like the first 2.

    • Locksus

What the hell are you on about?
Oh god, it hurts to live after reading all your comments
      “b-but Xbox fans did this!”

      • Al Buns

I was speaking from general sites.Ignore my comments as I normally ignore yours.

        • Zero

I figured as much. We ask that you please don’t bring that here.

If people are posting fanboy/flame war junk on other websites, that’s for those websites to handle. Keep those types of discussions on said websites, please.

          • DarthNemesis

            Will do.

    • bloodiOS

Well, I don’t see any of those pathetic fans here…

      • Al Buns

        Good for you.

        • bloodiOS

So yeah, there are douchebags everywhere but as long that they aren’t here, why brought it up?

          • DarthNemesis

It is a discussion board and I am discussing LOL.

            • bloodiOS

Except that you were discussing something that is completely irrelevant to the topic at hands. You could’ve just brought your off-topic discussion to the Open Forum.

    • SuperLuigi

Dude what the heck are you talking about? I am 80% sure I am the only frequent user on this site that owns and xb1 and I am happy that this game is getting good reviews. The same could be said elsewhere about ps only fans with the titanfall reviews the other day btw. Heck even on this site there was some claiming all the titanfall reviews were “paid”.

      • Al Buns

I was not talking about you or anyone on this site so calm down.

        • Zero

First things first. How was anyone supposed to know this account and Darth was both you?

          I know because I’m a moderator.

Read my post above for my thoughts.

      • BossTuff

Your percentage is a bit off. :) Loves me some Titanfall on the XBO.

I’m glad this game is getting some good reviews too, it means that the hard work Suckerpunch put into the game actually was worth something.

        • SuperLuigi

Sorry. That’s why it wasn’t 100% lol. Glad you are enjoying urs too.

    • Zero

I removed the silly xbox fanboy thing part of your post. It’s off topic and pretty much flame bait. Please, don’t post stuff like that. Thanks.

      • Al Buns

        Was not flame but whatever

        • Locksus

“Xbox fans sure at pathetic! Oh, they suck so much!”
          Seriously, that’s flame bait.

          • DarthNemesis

Nah just the truth, but its over now.

        • Zero

I’m responding because it’s pretty obvious you haven’t read the guidelines lately.

That type of response tells me two things.

          A. You didn’t learn anything from my response.

          B. You pretty much don’t give a s***.

I was polite with my reply…

Like Locksus posted, it’s pretty easy to see how it could be considered flame bait.

The “xbox fans” part of your reply was unnecessary.

In our guidelines we express how we very much frown upon these types of comments. It even says it doesn’t add anything to the discussion.

Truth be told, it typically does add something. That something is not what we are looking for here. That something is a flame war, troll fest, etc.

I really shouldn’t have to explain it anymore. My point is – You might not see it the same way we do, that’s fine.

Still, we ask that you follow our guidelines posting here. It’s not asking much, and we are quite lenient with them.

          Thanks for understanding.

          • DarthNemesis

A lot of what is posted in these comments are unnecessary, but you choose to mod when you want and not be consistent.
No prob with it, but be consistent. I did not refer to another poster which would make it flame bait, but continue on. :)

            • Zero

The bait part is a key word. You don’t have to refer to anyone. The bait part of it is bound to get a response. Resulting in the type of discussion we frown upon.

This is me trying to prevent that. I could have just removed or edited the post with 0 explanation. I don’t like to do that, and I’ve always been consistent in that regard.

I don’t remove or moderate comments unless they clash with our guidelines in some way.

When that does happen. I try my best to explain why a comment was moderated etc.

Yes, I might let off topic stuff slide by. Which is part of us not treating our guidelines like laws, not being strict with them.

What type of off topic stuff is allowed to slide by does vary. I’m not looking to stop a pleasant discussion over it being off topic most of the time.

Sure, I do choose to mod when I want. It’s like I said though, I only act when I feel it’s necessary. I might miss some stuff, I’m not perfect.

In this case, I saw a post where part of it clashed with several of our guidelines. I decided to act on that.

I try my best to be consistent. I appreciate the “feedback” though. If that’s what it truly was.

  • shogunknight

It seems like review scores of 8 are now deemed average to gamers. Sad what reviews are turning gamers into

  • 武神水樹

Dam no one has any launch deals

  • hush404

I want this game sooo bad… but won’t have the money for it. Ack.

  • Elvick

Some of the reviews (including ones on metacritic not here) are retarded.

“The graphics are a great advert for the power of the PlayStation 4, but in terms of gameplay and story this hasn’t moved on at all from the previous generation.” (60: Metro GameCentral)

Ugh, the idea that “next generation” games will somehow transcend gaming is ludicrous. I bet if GTAVI came out already and was pretty much the same game as GTAV they wouldn’t care about it.

High profile games always get a pass on their bad justifications/arguments.

    • BossTuff

InFamous isn’t considered high profile? Not saying that I disagree with your comments about GTA, but I think InFamous is pretty up there for being recognized as a high profile IP, at least Sony invested in it as such. I saw a couple commercials for it today while watching March madness at lunch.

      • Elvick

Not really. It’s more middleground. Sure, it’s high profile to PlayStation gamers. But if you go ask the public about it, how many are going to actually know what it is?

That’s what I mean by “high profile”.

      • LordKaiser

inFamous is what many call a AA title.

      • Impressionnant

The Infamous series was pretty low-key, until Second Son. If it wasn’t the first major PS4 game, and didn’t have Troy Baker, then the public, most likely, wouldn’t’ve cared about it. It’s always been my favourite non-dead Western series, though.

      • JuhRo

High Profile = Anyone and their parents around the local mall would know about it. Call of Duty, Halo, World of Warcraft, etc.

    • Mark Langston

Agreed. I believe we’ll have to wait at least two years before we see truly transformative gaming experiences that are more than just extra fluff and flair but actually shift the gaming landscape.

Although I’m more of a Sony boy the upcoming XB1 exclusive “Quantum Break” looks like a step in that direction in terms of a truly next-generation gaming experience by adding an accompanying TV show to the mix.

The project is insanely ambitious and it could backfire hard as a new TV show in and of itself is hard enough (I love “Almost Human” but there’s rumors that it’ll be canceled…and that show it awesome) but trying to connect a brand new IP into the mix only increases the chances of failure.

Based on the graphics alone it looks ree-donk-u-lous and could be a system seller if the connection between the TV show and the game are done right.

  • blank059

The games looks more fun and faster than the first two.

  • FlareKnight

    Seems fine to me.

Too much gets made up of the individual scores and not what is actually said about the games. Sounds like they put together a fun game. Of course I won’t be able to confirm that for several months until I find some money to actually pick up a PS4, but oh well.

  • Learii

lol Kotaku YES! YES! YES! YES!

  • Zukato

In essence, yeah, it’s a good game.

  • BossTuff

That seems like fuzzy math to me, 3/5 should be 6/10.

  • LordKaiser

That’s not how it works. Math is unrelated to this, 0/5 Horrible, 1/5 bad, 2/5 average 3/5 good, 4/5 great, 5/5 exellent. Things may change if they use decimals.

  • BossTuff

That is how it works. Using logic, a 3/5 is an “average game”, so a 6/10 should also be “average”. You can’t just say a 3/5 is just as good as a 8/10 because it doesn’t work that way. An 8/10 doesn’t mean average, it means great, which would line up with 4/5.

  • LordKaiser

It depends on the website interpretation too. The website rpgamer rates 3/5 or 3.5/5 as a good game. Anyway I care less about the specifics on how they rate it or if math is even used as any website can do the ratings how they see fit.

My point is that 3/5 is not bad as many see games on 3/5 as not worth playing.

Ok fine let’s say it’s 7/10 or 6/10 (point remains anyways), still not a bad game. I pity the people who:

    1- See only 1 review.
2- Only play titles 8/10 or more and bash 7/10, titles without even playing them.
