First look at PS Vita's new free-to-play game.

Rebellion Run: Dash or Capture

PlanetG has released the first trailer for Rebellion Run: Dash or Capture, its free-to-play PS Vita game due out on February 27 in Japan.

The game revolves around the digital sport of “Dash,” in which one player is the Esapee fleeing with a suitcase, while the other players are Trackers in pursuit of it.

Watch the trailer below.

I can see why they didn’t share any media until after they had recruited beta testers …

If Picotto Knights failed, this won’t do any better since it looks significantly worse.

Still annoyed Picotto Knights didn’t come over. I bet it would have done pretty well over here and maybe it’d still be running.

    • Dede Ogbe

I feel Picotto Knights came way too early in the Vita’s life cycle. It may have done much better if it was released later, when things finally kicked off for the system.

That and I would think that Dragon’s Crown would have something to do with Picotto Knights failure.

  • bloodiOS

Well, since it’s free and all, I suppose it might be fun when I’m bored…

    Cmon Vita

you can do better than this…

Someone send Total Biscuit, Angry Joe, etc to Sony to explain why the Vita isn’t doing well.

    • Altin

Total Biscuit would whine about having his commentary taken down and Angry Joe?
      “7 DOLLARS!!!!!”

      • Guest

they are among the best people to explain to Sony why these don’t work well.

besides, i don’t see you having a massive fanbase to back up your opinion.

        • Altin

The best people to explain to? For real? xDD

Just because they happen to have lots of sheep following them doesn’t mean that their knowledge means jack point sh*t. But then again, I have to think that you are actually serious and I really feel sorry for you. If someone should explain their opinion to Sony, it should be the fans themself and not some whiny E-Celebrity who probably takes money first and asks questions later.

Some of you need to chill the f*ck out. It’s a free to play game. It’s not supposed to be a high budget, triple A title for God’s sake.

    • Kayseur

Yeah, that’s the problem. People would rather see devs taking their time for paid games that would take advantage of the Vita’s hardware. It’s fun as it is, but there’s unexploited potential since they did take their time to make a game, but made it free.

That being said, it’s PlanetG we’re talking about. A new game company as far as I know, so they wouldn’t have the budget for a AAA title (or even an A title). So in a way it is true there’s nothing to cry over, however why people are doing so is because other PlanetG’s titles had not received that kind of advertisement (they were on Vita as well).
And thus weren’t expecting anything. But PlanetG didn’t change anything neither, they made the same kind of fun game they wanted to, and they wanted their game to reach a wider audience.

So yes, I agree with you, let’s just all chill out.

I don’t find it being low budget offensive, but I don’t believe free-to-play games should have a pass for low budgets. So much money comes out of the free-to-play market, and so little developers try to make the titles look better than flash games.

      • Elvick

Not all the developers of F2P games are uber successful you know.

No wonder it’s F2P, lol. It didn’t hurt to sign up for the free stuff, but I think I’ll be passing on this one after all.

  • kurosan9712

It actually looks fun, guys. You really need to lower your expectations for F2P titles.

    And really, it looks fun.

I can’t unsee the TWEWYness ;-; Looks fun though, hopefully F2P on Vita takes off and allows for Vita to at least capture more Japanese Mobile projects.
