Unless they start doing some SERIOUS advertising on this thing… I can smell the flop :(

(looks interesting to me, but I need to know more)

Ghost Trick (which had a similar premise) turned out well for Capcom, but perhaps that was just because of the crazy Shu Takumi/Ace Attorney fanbase rather than direct marketing for it.

If you have a DS/i/3DS or smartphone, you should look into playing that as well.

But Ghost Trick didnt have high quality “OMGZGRAFICS1!1” either (had some great art though).

But yeah, I’ve got Ghost Trick (havent played much yet though)…

Give it another spin, I would say it is the best work Shu Takumi has put together and I played the first Ace Attorney trilogy… The puzzles, music and writing are amazingly well done, with only one blemish which you might not encounter.

Oh, I’m not saying Ghost Trick wasnt a good game, as I’ve heard it was just the opposite. What I’m saying is that even though GT and M:SS share “similar” premises, you can tell that M:SS cost MUCH more to make, and therefore, would need far more copies sold/shipped to break even. Thus my suspicions that it’ll flop once it drops.

I just meant for you to finish it sometime soon, sometimes I need a right kick to finish something in my backlog. I’ve been on Episode 16 or something of Gurren Lagann (only 27 episodes methinks) for nearly a year and I borrowed the DVDs from a friend. >_>

I can see that this is higher budget and runs the risk of selling too poorly to make the money back, especially as a new IP at the tail end of a generation.

No 8th-gen ports couples with lacklustre advertisement efforts… I hate to see where this is going.

haha, that game came out of nowhere.

Forgot about this game. Love the art-direction, and the concept of solving the dead’s mysteries (as side-quests) is really interesting.
Unfortunately I’ve moved far, far away from games more about story-telling rather than gameplay, so I’m probably going to wait for either player opinions, or down-the-road bargain bin when I’ve restored interest in these titles again.

For narrative driven games, it is best to stay away not to get spoiled on the plot details anyway and jump on the train when you know that the writers carved up a masterpiece either through word of mouth or consistently good output in the field (see Ace Attorney series).

I can’t say I’ll preorder it or have it in the first week, but it likewise has my interest.

Wasn’t this confirmed for NextGen as well?

    • artemisthemp

Xbox One yes, but PS4 still wait on Confirmation

  • Michael Garling

Wait, this is releasing in only a few months? Have we even seen gameplay yet?

    I smell a delay.
