This reminds me that I really gotta try to find an arcade with some good games >.>

If you’re outside of Southeast Asia, good luck with that. Chinatown Fair — a historical fucking monument! — closed down in NYC a few years ago, so I’ve got nothing around me… yeah, their Melty Blood cab was always abandoned, and the Guilty Gear cab always had broken buttons on the 1P side because it was right next to the DDR machine and people would always put their bags on it… but you can’t find that sort of machinery in the States much these days. And I only went like three times right before it closed…

I travel between Chicago, LA (mainly but technically a few cities in Cali), Atlanta, and Jacksonville. Haven’t found a single decent arcade yet, but to be fair I haven’t been free for long enough to do some serious exploring. Chicago’s an exception since I grew up there but the only arcade close to my house was closed down exactly two weeks after I found out about it. Go figure.

        • Solomon_Kano

Jacksonville is a graveyard in that regard, sadly. Unless you’re satisfied by Dave and Buster’s, but they don’t really have much.

Man, Ishiwatari hasn’t lost his touch. It kind of resembles art from Guilty Gear X, except in reverse — coincidence or deliberate?

    • gulabjamal

Definitely on purpose. Man this looks amazing

  • Eder García

my new cellphone wallpaper just arrived :)

  • dark-kyon

awesome art, arksys is gonna save us of capcom and his awful looking fighters games.i can no wait to see the story mode what this game gonna get.

  • Gariya

    Man, Ishiwatari sure can draw.

    • TetsuyaHikari

He can voice act and make music too :3

  • 武神水樹

Feels like I’m going back in the series abit with this game but I think they’re rebooting the series for another generation of fighting game fans

    So many missing characters

    • icecoffemix

Well, it’s an entirely new engine and probably an uncharted territory for them with the game being in 3D. Also, why release them all when you can rerererelease updated version later?

      • 武神水樹

        Ya true

    • PrinceHeir

well it’s not really a reboot since it takes place a year after GG2.

i would say this is a fresh start for the franchise, reintroduced all those amazing characters they have one by one in a timely fashion.

sure it sucks we have to wait, but that’s probably the strategy they’ll be using in order to keep themselves afloat as well as interest for the fans.

  • Gyro Zeppeli

Good god yes, it feels so good to see Ishiwatari art after all those years of Blazblue.

    • $18114340

Well, he DID do the character select art for Continuum Shift.

      • TokkanRAM

No. That was Yuuki Katou who did Continuum Shift’s character select art.

  • Aleksandrina

    I LOVE Ishiwatari’s illustrations. They’re so beautiful.

Can’t wait for the console version, and Bridget. ♥

  • Gojira Twit

LOL in the thumbnail I thought Sol’s bicep was someone’s butt

  • Lelouch Vi Britannia

Ultra SFIV take a back seat and let Guilty Gear Xrd show you how fast paced fighters are done.

  • Oniros

My hype is through the roof. I can’t wait for this and P4U2!

  • tokyobassist

So the PS3 version with free online play or the PS4 version to actually make use of the system but has a paywall for netplay.

    Decisions decisions….
