These colors are awful vibrant. I think I really like it, but it depends on how they’re used. I rather like when strong hues of powerful colors are placed atop grim and dreary backgrounds or base armors. Hopefully DrSII delivers~

Some of the hairstyles shown look really stupid to me. Worse yet, it appears they took away the original swept-back hairstyle which I really like. In the original game, given where it was taking place, the hairstyles at least seem believable (if you’re not looking at the Leon Kennedy one…) Here though, we got a couple ones that look like some overly complicated J-pop craps or something that is straight out of anime, which look ridiculously out of place. I’m fine with them putting the new hairstyles in to increase the diversity of the game but taking out the old believable ones just to shove these in? Dafuq?! As far as customization goes, I’m not liking where the Souls series is going…

Ridiculous hairstyles are pretty much the reason why most of my characters end up either with a shaved head(male) or with very short hair(female). That, or a mohawk, so long as the game in question has a cool mohawk option :D

      • bloodiOS

For the original game at least, except for Pigtails, I’m generally cool with the hairstyles given for the female character. But the ones that I especially like are:
        • Wave – looks fucking sexy.
        • Bun – Anastacia of Astora’s hairstyle, very pleasant to look at.
        • Braided – Dusk of Oolacile’s hairstyle, very classy.

        • GhostNomad

I tend to have issues with a lot of the female hairstyles, mostly because I prefer functionality when going for any sort of ‘realism’. To be fair, a lot of the male styles look incredibly annoying to deal with and manage, so they don’t get a free pass.

          • bloodiOS

You want realism, eh? They’re all tucked safely behind the helmet, so there!
Honestly though, I’m not seeing how hard it would be to manage the hairstyles seeing that Undeads don’t need to wash their bodies. You just die, turn to dust, and the bonfire will then spit out your particles and reconstruct the body without any fault, much more effective than taking shower or bath.

            • GhostNomad

When you put it that way, it sounds kinda badass. Where do I sign up?!

              • bloodiOS

                Climb in =)

                • GhostNomad

Just don’t chew. I don’t want to leave any particles stuck between your teeth!

                  • bloodiOS

Don’t worry, I won’t leave any particle stuck on my teeth =)

                    • GhostNomad

Come to think of it that might be kinda cool.

A fallen warrior refusing to accept death until he has reclaimed all of himself from his executioner!

On a very unrelated note, check your PSN. I just logged on and saw that I received my SkullGirls voucher!

                    • bloodiOS

Thanks. I’m downloading it right now =)
Takes a few good minutes of my life just booting to the PlayStation Store. This is honestly not meant to be used on the PS3 -___-
I wonder how long it’s gonna take till it crashes…

                    • GhostNomad

I wish they’d change it back to the old store. It was damn near perfect! I still get feels when certain games let you browse add-ons from the game’s main menu and it takes you to a page with the old store’s layout </3

                    • bloodiOS

Yeah, because the old store is integrated into the OS while the new store is just a patch-work app slapped on top of it for shizz and giggles -___-

                    • GhostNomad

You know the ol’ saying. If it ain’t broke, don’t force your ‘new, super cool’ version on a system that it isn’t designed for! I may be paraphrasing slightly.

                    • bloodiOS

Yeah, no kidding. Especially since the new store were probably designed for a system with a gigantic pool of RAM like the PS4 and not some herpy derpy 256MB crap like PS3 -___-

    • tokyobassist

I’d agree if I actually spent more time looking at the hair. Sorry but I’m always rocking a helmet out of my love for the Blue Bomber and because Artorias is a complete badass.

    • LunarHaven

Well, it’s in a fantasy world, it’s not like turning into a drake with a giant oversized dragon looking head is believable either, and also, Smough? Would you consider him believable looking? We’re not playing reality show here, we are experiencing FANTASY GAMES. And I for one dig hair nr. 4,5,8 and 10 out of those, maybe more so than the options in Souls 1. But hey, I agree with one thing you say, they should have kept the others and only added more. No reason to take away options.

      • bloodiOS

Obviously it is a fantasy game, but there are still things that fit into the context and things that don’t. If everything works in fantasy games, From Software might as well drop in Armored Cores because who cares, we’re experiencing fantasy games. Having someone transforming into a drake fits into the context because it is a form of magic with proper explanation and functionality. Smough belongs to a race of superior beings, so it’s not like you can judge the guy by the same standard as the main character. Where this game takes place, to have complex hairstyles that obviously require modern styling gel is definitely not fitting into the context and looks ridiculously out of place. But yeah, I’m probably just bitter that they took away my options.

        • LunarHaven

I never think of it like hair gel personally, I see it like more of a natural growth in fantasy realms lol, but yeah I feel for your lack of previous options, wish I had those choices to pick from as well.

  • LunarHaven

I think that skull shoulder pad has become a favorite of mine already lol That is one badass looking piece.
