BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma

Aksys Games is bringing the PS Vita version of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma to North America this summer, the company announced.

The PS Vita version will feature all playable characters from the PlayStation 3 version, which is due out on March 25, as well as an additional story, enhanced Abyss Mode, and more. Players will also be able to purchase the two downloadable character Kokonoe and Terumi, and unlock Kagura Mutsuki.

Here’s the full description:

About BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma

With the Cauldron shattered and the cycle broken, Ragna begins his final mission: Hunt down the villainous Terumi. Noel’s life and the fate of the entire world hang in the balance as Ragna the Bloodedge marches toward one last confrontation.

New Characters – BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma adds five new playable characters to the original cast, as well as two downloadable characters, the scientist Kokonoe and the villainous Terumi and the unlockable character Kagura Mutsuki.

Ragna Begins His Final Mission – BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma’s story mode contains more than 30 hours of gameplay, delving further into the epic journey of Ragna and the others than ever before. The PlayStation Vita system version contains a summary that takes you back to the events of Calamity Trigger and Continuum Shift to help refresh your memory!

Additional Story Content – Ever wonder what Noel, Ragna and new characters Celicia and Kagura would do if they hung out at a beach? Wonder no more because BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma for the PlayStation Vita system offers just that: a completely new story featuring your favorite characters at the beach! Did we mention bathing suits?

Modes for Every Player – Featuring traditional BlazBlue modes such as Arcade, Unlimited Mars, Survival, and more, BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma for PlayStation Vita system also offers an enhanced Abyss mode.

If you missed it, a teaser trailer for the PlayStation 3 version was published earlier this afternoon.

        • MrFinalgamer

ah gotcha. thanks for the advice. it’ll definitely come in handy from time to time

    • icecoffemix

I like how smart they are announcing this before the game come out in Japan too.

  • Elvick

    My dreams. They came true.

    <3 Aksys

  • crimsonidol

    Retail?

  • XypherCode

Will it still come with the Limited Edition like with the PS3 version?

    • TheExile285

      Probably not

  • Alkhan

    Aksys = Localization gods.

Who else was putting out physical versions of PSP games in 2013? Giving physical versions of super niche games like Sorcery Saga and with a special edition?

6 localized physical Vita games so far.

Square Enix – 2 games (FFX/X-2 HD counts as 1 bundled game in NA)
    NISA – 3 games
    Tecmo Koei- 3 games

    • MrFinalgamer

damn i honestly thought NISA had more localizations. i <3 aksys now! i suck hard at fighting games, and only played Blazblue once (it was calamity trigger), but i'll definitely get this!

    • Chestnut Bowl

Six titles? 2 BlazBlue games, Sorcery Saga, VLR, Muramasa and …?

    • Elvick

Tecmo Koei doesn’t look right. What are you counting? Because I can think of plenty they’ve brought. Sure they’ve done a few digital only localizations… (Atelier *cries*) but they have a lot of retail games already. One this week and two more soon. (maybe more)

      • Alkhan

        I’m counting physical localizations.

        Toukiden
        Dead Or Alive 5
        Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

Not sure if Deception lV will be digital only or retail.

        • Elvick

But… Ninja Gaiden Sigma was retail. That makes 4. And there’s Dynasty Warriors Next too.

And DW8 will probably be retail.

  • TheExile285

    Wow, so quick. AWESOME!!

  • tubers

    Much thanks!

  • Sevyne

Hell yeah! That was nice and quick! Day 1 purchase for Vita.

  • http://www.cubiz.tk/ Auragar

    Woo.~

  • Jontaku

Sweet, might as well wait for this version and import

  • artemisthemp

    Where is EU version?

  • Anime10121

Welp, this just made my decision on which one to buy easier, why go for the PS3 version, when the Vita one has SO much more, and will likely be 10 bucks cheaper! I prefer gaming on a big screen, but hell, the Vita version just sounds like a better deal :D

  • Chestnut Bowl

Ah, right! Forgot about that announcement.
