Final Fantasy Tactics director Yasumi Matsuno has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new tactical RPG for PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Windows Tablets, and if stretch goals are reached, PS Vita and 3DS.
Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians is the “spiritual successor” to Matsuno’s lineup of tactical RPGs, which includes Vagrant Story, Tactics Ogre, and Final Fantasy XII. It introduces players to the fantasy world of Rasfalia, where knights, wizards, archers, and creatures roam a vast landscape “that holds the secret stories of more than half a century of bloody war.” Players will “discover and relive” the land’s hidden tales of heroic deeds and uncover the source of legends.
The preliminary goal is $600,000 to get the game on PC and Mac. If $1.8 million is raised, the game will also come to PS Vita. And $2.8 million will secure a 3DS release. Other goals include additional scenarios, modes, classes, and new game plus.
