See how much nicer the new Yakuza looks on PlayStation 4.

Yakuza: Ishin

The latest Yakuza: Ishin gameplay walkthrough video compares the game’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 versions. As previously detailed, the PlayStation 4 version of the game runs in 1080p at 60 frames per second, and overall looks much nicer than the PlayStation 3 version.

Previous gameplay walkthrough videos have shown off the game’s battle stylesspecial moves and heat actionAnother Life elementbattle dungeons, growth and weapon forging, PS Vita companion app, and play spots.

Watch the walkthrough below. Yakuza: Ishin is due out in Japan on February 22.

It somehow really reminds me of Way of the Samurai(Samurai-dou) games…

I love how people keep going to WOTS when they see this… As if they completely forgot Kenzan! is a thing, lol.

I haven’t played Kenzan, since I’m not a Ryu ga Gotoku fan. I’ve played 1-3, but never got to 4,5, Kenzan and Of the End, thus I never knew it was also similar to Way of the Samurai.

I still wouldn’t even compare Kenzan! to WOTS, lol. Sure, they share a similar timeframe, but the gameplay is just too different. I know people that enjoy Kenzan!, but don’t really care for WOTS, and vice versa.

Is this explaining frame-rates to hot Japanese chicks or are they also part of the development team?

    • Budgiecat

They are in the game as npc characters

Not so big different – PS3 work in 720p and have more blur , but, textures almost the same, and cutscene look equally …
So, i’m play this on my PS3.

plus Youtube does a horrible job at showing proper framerate.

      PS4 version runs at 60fps….PS3 at 30fps….

      • gekitsu

word. youtube is becoming increasingly useless to show some of the increases in visual output quality.

its as if you want to showcase 24 bit colour in a gif.

Why YouTube is supporting uber resolutions, but not 60FPS videos is beyond me.

Even classic games ran at 60FPS and it’s not fun to watch that shit in 30FPS.

  • Anime10121

Looks better, which is expected on PS4.

  • bloodiOS

Heh, I’m sure this highly compressed 720p@30fps YouTube video is supposed to be representative of the PS4 version.

That said, from the video, the PS4 version definitely has crisper graphics, higher quality shadow, more detailed textures and better texture filtering with what seems to be 4xAF. What can’t be seen here is, of course, the benefit of having the game running with 125% more pixels and double the frame rate.

Will buy this if localized on PS3. Imported Kenzan and never finished. Looks good on PS3 but better and more clear on
