    Beautiful collector’s edition.

Tales of Xillia collector’s Edition had a bit more bang for your buck. I’m skipping Lightning Returns Collectors Edition, but will buy this game later on. For me “Tales of Xillia 2” gets higher priority.

  • karmacoma

No soundtrack? That’s my favorite part of the XIII series. D:
Although I’ll be honest, I’ve always kind of wanted a pocketwatch. Not sure I want one with a Final Fantasy logo in the centre though.

Nobody Cares!!!! Just release the damn game so we can get closer to Final Fantasy XV Please!!!

    Love Dem Disagrees.

    • Unretributed

Don’t you know? The next FF13 game will come out before FF15 does.

In fact, FF15 is a PS5 launch window title.

      • Crossbones (Prodigy-X)

        Dear God Save Us All.

  • Nightcore34

A video showing me what I can’t have… I see your game square. But still can’t wait for feb 14

SQUARE ENIX ONLINE STORE EXCLUSIVE? sorry this time i take the standard

  • Lelouch Vi Britannia

As far as jrpg titles that are 13th in the series “Tales of Xillia Collector’s Edition” is one purchase i have No regrets buying.
Lightning Returns Collectors Edition being a SE Store exclusive is a stupid choice in my opinion.

    • Ladius

Tales of Xillia had a really good Collector’s Edition, not to mention the Day One extras we got free of charge. It was also an amazing game, which surely didn’t hurt, and considering Symphonia Chronicles has another sweet CE I hope they will do the same for Xillia 2.

  • Wolf Star

At least 13 series is going to end. Thank god, now it’s FF15 turn!! :3

    • Crossbones (Prodigy-X)

Final Fantasy XIII: Trilogy Edition (next gen port of them all)

      • JoJo_718

Considering the Tomb Raider one, it’s hard not to believe it.

  • icup ✔️

imma buy a few copies from SE store and sell it on ebay and amazon for triple the price. #yourwelcome

      Not one per person?

      • icup ✔️

        it says 5 max quantity.

  • vertical09

Man that guy got annoying at times.

    Nice looking CE though.

Impression on the game itself (played through the JP version)

Pros: – Fluid and intuitive combat, switching between classes/costumes is
a breeze and is quite enjoyable.
    – Customization galore (color of costumes, weapons, accessories,
    – Soundtrack is pleasant
    – Some Boss fights are tense and require strategy

Cons: – Characters/NPC are bland, uninteresting, and practically
    – Pacing is abysmal
    – The plot/storyline is a complete and utter joke
    – Character models and some animations are worse than FF
    – Most of the game feels rushed/incomplete and suffers from
    identity crisis
    – Noticed a lot of glitches and frame-rate drops (especially in open
    – The ending…..uhh….

I had a good time with FF13 LR, much as I did with FF13-2….but only for a few reasons. The combat is fun and remains fun until the end, but is not worth the investment you would make…..the bad simply outweighs the good.

Would I recommend FF13 LR at full price? No, if you find the game at a reduced price in the future (15 – 20 Euro/Dollars seems reasonable), then perhaps yes……otherwise I would avoid FF-13 LR and safe monies for FF15.

    -FF XIII: Pupin Returns

It really is a shame, It seems SE pretty much shot themselves in the foot with XIII, then shot themselves in the same foot again with XIII-2, now they’re trying to heal the bullet wound with Lightning Returns.

And by heal I mean mutilate even more.

      • HighBrowDrifter

FF13 LR had the worst sales amongst all three…..I hope Square Enix realizes that people do not want the same fiasco with FF15 (story, pacing, characters, etc.).

I am quite optimistic from what I have seen with FF15 thus far (slightly disappointed about the sausage fest/japanese host boys….oh well, we’ll see). I highly doubt they will butcher the next installment of Final Fantasy…..
but if they will, I hope they sell the IP to another company before Final Fantasy goes completely mobile…..the horror!

        • Sae-Won Yoon

          I *REALLY* hope so,

I can’t help but be worried a bit, Nomura almost scared the shit out of me when he said he once that he almost wanted FFXV to be a musical

Still, It looks hella lot better than any of the Lightning saga games, I just wished the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation wasn’t so out of wack and was completed according to plan. *coughTypeZerocough*

          • HighBrowDrifter

“Nomura almost scared the shit out of me when he said he once that he almost wanted FFXV to be a musical”…..Wait, what?!? You’re joking right??….I-I couldn’t even wrap my brain around this tasteless idea. Grotesque.

Uhhh…..I want Type-0 really really bad! I truly hope they either:

            A. Give us an HD version for PS Vita (considering FFX already seems to have moved a lot of units in Japan, soooo…yeah, do that Square Kleenex)

            B. Give us Final Fantasy Type-1/X/0-2 or whatever you wanna call it.

Make 2014 your year Square Chex Mix or it’s over!….That goes for you too Crapcom (*`へ´*).
Let’s bring back that magic, mkay?

    • icecoffemix

Dahaha, why am I not surprised?

I dunno why they keep making the one FF game which turned a lot of people’s perception of the series into that akin of garbage but at least it’s over now.

      • HighBrowDrifter

You know…I had high optimism going into the campaign, I really did. I tried very hard to find the passion, love, and sense of purpose I used to find in previous installments…..sadly I was left empty handed.

Whatever happened to an engaging storyline/plot development? What happened to characters you cared for, laughed with, cursed at for substantial reasons and not because they aggravated you for talking utter *bleep* (hey Vanille!). What about being immersed in a true “Fantasy” world and not some off-beat fabrication?

I hope somehow….somehow, Square Chickflicks returns to its former glory.

    • Zancrow

      So, it’s a worthy successor to FF13 and 13-2.
      Good to hear.

      • HighBrowDrifter

It’s sad….considering they wasted their budget on something that “could” have had a lot of potential.
Should have invested that money into getting a new CEO and better staff, not some half-breed otakus (just saying).

        • Zancrow

Yeah, it’s sad how they basically forgot how to make games.

  • Budgiecat

I’ll pass and wait till it’s like $10 maybe

  • RoyalR R.M

I’ll wait til it below 20, by that time All dlc should should release and worth getting it.

  • bloodiOS

Hmm… looking at that Japanese covert art reminded me of the abomination that is North American version’ cover art… Whoever done it must have an agenda of some sort, because I can’t believe someone thought this shitty mess looks good enough to be displayed as the box art… What do they have against putting Lightning in the center?

    • icup ✔️

ffxiii and ffxiii-2 were similar in that lightning took up half the cover. maybe they wanted a consistency. while the japanese box cover for ffxiii and ffxiii-2 were just the logo art. odd that lightning return is not the logo art for japan… but whatever.

  • Bobby Jennings

Imported the game, loved it. Going to buy this collectors.

  • りんごタルト@エスカのアトリエ

Something is really wrong with you if you played, or planning to play this game.

    • Anime10121

Something is really wrong with you if you cant let people like what they like.

      • りんごタルト@エスカのアトリエ

It’s not like I’m pointing a gun at you, telling you not to play awful games, right?

        • http://enria.org/ Jahla Din

True but you’re kind of being a arrogant ass about it because anyone would dare like something that goes against your “almighty” opinion.

  • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

I’ll be getting one, can’t wait

  • Lelouch Vi Britannia

Tales of Xillia 2 gets priority for me and in time ill buy Lightning returns when its $20.

  • Lelouch Vi Britannia

While its off topic its time SE & Namco Bandai make that Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Tales Crossover game they talked of doing about 3 months ago.

  • artemisthemp

I really wish Square Enix would sell this CE in EU
