Sony promises to continue delivering "exciting software titles."

Killzone: Shadow Fall

PlayStation 4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall has sold over 2.1 million units worldwide as of January 15, Sony Computer Entertainment announced.

The number accounts for both physical and digital sales.

“I am thrilled that so many users have been enjoying Killzone: Shadow Fall since the launch of PS4,” said Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios. “This title fully embraces the creativity of the development team at Guerrilla Games based in the Netherlands, and is a great representation of what SCE WWS has to offer.

“SCE will continue to deliver exciting software titles, and is currently developing more than 30 titles including Driveclub, inFAMOUS: Second Son, and The Order: 1886, which offer entertainment experiences only possible on PS4.”

Killzone: Shadow Fall launched on November 15.

Congratulations Guerrilla Games!!! Can’t wait for your New Ip!!! Well Deserved Sales!!!

  • RedWolfe

    That’s good to hear.

I know the game hasn’t fared very well critically but I’m sure the team at Guerillia worked their asses off to get the game out the door in time for the PS4 launch so at least it’s been a success for them commercially.

Grats! I am happy to contribute :)

SP was awesome but I prefer KZ3 MP

I don’t care what people say, I think this game was amazing.

Yeah, game critics (and fans) can be such idiots. Some of them seem to think that ten times more powerful hardware should translate to ten times better than Killzone 2.

      • Elvick

I don’t know what people want from “next gen”.

It’s like they want games to transcend the genre they’re in. A FPS is a FPS. More power isn’t going to make a FPS different at it’s core. It’s still going to be a FPS.

And the way Killzone was done (SP at least) wasn’t your typical FPS experience. Yet people hated it. xP

I’m not big on online so still haven’t tried it, and didn’t play much of either KZ2 or KZ3 online. (or Mercenary for that matter) But, sheesh.

It’s odd to think Resistance 2 reviewed well back in the day, while Shadow Fall was trashed for a lot of stupid reasons.

        • notcarolkaye

Perfect example. There’s no way Resistance 2 deserved better scores than Shadow Fall, but it sure got em. Silly.

Also, I’m more of an SP guy too, but I’ve had fun playing Shadow Fall MP. It’s worth checking out.

I’ve been meaning to give the online of Mercs and SF a go. I just have so much single player stuff to beat. dat backlog
