Western edition includes new mode not seen in original release.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle

The U.S. physical release version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will be a limited run supply sold exclusively through Amazon.com and ClubNamco.com, Namco Bandai announced.

The game will also be available digitally on PlayStation Network.

The western version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will feature a new “Arcade Mode” not found in the original Japanese release, as well as the balance changes applied to the game post-launch in Japan. The new mode lets players fight through eight AI-controlled opponents through a series of battles. On “rare occasions,” the Arcade Mode icon will switch to “Harvest” when connected online to allow players to earn more gold upon completing matches.

          • DarthBrian

I’m still paying for my house. >_>

I wish more companies would do this rather than just go digital only.

    • http://shinsua.tumblr.com/ Shinsua

Digital only because it’s subbed only. Sony has rules against physical copies that are only subs rather than fully dubbed translations. There seem to be a few exceptions, but it might be grandfatherings or games with special relations to Sony itself.

      • Budgiecat

        Hakuoki PS3?

        • http://shinsua.tumblr.com/ Shinsua

          What of it?

          • Budgiecat

Its a retail disc PS3 Visual Novel localized for the U.S.

So it has arguably 2 previously considered ‘strikes’ against it in regards to SCEA:

1)It’s a Visual Novel (It was said SCEA had some sort of ban on localizing VN’s to PS3 because they didn’t consider them games, hence that throws the grandfather theory out the window)

            2)It’s not dubbed.

So there really doesn’t seem to be any special relations with Sony here considering this is such a niche title…

My apologies for mixing “games” and “game companies” in my original response. It likely doesn’t have any push here, but it is relevant.

I still don’t see what you’re trying to say or do, I guess? As I said, there are exceptions (likely based on popularity/requests), and unless SCEA recently made alterations to their policies regarding Eastern games, this is all that I know to be true.

It’s certainly possible that they’ve just made it a “companies beware” deal, but I’ve heard no word of it.

    • PrinceHeir

definitely, at least they won’t have to worry about over supplying.

and if there’s a demand, they could always reprint it on a later time.

  • tokyobassist

I wonder how the DLC is going to be handled. I heard rumors Baoh might not be in the Western release. Is this true?

  • Nick C.

So, will PS4’s be able to have this over PSN? I’ve been wanting to jump in on owning a playstation, and this is the game that will push me to get one. I’m wary if only the PS3 would be able to play this.

    • tokyobassist

      Safe to say it’s a PS3 exclusive.
