Test play upcoming update ahead of Japanese March release.

A downloadable demo for Soul Sacrifice Delta is coming to the Japanese PlayStation Store on December 12, Sony has announced.

The demo will be compatible with both PS Vita and PS Vita TV.

Players can choose whether they belong to the “Avalon,” “Sanctuary,” or “Grimm” factions, and battle monsters like the low class “Fairy,” and the humanoid “Snow White” and “Red Riding Hood.” Ad-hoc and internet co-op play will also be supported.

Save data from the demo version can be used in the retail version when it launches in Japan this March to obtain a character’s custom accessory items.

Watch a trailer for the demo below. View some screenshots at the gallery.

They added a new Spear type melee weapon. Interesting.

There’s some jerk downvoting. Ugh, ruined my whole train of hype.

      Freaking jerk(s)!

I want Soul Sacrifice 2 to be an open-world PS4 RPG co developed with From Software.

    Make it happen, Sony.

    • LeSamurai

I dont know if this is a good plan for sony, because Soul Sacrifice is kinda like a portable dark souls for vita and Sony needs to support vita more with games like that, who will be an exclusive experience in psvita.

      Support the damn Vita!

      portbeggers everywhere…

      • $83030187

Does it count as portbegging if I own a Vita?

      • jujubee88

It’s even more disgusting considering they could just buy a VITA TV for $99 or less (used, when it comes to the west).

Bad move for Sony’s ailing handheld.

Japan loves handheld and if they want to still have a future in that scene next gen, in their home turf, they’d keep this as Sony handheld exclusive.

  • bloodiOS

I’m still not sure what this is. Is it an enhanced version of the existing game with additional contents, a sequel, or a glorified stand-alone expansion pack?

      New game

    • Bobby Jennings

      Its a brand new game.

    • TheExile285

      New game

From the gameplay I’ve seen so far, it’s technically all of the above. It’s Soul Sacrifice but with some new monsters, skills, and stages, so essentially SS1.5 except not sold as a downloadable upgrade if you have the first game and your characters most likely won’t transfer over (from SS to Delta).

      • Sevyne

I wouldn’t say that your characters won’t transfer over. There is a high possibly that they will. We already know save files WILL transfer over because they’ve said as much.

      • 武神水樹

I’m pretty sure your character will transfer

    • 武神水樹

There’s another faction called Grimm joining that uses fate to judge the outcome

    • tubers

      It’s SS 1.5.

      SS 2 is actually planned.

  • Rafael Martines

This game deserves a PS3/PS4 version too, I will buy again *__*

    • 武神水樹

Inafune said if fans keep supporting SS he’d like to continue the series

      • Kurisu Makise

Here’s hoping for more growth with Soul Sacrifice Delta, I’d really like to see the Hunting action genre grow and become very sustainable.

    • TheExile285

Why though? Its fine on Vita.

    • Karl Josef

Buy a vita instead so everyone in your family can also use the tv hahahahaha

  • 武神水樹

Will enjoy playing this on my Vita TV

  • artemisthemp

Looks like my second Vita Memory finally see some use
