I’m glad to see Super Mario 3D World is still seeing some success and nice numbers on them Wii-U sales this week. I wonder how long Call of Duty will be in the top 20 though.

  • Kayseur

Not a single PS Vita game in the list… Well, none has been released recently so that’s not that surprising, though it still sold 30k units, that’s pretty good.

    • Pyrofrost

Shin Gundam Musou just release on PSV and PS3, so hopefully that will push some units for PSV (my PS3 version has shipped and will arrive by 10:45 am tomorrow).

      • Kayseur

Right, there’re some this week, the Madoka game as well for instance (though I doubt it’ll sell much). And there’s FFX remaster next week if I’m not mistaking. The PSV might be able to hold onto the 30k figure or more for a while given the period of the year.

        • Pyrofrost

          I completely forgot about FFX/X-2

I think the problem with a lot of this is the ‘dual-release’ though. I mean, Musou for instance, I would rather play on a TV and it’s great when you have a friend over. However, I wonder what it would have done for the Vita world-wide if FFX/X-2 were made as a Vita exclusive.

The highest points for Vita sales world-wide IIRC were at launch and around the time P4G launched (in their respective locations).

          • Kayseur

Well the multiplateform “problem” sure hinder the PSVita sales a bit, however since we’re talking about japanese sales the negative effect is still toned down a little. Still, some of the multiplat games (such as Shin Gundam Musou) are made with the PS3 version in mind I think, so I’m already satisfied to be able to get them on the go.

And if the remaster of FFX/X-2 had been a Vita exclusive oversea, it might have done some good for sure, but they were already unsure about its release until not long ago, so… that was pretty much impossible. I’ll just bet the sales on the next few real exclusivities we’re getting (GR2, FW, OreShika if we get it…).

            • Pyrofrost

Hopefully something shakes with that, we also have Ao no Kiseki Evolution coming as well.

  • Renaldi Saputra

I thought Puzdra will hit 1 million sales..
well, but still a good one

    • British_Otaku

It may hit 1 million in the long haul and it has a much lower cost of development than at least most titles in the charts. The number isn’t as important as a profit or developer confidence, outselling everything that isn’t Pokemon or Monster Hunter is good.

  • surachokes

nice to see all hardware sales rise from a week before :)

  • TetsuyaHikari

Geez. I just noticed how much the 3DS is dominating, lol.

  • kurosan9712

Hmm, guess I’ll have to buy PazuDora too, since the demo is pretty cool. Pokemon, but with FUN battle system and breeding/evolution system.

  • Magnumsally

Nintendo is the best game company and proves it time and time again

    • kurosan9712

Yeah, they rule. Well, except most games I like on their consoles aren’t made by them or their studios.

    • CirnoTheStrongest

I’ll have to respectfully disagree with that one.

    • Keegs79

They prove they can sell games but its been along time since they proven they have anything original and worthwhile to give gamers. Two reasons I think Nintendo does incredibly well, sheep and parents.

      • kurosan9712

If it sells – is there much need to waste money on making something original? Any manager would say “No” and he would be right.
Nintendo, for me, isn’t a game maker, but console maker, so I don’t care what they do, lol.

        • Elvick

But their hardware sucks. So if you remove their games, there’s zero reason to even pay attention to them.

          • kurosan9712

Well, if for you hardware is defined by graphics it can handle – yeah, it sucks.
For me, game hardware is defined by the quality of the games it has. 3DS has very high, for me, at least higher than all currently released Vita ORIGINAL(ports, remakes, etc aside) games.
Graphics=/=quality, and I consider it a secondary parameter anyways.

            • Budgiecat

              They gimp themselves

        • Keegs79

If it sells? That game specifically? The problem is games like it that are for the core Nintendo audience. If Nintendo wants to stop selling consoles at a snail’s pace, they need to provide new original games and stop milking their franchises.

          • kurosan9712

haha. You talking about 3DS? You sure? It’ll surpass PS3 in a year or two with current sales(may come close to DS or even surpass it), and you say that? WiiU – yes, they’d need something new, but 3DS is fine like it is.
Go tell make something ORIGINAL and New to SONY and Vita, which sucks a lot in hardware sales still.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

This makes me wanna get puzzle and dragons z. No use waiting for the us release. Will probably order it soon.

  • shogunknight

    That holiday bump

  • Articuno76

Wow, Nintendo is wiping up over there and the Vita looks like it isn’t doing all that well in software (there isn’t any PSP entries so it isn’t like Sony is competing with itself…).

    • Kurisu Makise

What software was there to do well with for Vita? Nothing in the Top 20 this week as it is.

  • MrKappa

I don’t think the Vita will ever take off, especially when it is nothing getting games like Puzzles and Dragons Z.

    • Elvick

Yeah, it’s not like it just sold 30k hardware with zero charting software.

  • AdamBoy64

Great to see the Wii U selling well last week.
I’d like to see Vita TV get more sales.

  • Budgiecat

Wow cant believe that puzzles and dragons sells that much when you can play it free on iOS. Seems like such a lame shovelware throwaway game though. Weird tastes people have these days

    • Elvick

      “free” on iOS.

      • Budgiecat

Yeah I know, microtransaction up the butt with no vaseline yada yada.

But when a throw together garbage shovelware iOS app game with little to no marketing makes more money out the gate than a Final Fantasy game, then that is sending some serious messages back to the gaming developers. No need to try so hard anymore to make games. People will buy the most mundane of stuff with the littlest effort put into it.

Heck why even bother making a 3DS Bravely Default game. The cheap looking browser game along had some nut lady spending 40 grand on it alone…

  • Hidayat246

    gran turismo 6 sales is………. T_T

  • Kurisu Makise

W-where is this WiiU surge coming from Mario barely moved any units this week, is it that early Dec Nintendo bump? But then, that doesn’t explain Vita’s bump with no software…very weird.

    • British_Otaku

The Christmas rush. Sales increasing towards the end of a month should be fairly typical.

      • Kurisu Makise

I was under the impression Nintendo primarily gets the Dec bump and Sony gets a bump a little after New Years since people get money to spend but even Vita received some boost and WiiU’s boost that much better, yikes. No doubt having Mario bundled helped a ton.
