Please release this in Europe too. That pocket watch is just so sexy :3

  • Pyrofrost

Not a bad CE. I won’t be buying it though. While I like XIII, I don’t like it enough to drop 90 bucks on it. Too many games in the Feb~Mar line-up anyway.

The only CEs I will be picking up in that space are Bravely Default and Blazblue.

  • DarthBrian

*sigh*. I ordered it. I am a weak super fanboy. :(

Too bad it’s Digital fucking River. I hate those idiots. >_<

But I couldn't resist for mai waifu Collector's Edition. T_T

    • Zefhar

yo waifu, you mean Lightning or Aeris? lol.

      • DarthBrian

        Both, obviously.

  • bldudas

I want it, but I don’t want to go through their store.

  • michel

the artbook could be interesting, no idea about what they mean by “introspective look”, but I guess it’s a second artbook.

    • icup ✔️

it’s just a thought process of what things went through… or so i believe.

  • ayb_91

Is it worth buying? I mean mostly the watch. Aye or nay?

    • EvE

    • Nightcore34

For the collectors as a whole, only if you’re fine with spending more and only if you like collecting/looking at artbooks but the watch is if you want it then yeah but getting it just for the watch then nay.

    • icup ✔️

it’s a pocket watch. more than likely you have a cell phone with a clock. no on its purpose.

but if you want to collect it just for the hell of it. i don’t see why not.

  • Nightcore34

Yeah!, now do it for Europe, the UK needs this, I need this.

  • Chaos Raiden

I will only buy it if it includes the complete soundtrack like FFXIII-2’s Collector’s Edition.

  • $83030187

    Ugh. Digital River.

I still haven’t ordered Drakengard 3 yet because of those fuckers.

    • Pyrofrost

After the Ni no Kuni incident, forever FUCK Digital River. . .with a sand-paper condom.

      • $83030187

It’s painful that the only way I can get my most anticipated game of 2014 is through those dipshits.

I might just buy the game digital and then track down a physical copy on eBay later.

It would be more expensive, but I’d feel better about myself. What happened with Ni no Kuni was unforgivable.

        • Pyrofrost

I don’t think Drakengard 3 is going to be exclusive to the SE store. If that were the case, it would suck.

You’ll probably be able to snag it on Amazon or something.

          • $83030187
            • DarthBrian

              I think that’s just for pre-orders.

              • $83030187

I’m convinced that the SE store will be the only place, but I guess we won’t know for sure until a release date is given.

Being able to get the game from Amazon would be godlike.

                • Budgiecat

Why would they do that? they dont want the game to sell?

                  • $83030187

Drakengard is a pretty niche series. Probably figured it wasn’t worth their time printing many copies.

I mean, I can totally understand not shipping copies to Wal-Mart and stuff, but they should have at least made copies available at GameStop and Amazon.

              • Pyrofrost

I really hope that’s the case.

            • Pyrofrost

Damn, I didn’t even notice that when I ran across it the other day.

If that turns out to be the case, I will just go digital.

I won’t order a game through digital river again.

        • ShadowDivz

psssst, what happened with Ni no Kuni?

          • $83030187

A bunch of people who ordered the CE found their order canceled and a bunch of copies ended up on eBay for crazy prices.

      • Raiyu

  • Gust

As much as I like the game I’m not spending +90$ For a game

    • ShadowDivz

It’s not like your JUST getting the game. Your also getting other stuff!

      • Gust

I understand that. It’s not a matter of me not wanting the extra gear, it’s a matter of finding the money to get it

  • bloodiOS

    That’s one unappealingly cheap-looking pocket watch…

  • new_tradition

Ugh, finally they announce a special edition!

I spent months begging for it, and it finally happened, but I refuse to buy from the S-E Online Store. Too many horror stories about Digital River has kept me away. Plus shipping outside the USA is pricey last I saw :/

Edit: Just realized there’s no OST. A shame, it’s the best in the trilogy IMO. Plus they could’ve bumped the CE to 99.99 even…

    • Nightcore34

Damn, I just realised that, No ost, but It’s final fantasy.. they have great soundtracks.

  • MrFinalgamer

meh, i’ll wait a couple of months. did the same for XIII-2 and found the collectors edition for $40 so i expect that the same will happen with this one

  • Zero

I see lots of people are worried about buying this or anything else from the Square-Enix store.

I can happily report I’ve bought a few things from the store this year with no issue.

Yes, I knew it was digital river… what can I say? I suppose I’m a glutton for punishment.

(I was one of those unlucky individuals who didn’t get his Ni No Kuni Wizard Edition.)

Anyways — I actually Pre-Ordered the Final Fantasy XIV Before Meteor OST. I also bought a copy of Final Fantasy XIV ARR for PC on the store, during my contest giveaway.

    I. They still charge you right away on a Pre-Order, but they return the funds a few days later until it’s time for whatever you purchased to release.

Sadly, so many places do this now days. I particularly hate the ones that don’t charge you right away and return the funds, oh no, they wait and just randomly do it unannounced. This didn’t happen to me with the SE store by the way.

The only place that doesn’t charge you/return the funds right away is pretty much Amazon.

II. This is about the shipping. I only bought one physical item, but it was a Pre-Order. I decided to just pick the cheapest shipping. I actually got the soundtrack two days before it was supposed to come out.

In conclusion, I’d say ordering from the store isn’t a huge mistake or anything. I suppose I could have gotten really lucky, but I haven’t had any issues. I’d also suggest picking the cheapest shipping, unless you can afford the more expensive kind.

It seems like this and Drakengard 3 might be exclusive to the store. I’ll most likely cave in and buy both from the store. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts and opinions.

    (Updated this post a little.)
If you have any other questions, etc. feel free to post a reply.

    • Nightcore34

I gotta ask, where do you live? outside of US or in it cause I live outside so I’m a bit hesitant to order especially because there’ll be shipping fees

      • Zero

I live in the US. That’s something I’m really not sure about I’m afraid. I can try and look up the prices for it later if you like.

        • Nightcore34

Nah that’s fine, I was just wondering if you were in the same position as me, don’t worry I’ll look it up or hope out for a euro release.

    • Maz loa

Thanks for the info. You mentioned you’ve bought the FFXIV CE from them, how well do they package things? The box looks big and should have a least bubble rap all over it,so the corners don’t get dented.

      • Zero

I only bought the digital edition. The CD I purchased was packaged well, it wasn’t damaged or anything like that.

    • PrinceHeir

      thanks for the info Zero!

yeah i still remember you losing and not getting that Wizard Edition :(

      bunch idiots at digital river.

and wow they still charge like that!! wtf?!?!

i think in addition to amazon, play-asia, yes asia, rightstuf, cdjapan and tons of sites don’t charge when you preorder.

this kind shitty move shouldn’t exist in the year 2013 watsoever.

btw did you buy the CE of FFXIV PS3 here? and what about Drakengard 3 being exclusive there?? O__O

      • Zero

I agree, it shouldn’t exist. i didn’t realize other websites were as reliable with that as amazon.

I actually bought my XIV ARR PS3 CE from amazon. I haven’t purchased Drakengard 3 yet, or LR CE. I think I most likely will soon though.

    • $83030187

It took two months for my copy of Just Cause 2.

      TWO MONTHS ._____.

      • Zero

Good heavens. That sounds awful. Sorry you had to wait that long… for anything.

        • $83030187

And the worst part is I ended up not liking the game.

          Damn you, Digital River!

However, I am so hyped for Drakengard 3, I’m probably going to bite the bullet. My love for the original game and Nier surpass my dislike of this company.

    • Kurisu Makise

I’ve actually had positive experience with Digital River via Capcom’s store. I got Ghost Trick and the original Ace Attorney for free in a deal, no regrets, nice and smooth. I guess I whined about the customs fee (though it was super small) but that’s outside of America issues really =(

      • Zero

I’m glad you had a pretty positive experience overall. =)

Thanks for the reply, Za Zombie. No? Okay. Celeb 7, or… wait… Christina! xD

        • Kurisu Makise

rofl I’m going to remember Celeb 7 for a joke, expect it xD!

    • Kurochi

You are a big help! Now the only question I have is that are they suppose to send you an email conformation that you pre-order the item or not? If so I didn’t get one. :(

Did this happened to you before?

      • Zero

I suggest checking your spam folder. My order email confirmation was from – webhelp.v4@digitalriver

I suggest looking for something like that in your spam folder. I hope that helps.

    • PrinceHeir

i didn’t knew Drakengard 3 US is only available at their store :(

looks like i’ll have to order now, but man that digital fucking river T___T

  • Budgiecat

    do the math..

  • artemisthemp

Now I just wait for Square Enix to announce a CE for EU
