Golden Time: Vivid Memories has three mini-games
Protect yourself from the tea ceremony club in "Sadou Defender."
Golden Time: Vivid Memories, Kadokawa Games‘ upcoming PS Vita adventure game based on the anime and light novel series, isn’t just an adventure game. It will also come loaded with three mini-games, the first of which has been revealed today.
“Sadou Defender” is a defense game set in the hell that is the tea ceremony club’s drinking party at the Golden Time tavern. Players can become Banri, Mitsuo, or 2D-Kun—with the remaining two becoming support characters—and defend themselves against the onslaught of incoming tea ceremony club members, each with different speeds and powers. Using your support characters’ special skills, your goal is to subdue the club members and defeat boss characters Sao-chan and Shi-chan.
As for the actual adventure game, it follows an original story supervised by original author Yuyuko Takemiya. Leaving his school entrance ceremony, Tada Banri decides not to walk, but to head to campus by subway, weaving a game original “if” scenario. Vivid Memories offers about 20 different endings, and JCStaff are drawing over 100 CG scenes for critical story moments.
The game will be fully voiced by the anime cast. Characters will wear different outfits each day, with a over 120 outfits in the game. Players will be able to talk with other characters, navigate campus via the university map, and register their own classes. When registering, players can see which characters are taking each class to get an idea of who they’ll encounter in their day-to-day college life.
Golden Time: Vivid Memories uses “Realize2D” technology to depict 2D anime characters in a smooth, 3D-like fashion. If you’re talking to Koko, for example, and she’s happy, she might move something like this:
