A new first-person shooter from The Farm 51.

Get Even

Deadfall Adventures and Necrovision developer The Farm 51 announced Get Even, a new first-person shooter for next-generation consoles and PC, during a press conference in Warsaw, Poland today.

The game uses “3D scans of real locations and people,” developed in collaboration with research institutes and independent specialists, to produce its graphics.

Get Even plans to remove the barrier between single and multiplayer by linking them together. Players can join other players’ single-player games “at any moment” and take on enemy roles regularly controlled by AI.

Players can experience the events of the single-player campaign from the perspective of two opposing protagonists. The story will be told through “elements of gameplay, exploration, and interacting with the environment,” rather than through “the standard usage” of dialogue and cutscenes. Gameplay will differ based on which side of the story is chosen.

Get Even is planned for release in 2015. View the first screenshots at the gallery.

Thanks, NeoGAF.

I was just thinking about how we needed more First Person Shooters!

    • Xaltmas

If you love FPS games but aren’t into military wankfests, then you always need more shooters.

      • captainhowdy

        Exactly.

  • Xaltmas

    “Next-gen FPS” :)

    “The Farm 51″ :(

Oh, I remember the last game that tried to do that

I’m so tired of modern FPS games. We need more different FPS.

    • Xaltmas

Most people aren’t interested in FPS games unless they involve killing minorities with high-powered military hardware.

      • Budgiecat

lol there’s an agenda going on here…

Also, you ever watched that Transformers interview with Michael Bay where he literally said his TF movies are made that way (heavy focus on modern military more than…the actual Transformers) as a tool for recruiting kids into the military? Not related to this but I always was like wtf mang on that…

        • captainhowdy

That movie should have been called: Desperate horny dude trying to get laid………………. With Transformers

Throughout those films all he was trying to do is bang his girlfriend in a private location. While the evil transformers harass them for stupid, boring reasons.

          • EX+

            Ikr?

            • captainhowdy

              Yes! No “?” about it ;-) .

        • EX+

Yeah, but he’s Michael Bay. His movies blow.
I think he’s in for some serious bashing if he makes the military involved in the new TMNT movie he’s directing…

      • captainhowdy

Sadly that’s true, so true. I don’t care what anyone says at least Halo strays away from stuff like that, Gears of War may not be a FPS but it’s my favorite shooter this gen, very awesome game from story to gameplay.

It sucks Unreal Tournament III and the Quake battlefield type game was a serious disappointment. I was hoping those would be amazing :- . I have some hope on sci fi FPS and horror FPS making a comeback. Heck let’s add fantasy to it as well :-).

I never brought any of these modern warfare games out now. It’s so bland fighting people in sand, over and over and over again. Same thing with the WW2 games, never supported them either.

    • Budgiecat

FPS is not even needed. Look at RE Revelations. When you want to shoot….it goes into first person.

Otherwise why play as a floating camera 24/7. Its dumb

  • tokyobassist

Why is the industry so misguided and stupid!?

Note to the game industry: Stealing Dark Souls’ multiplayer component without any logical context to your product is not a free sale.I really don’t like this merger between single and multiplayer experiences because it’s not really going to enhance games, it’s just forcing everybody to play multiplayer while giving the illusion that you’re still getting a proper solo experience.

I like the Souls series but remember when Resident Evil 6 tried this crap with Agent Mode or whatever it’s called? Yeah imagine that in every game. How annoying would it be to have other people dictate your enjoyment of a game outside of multiplayer?

Games are getting worse every year obviously.

“3D scans of real locations and people”.

Sim racers use laser-scanned tracks too, it’s not new to the industry.

“remove the barrier between single and multiplayer by linking them together.”

Then what’s the point of single player? Yeah you can disable that, the single+multiplayer thingy.

      • EX+

It’s what they pass off as innovation, when it’s really pointless.
I don’t know about you, but I prefer single player games. That’s why I don’t really care for FPS’.
I play multiplayer, but no where near as much as I play single.

        • tokyobassist

Every FPS I play, nobody I know really plays because they are really different from the rest. I can dig on stuff like Tribes, Timesplitters, Perfect Dark, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Red Faction or even some more popular stuff like Borderlands.

I just don’t like by the number competitive shooters who’s sole gimmick is “FRAG YOUR FRIENDS HERP DERP!” I want more interesting games instead of this grounded in reality crap that these Western devs seem so adamant about yet fail to do things that are realistic at all. Have you seen the stupid stuff you can do with the jet on Battlefield? It’s so silly man.

    • Lelouch Vi Britannia

Its called playing it safe as many developers are too afraid to innovate but find it more than OK to spend tens of millions of dollars on a game that may not sell enough copies to make a profit.
Developers focus TOO much on graphics and less on gameplay we don’t even get 100% of our purchase experience, but instead forced Map packs and BS that is DLC down our throats becuase they are greedy as hell.

      • tokyobassist

It’s weird too because some games have too much damn content and lacks focus on particular aspect. Resident Evil 6 has 3 6-7 hour long campaigns but has really janky mechanics and feels too loose, Skyrim has lots of content but the game is buggy as all hell, the combat has no weight, etc.

I’d rather have a shorter arcade-styled experience that’s enjoyable and doesn’t feel like a chore to play over a game that has so much content that if you happen to do everything, you NEVER want to attempt it again.

A few modern games I enjoyed with shorter lengths were Shadows of the Damned, Bayonetta (skill dependent), Sonic Generations (newer Sonic games have been excessively long), and Silent Hill Downpour to name a few and they still had decent amount of stuff to do (except Shadows)

  • Bob Obb

I love that suddenly it’s bad for games to focus on single player. And yet most games don’t even support local multiplayer, only online. WTF is wrong with developers?

    • Guest

      $$

    • Elvick

Can’t sacrifice performance or dem graphics for splitscreen silly.

  • bloodiOS

The guy’s face looks somewhat like Joel from The Last of Us:

  • Lelouch Vi Britannia

I don’t care since its another FPS tha scratches out Single Player experience for the rest being focused on MP. I get the feeling that FPS oversaturation will worsen The industry. Cod cant remain king of turd mountain forever. People are going to start wanting new experiences not another run and gun experience that has been repeated in numerous COD clones.

I would have been interested if this was an RPG but forget it.

    • LunarHaven

Dude, I have a friend who goes around sprouting CoD sucks as soon as the name is mentioned around him, he has good points for disliking the franchise ways, he plays BF4 every day now, yeah… what a big change up… and BF4 has a lot of bugs, so now he’s looking for something else to play until they fixed it, guess what he bought? …… Yeah, CoD Ghosts, people suck at being diverse and in the end it might make us true gamers that love a wide range of experiences suffer,

  • Warboss Aohd

does that guy have Ice Powers?

  • LunarHaven

I almost only play Singleplayer, I hope that it never dies out, because that would be the day I stop gaming. Online is more of a side-experience I rarely do.
