Broken Age to star Elijah Wood as Shay

First half of point-and-click adventure to launch in January.

Broken Age, Double Fine Productions‘ Kickstarted adventure game, will star Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood as main character Shay, the studio announced at VGX.

The point-and-click adventure tells the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster, but decides to fight back. And the boy is on a spaceship is living a controlled life under the care of a motherly computer, but wants to escape to pursue his own adventure.

The first half of the game will launch in January 2014. The second half will be released as a free update around April or May.
