  • TheExile285

    Next week! :D

    • Xaltmas

Hey, if you see this, can you ask why I got banned from Siliconera? I figured if they were gonna do it, they would’ve done it a while ago, not now. :P

      • Budgiecat

        lol

      • TheExile285

I will PSN message you about it.

        • Xaltmas

          Cool, thanks.

          • TheExile285

Can you send me a message to start? I have you added but don’t remember your ID off the top of my head.

            • Xaltmas

              Done.

      • mirumu

        Ah, sorry to hear that.

        • Xaltmas

Honestly, I was surprised it didn’t happen sooner.

          Oh well.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

That doesn’t speak too well of how you’ll do here if you were already expecting them to ban you, lol.

            • Xaltmas

Oh, I have no plans of posting here regularly.

Hell, I’m pretty sure me and you have gone at it before about Final Fantasy or something.

              • TheExile285

                lol

              • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

If we have, I certainly don’t remember it. Still, you’re not missing out on much at Siliconera anyway, honestly. I butted heads with a couple of the editors over there before, simply because of differing opinions, and I just got tired of their drama. One of them was really pro-Nintendo, so any time I had something to say about one of the Wii/DS/etc. games at the time, they would give me a “warning”, which was bullshit since other people were doing the same thing.

Then you had the other guy that was pro-Microsoft that would also give me shit for badmouthing the 360 at any point. I don’t know how the hell they got their “jobs” if their jimmies are getting rustled every time someone disagrees with them on something. If my editor-in-chief would have seen me talking to members like these guys were, back when I was writing game articles, he would have had my head. It was very unprofessional of them to behave in such a manner.

You expect the members of the community to go back and forth about opinions, sometimes slinging mud in the process, but an editor/moderator/admin is supposed to be a mediator… A neutral party. For them to simply jump in and start shit with me after choosing sides, no… That’s just deplorable and they should feel ashamed for their actions as a “professional”, honestly.

Sorry about the tangent though. That place just left a bad taste in my mouth, that’s all.

                • Xaltmas

I find it hard to fit in at a lot of Japanese-oriented gaming sites, because while I love JP games, I’m not big into JRPGs.

At Siliconera, there were at least a few people I could talk about stuff with that didn’t revolve around Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.

                  • mirumu

You’re not the only one. I don’t think Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts are as well liked as they were in the past. I largely avoid/ignore all mention of them myself these days.

                    • Xaltmas

Gematsu and Siliconera both seem to have a large group of people who exist in some kind of vacuum were Square Enix still has the reputation they had in the 90s, and to question anything they do is some kind of treason.

                    • mirumu

I think most fanbases have members who look at things that way and don’t really see the reality. I just put it down to people liking what they like, which is fine. People are not always self-aware enough to see their biases creeping in to a discussion. I’ll usually move on at that stage rather than go in circles.

P.S. Not implying I don’t have biases myself, but I try to at least be conscious of it.

                • Altin

If there is one thing you are not allowed to do on Siliconera, it is having an opinion which is not symbiotic with the Opinion of the Moderator. It’s their cryptonite. But they can have their good times every now and then.

      • ( `Д´)ノ)`ν゜)

Anti-Nintendo opinions would be an educated guess

        • Xaltmas

I own a Wii U, a 3DS and I talk about the Legend of Zelda series like it’s the second coming.

I can only be so anti-Nintendo.

      • Xорошо 不死鳥 Zikk

        Wait? You were? I didn’t realize >.<

Anyways, I also just saw Exile's post on OT, I'll be adding your PSN. My PSN is also the same name as the one on Disqus :D

    • MasterSensei

Is it only available as a digital download next week but a physical copy next year? because as much as I like Ys I also would like it as a physical copy

      • TheExile285

Physical copy and DD for NA. Not only that, there is a $60 limited edition you should probably get if you are a big Ys fan.

        http://gematsu.com/2013/08/ys-memories-of-celceta-limited-edition-announced

        • MasterSensei

Blast! Why is the Physical copy coming out next year but the digital copy is coming out next week? It makes no sense!

          • TheExile285

Not sure what you are talking about. The physical release IS next week too.

            • MasterSensei

Hmmmm… but Amazon UK says that it is being released on February, 2014. is that the UK release date… I have no idea what’s going on with release dates any more…

              • TheExile285

NA release is next week. EU release is in 2014.

                • MasterSensei

I want to buy the NA version but if they release any DLC for it I won’t be able to play it…. maybe I should re-locate to a different country since it seems that the EU keeps getting screwed over when it comes to release dates

                  • TheExile285

                    The game has no DLC

  • BossTuff

I completely forgot I had this pre-ordered. Though I haven’t had a chance to finish meruru yet, this one definitely seems more interesting.

  • MrFinalgamer

between this and Tearaway my vita is going to get so much use =D

  • Budgiecat

Does Adol ever take a vacation?

    • Raiyu

Going on adventures IS the vacation

      • Budgiecat

okay then……does Adol ever go to work?

        • thekingq8y

wtf do you really need to know?

          • LordKaiser

            He wants to scratch him.

        • HighBrowDrifter

More important question would be……does this redhead ever get laid?

          • Kevadu

            He’s got Dogi!

            • HighBrowDrifter

Hahaha! He better be a “power” bottom…things might get a little “rough”…..oh puss, I am dirty (ಥ⌣ಥ)✌

              -Derhrty_Prrruss

          • LordKaiser

So many women desire him yet he stays with none.

        • Raiyu

Of course he works, he saves the world while on adventures! That’s a tough job and not just anyone can do it.

  • ayb_91

Looks great. But, can we control the camera view?

    • Blaz

no, that was never available in a Ys game

      • ayb_91

It would be nice if there were…

  • OlimacFTW

Only by hearing the music is enough motivation to buy this game.

  • Adol Christin

    :)

    • LordKaiser

remove the a on the last name.

  • LordKaiser

I still like the old art that lasted till Ys Origins. I don’t dig the new art… But at least the gameplay remains solid..

    old art:

    http://static.zerochan.net/Olha.full.296526.jpg

Just click the link, almost all the pages about old Ys pics are dead.

  • MasterSensei

I’ve never played a Ys game but I’m REALLY interested in this. Do I need to play through the old games in order to understand the story and characters in this? I heard somewhere that the characters in this game were in the previous games too…

    • Raiyu

Story-wise, the games don’t have a connection except Origins, Ys 1 & 2. You can pretty much start wherever you want. As a first timer, I’d recommend playing through Ys Seven since its closet to Celceta’s battle system and its a bit easier than the other games.

  • Strid

Calilica’s annoyin’ battle voice makes me super glad I haven’t the need to wait for such atrocities.
