Countdown to launch with 'Xbox One Countdown to Launch.'

Microsoft is hosting “dozens” of launch events for Xbox One this Friday in cities like New York, Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Paris, and Toronto.

The New York and Los Angeles festivities will be live broadcast on Spike TV at 11 p.m. Eastern / 8 p.m. Pacific time on Thursday, November 21.

In New York, the celebration will be held at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square, and feature Dead Rising 3 zombies, game developer interviews and gameplay, and live a performance from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The first 1,000 fans to line up outside the Best Buy Theater who purchase an Xbox One or Xbox One game will secure entry to the concert and the opportunity to experience Forza Motorsport 5, Killer Instinct, and other Xbox One titles. Special guests, like Stallion83, who is close to achieving one million Xbox LIVE Gamerscore, will also be present.

In Los Angeles, the celebration will be held at Milk Studios, which will offer gameplay stations for Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and other Xbox One titles. The first 500 people to purchase an Xbox One or Xbox One game will enjoy an exclusive concert with Deadmau5.

For those without access to Spike TV, the launch event can also be viewed at GameTrailers.com and the GameTrailers.com app.

In related news, Microsoft released a series of Xbox One ‘Day One Countdown’ promotional videos today. Watch those below.

    Whoa, there’s one in Sydney.
That is impressive that there’s launch events all over.

Microsoft’s strike at Europe is going to be very interesting to watch unfold.

who would downvote a comment like this?

      • Budgiecat

        Maybe someone named Syndey…

  • Willgaea

I can’t really ever seeing this type of event happening for a new release of a Pc. Sorry god race :P

    • $18114340

Are you seriously trying to start shit over nothing? Like PCs stagger “new releases” every 8 years. That doesn’t even make sense. There’s no such thing as a “new” PC launch event because there’s no such thing as a “new” PC launch.

      • Willgaea

I hear what your saying, and you make a valid point. I’m just happy to see event’s like these pop up every now and then. Also I believe the launch of a PC isn’t as important to broadcast, because of the large amount of producers. I also like to point out that I’m happy that the market is big making it cheaper for me to buy PC’s, although I haven’t bought one in a while, nor do I plan to.

    • Zancrow

That’s because a PC consists of a lot of single parts.

There are no events, but nerds fap over their Titans equally.

  • Solomon_Kano

No mention of any reveals or anything? Ah well.

    • Invisbin

Yeah..Sony got me to buy a PS4 because they were showing me a good reason to invest my money in the PS4. Microsoft on the other hand, is not selling it for me with just those launch titles.

      • http://www.cubiz.tk/ Auragar

PS4 launch titles are crap too. Even if the PS4 wasn’t sold out I wouldn’t have bought one.

        • Invisbin

That wasn’t my point. That’s almost all we know, launch titles and maybe what Halo? Microsoft hasn’t been announcing anything, whereas Sony has about 30 Games releasing from now until March. Do we now any for Xbox One? As much?

          • http://www.cubiz.tk/ Auragar

Ah! Well I can’t think of 30 games coming to PS4 unless you count indie and MMO games which most aren’t appealing to me (not really important though).

            • Invisbin

Well that’s what I mean. Indie or not, we knew what’s coming to the Ps4 up until March. For Xbox One, we just know launch titles and a couple time exclusive games. If they wouldn’t announced more games, as much as Sony, then I’d put up money to invest into the Xbox One.

              • http://www.cubiz.tk/ Auragar

Right, yah I get what you are saying. Which is why I put the parenthetical statement at the end. It doesn’t matter if I (or anybody really) likes them. They are offering choices, which is always a good thing to do.

        • Elvick

Opinions. Though I think his comment is unnecessary.

          • http://www.cubiz.tk/ Auragar

Yes it is opinion. And yes his comment wasn’t necessary or at least it could have been worded better.

  • Rezar

I watched the Sony Launch so I might as well watch this Thursday.

    • http://zefhar.deviantart.com Zefhar

I’m a Sony fan. But after last week’s event, XBox One can only do better.

  • Bobby Jennings

    I look forward to this.

  • Pekola

They’re pulling all the stops with their marketing. Of course they can’t afford to lose NA or UK, because that’s where their core market is.

It’s gonna be fun seeing all the next-gen hype unfold.

  • Sevyne

You’ll see a ton of folks duking it out all over the internet and hurling insults towards each console, but I actually look forward to Sony and MS duking it out most of all. With new consoles out in the wild they’re both going to do everything they can to win over the regions they are releasing in, and we shall reap the rewards.

    • $18114340

The competition between console companies has always been interesting just to see what kind of tricks each side will pull.

The competition between random internet tryhards… not so much.

      • Sevyne

I completely agree. The fanboy wars are quite ridiculous most of the time, but Sony and MS trying to 1up each other will be excellent for everyone.

  • Learii

too bad i won’t be able to see it =(

  • shogunknight

Since the X1 is being released in the US and parts of Europe, it may not be a suprise if their 24hr launch window also reaches 1 million units sold like the PS4, if not even more. Damn, the demand for next gen consoles is very strong. Consoles arent going anywhere for quite a long time

    • Sevyne

Good point on the multi-region release of the X1. It could hit that mark. Though I also wonder how PS4 will do in EU with it coming out the week after X1.

Also, I agree that consoles aren’t going away any time soon.

    • Gigus

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the X1 did sell more units then the ps4 due to its multi-region release. But you gotta admit that 1 million in one day is pretty impressive in one region alone.
Now the question is, will MS do the same in NA alone? In my opinion, maybe. I think with the recent 180s they’ve done with their X1 polices were enough to win back their core audience.

Another question comes to mind though. Were these change in policies enough to bring in a new audience? Again in my opinion, maybe.

      • Budgiecat

        lol no

        • Gigus

          XD

  • Learii

there anyway I can watch this if I miss it?

  • LordKaiser

Can you imagine if the numbers are lower than the PS4?

    • Gigus

That would be surprising, but are you specifically talking about its NA or multi-region launch numbers?

      • LordKaiser

NA the core base region of the Xbox.

        • Gigus

Hmm…… yeah I’d be sorta surprised if it was lower than the ps4. That would really say the reversals of past X1 policies weren’t enough.

  • LordKaiser
    • Willgaea

That Ultra at the end. :]

My cousin would always kick my ass with Orchid :[
