Enhanced version action RPG sequel hits Japan in February.

Marvelous AQL is releasing an enhanced version of Valhalla Knights 3 in Japan on February 27, this week’s Famitsu reveals.

The 5,229 yen Valhalla Knights 3 Gold will offer improved battle speed and operability, story additions, shorter load times, and is described as close to a full remake.

Save data from the original release can be used in Valhalla Knights 3 Gold. And it will also be compatible with PS Vita TV.

New facilities like the Red Light District’s “Erotica Heaven”, new races like the Angel and Demon, and five new jobs, including the Gunner, are being added.

The game will also have ad-hoc and Wi-Fi multiplayer in the form of co-op and competitive battle modes.

Early buyers will receive the limited “Challenge from a Saint” quest, “Dark Lord’s Work Bid” item, and “Want to Undress More! Phantom Limit Girigiri Armor” item.

Thanks, Sinobi.

We JUST got the English version! I hope this new stuff can be released on the vanilla version as DLC…….

Edit: why so many Downvote? Are people seriously OK with this even though XSEED could have waited and localized this version and done another game instead?

  • fyi1191

Well, now I’m glad I waited.

  • PrinceHeir

    wow already!!

also i wonder if is indeed the same game but with all the improvements ala Super, Subsistence, Director’s Cut version of a game?

if Xseed decides to localize this, i hope they finally include the JPN audio :)

looks like i’ll wait out on this one!

    • DrForbidden

Hmm. Do you honestly think that this will get localised, given the poor reception of the vanilla game in western markets?

      • TheExile285

Well XSEED said they were expecting this to get the lowest sales for this out of their upcoming games back before Kill is Dead came out. If reviews were the reason for localizations, we wouldn’t get a lot of games like this, RO:Ace, Killer is Dead or hell even Hometown Story (yes, different publisher but still)

        • DrForbidden

It’s not just about reviews. It’s also about sales. Localisation costs money, and if the vanilla game underperformed terribly, where is the incentive to spend more money to localise the upgraded version?

          • sherimae1324

how did you know it got poor sales? as far as i know the first 2 also didnt do well but did enough to make a profit in the long run besides its xseed were talking about the publisher of niche and full of surprises, were also getting RO ACE remember?

            • DrForbidden

Well, would anyone actually think this game ‘sells well’?

I suppose it’s true it sells ‘well enough’ for XSEED to keep localising the franchise, so okay, I guess it stands as much chance of localisation as any entry in the series.

          • TheExile285

While all of that is true, I don’t think XSEED was expecting good sales from this. Based on what I’ve seen, its a pretty minimal localization with barely any VA so I would think that even if the game is selling badly (which it most likely is), they will still break even and make a profit.

            I could be wrong

            • DrForbidden

              Good point.

      • Elvick

Eh, I can’t imagine reviews matter for them on this one.

Besides, VK*3 is the highest rated game in the series.

        • DrForbidden

I was confused awhile until I realised you mean VK3…

Anyway, I wasn’t just referring to the reviews. still you have a point. XSEED keeps localising VK games despite the poor sales of previous entries, so I guess this upgraded release stands as good a chance as any other entry.

          • Elvick

            Oops. xD

      • wat_wat

Every single Valhalla Knights game has been localized. This will too most likely. Kinda sucks for me because I took a dive and finally bought this yesterday after being on the fence. Then this news pops up D:

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

    lol wow…

  • Infernal Monkey

    Wow, a full-priced patch.

    • AdamBoy64

Wow, what’s Infernal Monkey doing over in these parts?
Anyway, it certainly does seem like it’s a patch, it’s a bit weak, really.

  • bloodiOS

Is the game going to be operating at the Vita’s native resolution this time?

  • tubers

IDK if w/c trend is worse this (G/Delta/Ace/etc.) or DLCs.

    • sherimae1324

  • Alkhan

Hopefully XSEED won’t waste time localizing this and can actually use that time to get us even more caught up on the Legend Of Heroes games.

    • sherimae1324

sadly they will chose this over sen no kiseki because its much more easier (atleast for me) and based on RO odyssey we will get the upgraded version too next year…..

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

If only localization works the way you think it does.

      • Alkhan

I know exactly how localization works and have for 2 decades, thanks.

  • Elvick

    This is annoying…

    • TheExile285

What really sucks is that MarvelousAQL owns XSEED. They knew this was happening and XSEED could have waited for this version and localized something else.

Like Senran Kagura Burst earlier and then Shinvoi Versus for 2014 >____>

  • Sevyne

This re-releasing games with some improvements shortly after the original’s release, and charging full price is starting to get pretty annoying. When I say pretty annoying I mean absolutely infuriating by the way. Couldn’t this stuff be an update to the already existing game? Damn…

    • Mar Mar

Imo they shouldn’t have made the game in the first place and just release this one. Or iust make it an update.

  • DesmaX
  • Claude

    They didn’t waste any time.
The updated version of VK2 never left Japan so I wouldn’t hold my breath here.

    • TheExile285

Yeah it did. Its PSN only

      • Claude

        You learn something new everyday!

        Still wouldn’t hold my breath.

  • divinelite

don’t need it anyway. 30 hours poured into VK3 and still upset of graphic and no expression face… and those two are not updated anyway

  • MrKappa

I never got around to buying Valhalla Knights 3 as I’m busy with other games but after this news I think I’ll skip.

  • Leon_Tekashi

Welp, this is another kick in the nuts from Marvelous AQL. .__.

  • Syltique

Haven’t even had the game for 2 months.

This is a great way to make your loyal niche audience feel like fools.

You can only take someone’s money so many times before they start to get bitter, XSEED. You have no one to blame but yourself for anyone waiting for price drops now.

    • DrForbidden

      To be fair, this isn’t XSEED’s fault…

    • Syltique

Yeah, North American release date was Oct. 15th.

    • Kevadu

Dude, Xseed just translates the games. They don’t develop them…

      • Sevyne

It’s a Marverlous AQL game though, so XSEED knew about this game version no doubt.

  • Barrit

For anyone who has played the game, can you explain the picture in this article? It looks like a zombie is standing on the table behind her, and all you see is its dirty, zombie legs.

    • Shirayuri

From what I can remember, it’s a Statue.

    • Santashi

You can pick how dirty (in the literal sense!) characters are that you create, but that looks more like marbling for some reason.

    • SOLOmio

yup is one of the statues on star kiss guild shop!!
      and that’s how they appear!!

  • Warboss Aohd

    Dick Move Developers, dick move.

  • Learii

I wait for this one the since I didn’t buy VK3 yet

  • SOLOmio

    Son of b***!
23 thrown in the trash and the game lags to much cause it wasn’t meant too it be on VITA seems!

  • SOLOmio

    i want my cash back!

  • Zouro

i have VK3 and ill buy this one because i loved 1 and 2 (and battle stance) 3 is pretty awesome and this has new classes + races sooooo its a must for me
