Fumito Ueda “terribly sorry” for The Last Guardian delay
"Mre than anything I feel terribly sorry," director says.
The Last Guardian director Fumito Ueda is “terribly sorry” for the lengthy wait fans have faced since the game’s 2009 reveal, he told Edge magazine.
“Putting aside the short-term output, more than anything I feel terribly sorry that for various reasons I have kept my audience waiting for such a long time,” Ueda said.
Ueda left Sony in 2011, but has continued working on The Last Guardian as a freelance developer. He still comes into Sony Japan’s Shinagawa office regularly.
The Last Guardian, announced for PlayStation 3 at E3 2009, has long been suspected to be moved to PlayStation 4. Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida recently said he ‘couldn’t recall’ if he last played the game with a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3 controller.
