North American limited edition to cost $79.99.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma will launch for PlayStation 3 in North America in March 2014, Aksys Games has announced.

The publisher also priced the game’s previously announced limited edition at $79.99. It includes a 40-page art book, soundtrack CD, nendoroid figurine of Rachel Alucard, special features Blu-ray, and a fighting moves poster.

Praise the lord, take my money!

  • MrKappa

So it looks like that March date was true… but are kidding me? 5 months later?
We better not end up with crap ass Extend quality for having to wait this long.

    • tokyobassist

They should include the DLC characters for free in the US release. It’s Arcsys so they won’t.

      • TheExile285

Why should they be free for US? Correct if I’m wrong, but they weren’t free in the Japan release and they paid more for the game itself.

        • tokyobassist

Because they are already completed by the time it comes out here. Also I don’t think the game should withhold content like that especially with the new consoles around the corner.

But whatever, if Arcsys wants to be punkasses about it especially when it comes to making Jubei a playable character then I just won’t buy it. I was willing to give the game a shot but I’ll just wait for Guilty Gear instead.

DLC characters are ruining fighting games especially when they aren’t even made months after release to support the game. They are made to entice you into buying a game day one out of fear that you’re missing out of a crucial element for competitive play: characters.

If you don’t think GG will have dlc you will be in for a shock

            • tokyobassist

Obviously and there is nothing wrong with DLC if handled RIGHT. This is just abusing the system of DLC. Something substantial like the Ultra Street Fighter 4 DLC is $15 to upgrade your current copy or $40 if you never bought it or need the ease of content parity at tournaments isn’t as polarizing as charging people for content that’s already completely. Fuck it if it costs a full $60 to purchase a game with DLC characters included. At least it’s a complete game with announcer voices and colors being DLC. At least it’s not interrupting the core game like the absence of a character would.

They could’ve honestly made every iteration of CS DLC but they didn’t. CS2 changed core mechanics of the game with a patch and you’re telling me they couldn’t just add Relius as part of an Extend DLC when that’s all most people playing this game want?

Why do people insist on justifying bullshit?

          • DrForbidden

I have to agree with you. If Terumi wasn’t ready at launch in Japan, he sure as hell will be at US launch. If he doesn’t come free, then it’s a very obvious nickel-and-diming. I very much doubt they will give up that n&d dough, though.

It’s quite unfortunate that fighting games have gone down this road, but I suppose we still have the option of waiting for the ‘complete’ edition, at the expense of a smaller online crowd.

            • tokyobassist

Yeah man. I play mainly KoF XIII and it’s already a pain the ass to play with other people when nobody actually takes the game seriously enough to have the DLC characters downloaded.

Seeing how I play one of the DLC characters it’s a problem every time because the characters are locked on the disc. Luckily I got one for free, the other for cheap and the other on a sale on my system so I only spent like $5 instead of like $9 or $10 but it’s still a wack move.

        • tokyobassist

And your argument completely fails considering a game as such Killer Is Dead receiving not only the same exclusive DLC content (still not publicly available) as the Japanese Famitsu DX Premium Edition (except the 4 collectable cards) but we also got an hardcover 40-page artbook and soundtrack as well in Western territories for way less money.

But I guess Westerners shouldn’t have paid more huh?

  • Sevyne

    Totally getting the limited edition.

  • http://kougeru.tumblr.com/ Kougeru

Great. EVERY game I want that
is coming out in 2014 is in March. I cant afford all that T_T.

  • ayb91

One of the best fighting games. Thanks to ps+ for letting me know BlazBlue ( Vita version ).

  • icup ✔️

do we get dlc characters on disc for free considering the 5 months wait…

  • TheExile285

Ample time to finish CSE and save up for that LE ^_^

  • Daverost

I used to want this. Then they told me it was $80. Now I don’t care.

    • MrFinalgamer

i know! how dare they charge us 20 extra dollars for an optional special edition! just outrageous!

      • Kevadu

Seriously. If the figure is a full Nendoroid (not a petite), those are typically $35-40 by themselves. And then there’s the soundtrack, artbook, blu-ray, and poster. That’s a crazy good LE.

        • Sevyne

The Nendoroid is a petit. Still totally worth the extra $20 for the limited edition though.

          • Kevadu

That’s a shame. I kind of suspected as much but couldn’t actually find anything that said so.

      • Daverost

I’m exercising my option to not buy it.

        • MrFinalgamer

and there’s nothing bad about it. but in your comment it sounds that you’re not buying it since it’s $80, when that’s the price for the LE, not the normal game. i’m sorry if i sounded a bit rude

          • Daverost

Correct, I’m not buying the LE since it’s $80. I’ll be buying the SE for $50.

  • icup ✔️

for those that wonder why it’s being delayed for 5 months is to prevent the japanese from buying the cheaper western copy. which tends to be the case for most delay(s) in the west. we all know the english voice overs are already in the asian/jp copies.

    • Raiyu

But all the other games came out around the same time.

    • DrForbidden

The voices for some modes are available in English, yes, but the text and the voices in story mode are not. So it’s not confirmed that the localised version is completely ready at this time. May take them a few more months work.

I can’t deny the possibility of what you wrote, though.

  • artemisthemp

Have anyone found a place that, carry the Limited Edition?

    • DrForbidden

Most places don’t seem to have opened up pre-orders yet. May have to wait a week or two.

  • DrForbidden

Wow, USD80 for the Nendoroid-included LE is a really good deal, considering how much Nendoroids usually sell for…

EDIT: Amazon has the regular edition PO listed at $50… not sure if a mistake? o_0
Didn’t the previous games go for $60?

  • DriftSlave

    It’s done…I will get the limited Edition…

  • fireemblembeast

Wow only 80 bucks? Count me in!

  • [Guillem ]

We want a Vita version!! Pleaseeee!!

  • FucSh1a

What exactly is a fighting moves poster? Like a poster with all the button inputs for specials/DDS?

  • PrinceHeir

good price for the things it lists :D
