Acttil and Elemental Labs have launched the Kickstarter campaign for Reborn, its new sci-fi third-person multiplayer action RPG for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
The California-based studio is seeking $200,000 to develop the fall 2014-due RPG. The game is being planned as a digital release, but will be upgraded to a physical release if it reaches its $1.5 million stretch goal.
Currently, the game is only announced for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, but there are stretch goals for other platforms. $550,000 will ensure a PC release; $750,000 a PS Vita version; and $1.09 million an Xbox One version. The game will be developed on Unreal Engine 3 for PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PC, and Unreal Engine 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Reborn is set in Neo-Tokyo and follows a futuristic version of the famed Japanese swordsman Musashi Miyamoto as he clashes with cyber-enhanced gangs and oppressive corporate overlords. It offers four gameplay pillars—combat, stealth, augmentation, and social perception—a story mode campaign, and a four-player multiplayer team campaign.
