PlanetSide 2 hits PlayStation 4 in early 2014

Sony Online's MMO shooter to follow DC Universe Online.

The PlayStation 4 version of free-to-play online shooter PlanetSide 2 will launch in early 2014, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley has confirmed.

Speaking with Bloomberg, Smedley said, “We’re going to be following up that [DC Universe Online‘s availability on PlayStation 4 at launch] in early next year with our next game PlanetSide 2 for PS4.”

Though previously confirmed for the platform, a release date for PlanetSide 2 was not announced. Now, at least, we have a time frame.
