What lengths would you go to defend your home?

Sony and Guerrilla Games have released a new story trailer for Killzone: Shadow Fall, coming to PlayStation 4 on launch day November 15.

“To what lengths would you go to defend your home?” said Guerrilla Games’ Poria Torkan on the PlayStation Blog. “That’s the central question in this brand-new story trailer for Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Torkan continued, “On planet Vekta, where rival Helghast and Vektan factions are living side by side under an uneasy truce, the answer depends entirely on who you ask. To Chancellor Visari, leader of the displaced Helghast people, the Vektans are aggressors that must be kept in check by whatever means necessary. To Vektan Security Agency Director Sinclair, the biggest threat to peace is the very presence of the Helghast people.

“Sinclair and Visari aren’t the only ones at odds over their plans for planet Vekta. Behind the scenes, forces within each faction have begun warring and conspiring to further their own agendas. Some, like the extremist splinter group Black Hand, want to force an all-out civil war. Others, like Helghast intelligence operative Echo, are desperately trying to prevent it. As Shadow Marshal Lucas Kellan, you must deal with the escalating hostilities before they envelop the entire planet — but you’ll quickly discover that trust is a scarce resource on Vekta.”

i want the helghast win for one time

    • G.

Play Killzone Mercenary then. Some of the boss fights are against the ISA and Vektan natives.

TBH its true the vekta’s started the whole war but still the idiot’s after visari where the ones that nuked the whole damn planet but its easy to spin the truth

    • bloodiOS

Now now, don’t bend the truth, it was Sev who blasted a missile into Stahl’s ship (to stop him from destroying Earth), which in turns nuked Helghan.

      • Luna Kazemaru

which still falls on stahl sev hit the warp drives that it. The whole nuking of helghan falls on stall for trying to be someone he wasnt (visari) and trying to preform an idiotic plan

        • bloodiOS

But it doesn’t change the fact that one of the ISA fired the shot that ultimately caused the disaster.

          • Gigus

It was a lose/lose situation if you ask me. sevchenko had to make a choice. Determining whether it was right or wrong is pretty much stuck on a grey area.

            • bloodiOS

I’m not really arguing whether or not it was right or wrong but the situation is that those who were there, ISA and Helghast survivor alike, all saw how it unfolded and that all it took. Sure, they selectively remembers only facts that are convenient to their cause, but you can’t really say the Helghasts twisted the truth because at the end of that battle in KZ3, that was how things turned out.

              • Gigus

lulz stupid phone auto deleted my sentence about my opinion being off topic XD. Back on topic though, it still is a grey area though on who to blame for the annihilation of the helghan planet but blaming the entire isa seems alittle off. Both the isa, stalh, sev, and helghast are at fault.

                • bloodiOS

Well, let’s be simple here. Gotta keep their people strong and united through their mutual hatred towards the ISA, unnecessary details not benefiting the cause can just go jump out the window ;)

                  • Gigus

XD. We really don’t know what the full story is for shadowfall but I really think that Visari’s daughter does not know what really went down. I think that same council we saw in KZ3 is still operating and stahl is still alive (ending from KZ3). So they could be hiding the truth from the helghan people and their new leader. If I’m right I pretty much killed the story for you and me lulz.

                    • bloodiOS

Well, I’ll be honest with you, I play Killzone for the graphics and multiplayer, not the story so I don’t really care how the story turn out ;)
As long that it isn’t as bad as BF3 that I can’t even move past the first 30 minutes…

  • jujubee88

I’ll buy, but most likely for online MP

    • Budgiecat

Isn’t this the case with most MP centric FPS games….

Facial animation looks wonky for a PS4 title. Beyond and The Last of Us and L.A. Noire still do that better,

  • shogunknight

Great trailer, nice to work for the helghans. Looking forward to this

  • Zackasaur

Wow, I’m looking forward to this!

  • badmoogle

I like the art direction shown in this trailer except for the character faces and their animations.

  • Crossbones (Prodigy-X)

    KZ:SF > BF4 >>>>> COD Ghosts

This game looks impressive. I still love Killzone 2, hopefully this will become my favorite :).

    • AnimusVox

I loved KZ2, was a bit disappointed with 3 but Shadow Fall looks damn good.

      • captainhowdy

Agreed! In KZ2 the story and characters were more interesting, the dark lower parts in the gave it more of a gritty look, than Gears of War and COD combined. I loved of the Helgast looked as well, they had more of a sinister look to them in those dark alleys.

KZ3 was just lacking with the level design and story to me. There was nothing to keep me motivated to finish the game. Even KZ3’s multiplayer was different :/.

Shadow Fall does look awesome and the story sounds way more interesting than 3’s. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game.

  • Gigus

Wow, the story seems to be even more immersive (might be wrong choice of word lol) than it was before.
