Akiba’s Trip 2 has collaborations with NIS, Falcom, more

It also has an in-game anime called Striprism.

Akiba’s Trip 2 will have collaborations with AliceProject, Genshiken, Nippon Ichi Software, Nihon Falcom, Spike Chunsoft, Hyperdimension Neptunia, and Million Arthur, this week’s Famitsu reveals.

The magazine doesn’t detail what these collaborations entail, but we imagine they’re for ads you’ll see throughout the game’s rendition of Akihabara, or for costumes the protagonist and partner characters can wear. The bus running through Akihabara will feature Ragnarok Odyssey Ace wrapping, for example.

The game will also have its own in-game anime called “Striprism,” which is described as similar to PreCure or Madoka Magica.

Akiba’s Trip 2 is due out for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in Japan on November 7.

Thanks, Game Nyarth.

If NIS is involved that means there’s a chance we might get this right? O_O

Er, sounds more like a cameo, really. I don’t think it means much one way or another.

Still, this game has a better shot of making it over than the original simply by virtue of not being stuck on the PSP.

If Hakuoki is getting over here (on PS3 no less which I thought had a ‘perma ban’ on VN’s in the West) as well as JoJo ASB, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom made it over previously (dat multi licensing issues), now anything is possible.

Except Tales of Innocence R and Hearts R.

only if Vita sales are much better than what they are currently. Baba himself already pretty much said so.

            • STiger

That’s the thing though, the system needs games if it’s going to sell. Baba isn’t helping the case.

              • Chris Yuen

he have to answer to his stockholders as well. As much as I did like to have the two titles on the Vita, Baba had readily admitted that it wouldn’t be that much of a system seller which will encourage others to buy a Vita for it.

I mean, although ToX sold 1 million+ worldwide, the majority of it still came from the Japanese side (600,000+ copies) and counting.

ToIr and ToHr didn’t sell all that great in Japan. We can’t expect him to bring it over just because we demand for it. What’s in it for him?

Can anyone really assure him and his team that it’s going to be a sure hit if they bring it over?

No Sega, Namco or Capcom collaborations? Meh

Is that image supposed to be that ingame anime Striprism? It looks like Kodomo no Jikan. =3

  • Eclipse

I could be wrong, but isn’t that collaboration supposed to be AliceSoft?

Can’t wait to see what the Neptune one is like~!

Bwahahaha. The header image is so awesome I’m ready to buy the game…when I’ll get the money to. My budget for November is already set, so I’ll have to get this later.

    > Kodomo no Jikan

    Sold! And I just got myself a 3DS XL and Pokemon Y a few days ago! ;A;

    • kurosan9712

Yeah, that’s how games like this manage to get sold before release. Too bad my money is already reserved for other pre-orders.
But…maybe I should cancel one and get this…looks too cool, and…Kodomo no Jikan collaboration is too good to be true. I totally loved the anime and manga…as well as some doujin game.

      • ekibyougami

I, for one, would get this. Most likely not Day One, but I will most definitely buy this after I recover some spending money allotted for vidyagaems!

        • kurosan9712

No-no, it’s not even a question if I would get this. After that image at the start of the article it’s already decided I would. But the question is – at release or later. Currently, it’s set to later, but I can always cancel one of my pre-orders and order this.
