A homage to the bank mission in Thief II: The Metal Age.

Consumers who pre-order Thief will receive an exclusive in-game mission called “The Bank Heist,” Square Enix has announced.

The mission, a homage to the bank heist in Thief II: The Metal Age, tasks Garrett with breaching the city’s most secure location and never breached Stonemarket First Bank to steal a coveted family heirloom known as the Star of Auldale.

Thief is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on February 25. Watch the pre-order bonus trailer below. See some screenshots at the gallery.

    I I’ll pre-order for PS4, then!

That’s what I get for commenting with my phone. :c

    Garrett, I’ve missed you!

I’ve never played a Thief game before, but have heard great things.
Should I start with this one?

Considering there’s still a while before this game comes out, I’d recommend playing the older games if you have a PC decent enough to run them. Mind you, the most recent Thief game is from 2004 so… Chances are, unless your PC is FROM 2004, it’ll be fine :P

I think I’ll do just that. Thank you sir!

Out of the ones already released, which would you say is the best?

My personal favorite was Deadly Shadows, the third game, but maybe that’s just fond memories because I played through the whole thing with my brother so we’d take turns and talk smack about enemies. Still though, damn fun game.

They’re pretty legendary and excellent games. They’re influential, too! Thus, I’d definitely say they’re worth a try if this sort of game is up your alley.

They are not necessary to play this new Thief, so you can viably start with this one. The old games are obviously just that, too: Old. If the old graphics, animations, limitations, etc. are a bother to you, you can take relief in knowing that this new entry is cutting edge. If you don’t want to play the older games, or even if you play them and don’t like them, you will likely enjoy this new Thief if you’ve liked newer games like Dishonored.

If you’re the least bit curious about the old games, though, I definitely say give them a try. c:

Thanks again. I Have always wanted to give the older Thief titles a play, but couldn’t keep up with newer games coming out. With the exception of Killzone SF, and Maybe Warframe, I will have a good amount of time to actually get into them.

        Thanks again for the info!
