Pictlogica Final Fantasy incoming?

Square Enix has registered the domain name Pictlogica-FF.com.

The company also trademarked “Pictlogica” in Japan, according to FF-Reunion’s Aibo.

The name sounds similar to Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Given the “FF” in the domain name, perhaps Square Enix is developing a “picture logic” puzzle game called Pictlogica Final Fantasy?

Thanks, NeoGAF.

As long as it isn’t mobile…but it probably will be.

Let me guess, yet another cash in?

    • surakian

Well if it is related to FF, it sounds like some kind of pictography logic game like a brain training, puzzle game xD If you feel that is cashing in, then I suppose it is.

Those are XD they take no effort to make and just rely on the fanbase’s love

        • surakian

Sometimes they do, but I wouldn’t say they take no effort. The developers who work on them do tend to feel a sense of pride for the work they’ve accomplished and wish to deliver a fun product to an audience. I think it is sometimes emotional abuse to create a product linked to a popular name to gain sales or downloads (coughcoughAllTheBravestcough), but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an audience within their fandom who wants a specific product.

If this ends up being anything at all and IS a little puzzle game, sure it will be another game diluting the brand but to many this is probably something really fun and fantastic and will eat it up gladly because they like those kinds of games.

I don’t think it hurts to explore within a genre, especially if it isn’t distracting from other projects…but yeah. If there is a market, I don’t see why they shouldn’t cater to it within reason.

(I don’t think their handling of mobile and social games was within reason, though)

With that all said though it doesnt change the fact that they are just doing it forthe money and not the fans

Seems it was created recently (if I’m reading the info right, August 20th?)

Well if it pans out into anything, we’ll know eventually, lol

I’m no longer amazed by anything related to Square Enix.

That’s sad. They’re making some amazing games, from Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III to Bravely Default and Drakengard 3.

Plus, their western studios have been making amazing titles. Thief is out in February, and I’m excited for that.

I’m excited to see Drakengard 3 – you could say it’s my main point of interest at this TGS, but I consider it to be Yoko Taro/Keiichi Okabe and Access Games’ work rather than Square Enix. The same feeling apply to Eidos’ games.

Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III make a nice debut, but it’s still too early to properly judge them. I’m past the point where nice CG and empty promise can impress me.

Then what makes you think Pictlogica is in fact a work from Square Enix? Chances are that it’s also outsourced just like Drakengard 3 and Theatrhythm. Thus by your logic, it’s not actually related to Square Enix, therefore you’re allowed to be amazed. What’s the actual point in riding this uncertain bandwagon of hate?

Also, I have no idea how you just associated FFXV with nice CG and empty promise. Did you, like, miss both E3 trailers that /demonstrate/ its real-time gameplay and promise or something?

As for Eidos, they wouldn’t even be around if it weren’t for their new found leadership and financial support.

You took too hard on my personal statement. I would like to conclude this my opinion here. Everytime it comes to Square Enix’s topic, it doesn’t end well for both parties.

            • Budgiecat

              your opinion sucks

              • https://twitter.com/GaleGlory89 KiQun

At least I managed my word and not insult anyone.

              • Arcana Gear

saying that opinions sucks, sucks too.

        • Budgiecat

I dont know how you’re excited about Drakengard III and say those things about FF XV and KH III….it should be the other way around. Drakengard III looked like a glitchy liquid poo mess when it was first announced plus I’m not sure I’m feelin all it’s fanservicey non playable NPC’s they’re promoting so much. Fluff much?
At least FF XV showed us proper gameplay and KH has a solid gameplay track record so…

          • https://twitter.com/GaleGlory89 KiQun

Well, that’s what made our opinion “personal”. The knowledge we share about each game is not the same, thus as our opinion. I see you choose to be ignorant, which made you refuse to acknowledge Drakengard 3. What make you so sure FFXV at E3 is gameplay? I remember my lesson with FFXIII first gameplay trailer, so I’m at least trying to be neutral, still I will need more things to properly judge things.

          • Ni ~Algidus~

there was alot of cg and pre-rendered gameplay on XV E3 trailer. you can find the pics and the trailer analyse on the net. so we didn’t get to see ‘proper” gameplay

This really could be fun, loved Theatrhythm also so :P
