It looks… like an SD game, in terms of graphics.

    • uhawww

But it’s really awesome and fun.
It’s a lot like the Scott Pilgrim game in terms of style.

      • bloodiOS

I’ll check it out and see what’s it likes when the time comes.

      wat.

      • bloodiOS

Maybe I should’ve said PS2? The graphics look like something that belongs in the SD era.

        • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

          It’s a deliberate aesthetic choice :|

C’mon man, why do you think people flipped shit for MegaMan 9?

          • bloodiOS

Hey, different strokes for different folks. But really, I only commented on how I felt about the graphics, it’s not like I’ll use it as an excuse to not play the game.

            • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

              Fair enough.

          • Elvick

I hated it. I think it’s bullshit they didn’t go widescreen. I didn’t mind the throwback graphics, just hated that they didn’t use the entire screen.

There’s retro and there’s stupid. And that was stupid.

            • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

              …wrong comment?

              • Elvick

No. I just started it off improperly, since I misread your comment.

So switch “I did” with “I hated it”. In reference to MM9 obviously.

        • Sol badass

Well its a retro style game. Its supposed to look like that. U cant really have mind blowing pixel sprites can you?

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

Because it doesn’t have hyper realistic CoD style graphics? Ok

      • bloodiOS

*LOL* Like I care about Duty Calls.

    • Willgaea

X is going to put a lot of games to shame. As long as a game is fun I’ll play it. Graphics, in my opinion are just a bonus to me. What I really love in a game, is replay value and fun factor.

      • bloodiOS

It’s strange how you and everyone else seem to think that me commenting on the graphics somehow has something to do with whether or not I think the game is fun.

        • Willgaea

Well when I think about the 8 bit games, generally the Wii U doesn’t come to mind. You were obviously hating on Nintendo.

          • bloodiOS

And I said Wii (and also mentioned PS2 below) not Wii U so what’s your point? Sounds to me like you drew a hasty conclusion.

            • Willgaea

If you want a point. I’ll give you one. You sound like a graphic whore.

              • bloodiOS

Just because I commented on the graphics looking like a relic of SD era and haven’t touched anything on the gameplay at all? I admit I like good looking games but I don’t remember ever dismissing them basing solely on graphics. You’re just hating after drawing the wrong conclusion.

                • Willgaea

Your placing a art style on one system. You sound like Paula Deen now.

                  • bloodiOS

I’m using the Wii as an example because it’s newest the SD system around, but mentioning anything older than that might be going too far (with the Wii being better the PS2 as the basic knowledge.) But of course, you gotta hate on that aspect of my comment because you think I’m hating on Nintendo.

                    • Willgaea

It’s just weird that you linked a art style to a system. Hell, that’s like me saying all games on the xbox look HD. I don’t really care about the Nintendo thing.

                    • bloodiOS

You’re really clinging on to that point, huh? It really doesn’t matter to me which SD systems I used, the point being that this game’s graphics looks like SD graphics. Right, I should’ve just said it looks like SD graphics to begin with as it appears less insulting, sorry about that.

                    • Willgaea

Sorry about the graphic slur comment. *bows*.

                    • bloodiOS

So, yeah, I edited the comment, hopefully there won’t be anymore misunderstanding.

    • HeatPhoenix

Why did people jump you? The characters are in an obvious SD (super deformed, google it) style.

  • Bob Obb

YES!!! I played the demo for this on 360, it’s one of the best indies I’ve ever played. But I didn’t want to buy it for that console

  • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

and still no sign of Phantom Breaker…

  • almostautumn

It’s pretty funny: I get way more pumped for these retro-style games than I do most AAA console titles.

I don’t miss the 90’s, but I do miss where gaming was in the 90’s.

    • Charlie

So do I friend, so do I.

  • Budgiecat

Weird. Why didn’t they just use the Phantom Breaker sprites? Looks like a DSi game

  • PrinceHeir

i hope more enemies on screen in 60FPS :P
