I wonder how Nippon Ichi will keep doing this? I’m pretty sure people who buy the main games don’t care (myself included), but this teat is going to be milked dry soon enough.

      speak for urself, mister
i have the console version, but i will still buy this because of portability and added content and all of dlcs included
plus grinding in vita is much more better because of sleep mode

and dont ask for how long NIS will be doing this….
it will continue for aslong as fans demand.. if you dont believe me check the jp site as many fans are asking for this

      • HeatPhoenix

I did speak for myself. The only portable version I’ve played is D1. I don’t see the point of laying down another 60 for something I bought for 60 in the first place. And the only DLC I cared about (Mao) I already got for the PS3 version so…

All I’m saying is that this won’t last forever, look at Disgaea D2’s sales, you know?

        • sherimae1324

lol its 40$ for vita what the hell are u talking about?
i wouldnt be surprised if D2 is also ported to vita with new content,
like ive said aslong as fans demand it will continue

          • HeatPhoenix

Alright, 40 dollars. We’ll see if fans “demand it” when we see the sales for it, alright? Disgaea D2 sold a mere 9000 copies.

            • sherimae1324

every disgaea games on consoles since 1 has all been ported to sony handhelds, with much more content, and after the 4th main game that will be ported to a handheld the vita…
              people still having doubts? lol

              • Zackasaur

Yeah, the handheld versions have always been pretty definitive.

              • HeatPhoenix

The “much more” content you’re talking about was overpriced DLC for the console version. This is NIS making a quick buck, but I mean, by all means buy it if you want it.

            • TheExile285

pretty sure these devs don’t expect the ports to sell more or exactly in the range of the original.

they probably have expectations of like 20-30k. besides, some people wanted a portable D4.

no one is going to force you to buy this

    • Zackasaur

I would never buy Digaea on PS3, personally. But on Vita? Far more appealing.

    • Elvick

Many people don’t care about the console version and only buy the handheld versions… so I guess they should stop making the console versions.

Hell, they should just stop making games. Most people would rather play Call of Duty anyway!

    • almostautumn

I’m in the camp that has never, and will never, buy a Disgaea console title. These games are upwards of 100+ hours and are usually based on rather brief gameplay scenarios— it fits the portable far more than it does console, and as we learned with the PSP in relation to Disgaea going portable— well, I’ll be waiting each and every time for their games to do just that.

It depends. If you haven’t played portables I can see why this seems like a cash-cow— but if you are a portable gamer than really I don’t how a portable gamer even could play the console titles— the standby options of the handhelds are, at this point, IMO, absolutely essential when playing a meaty RPG.

Oof, 7 downvotes. Are you guys reading my post as if I’m saying “Disgaea sucks” or something?

  • Karl Josef

Its better if they just make this game a DLC of the last Disgaea game on Vita. But developers are developers they might change a lot of the games system. ~sana nga -_-

    • sherimae1324

do you even know what are u saying?
you want nis to make disgaea 4 a standalone game a dlc for disgaea 3 for vita? hahaha thx for the laugh ^_^

      • Karl Josef

As is naman may pinagbago ang Disgaea 3 at 4 hahahaha eh nee unti nga pinagbago nila. SUs nagpapayaman lang yang NIS lagay na lang sila sa ps3 :p

        • sherimae1324

vita hater? lol whatever you say…

        • TheExile285

          is this even english?

          • Zackasaur

            Definitely not. lol

    • Elvick

Disgaea 4 is when they went with high-res sprites. Disgaea 3 still used PS2 sprites.

Not sure if the engine is exactly the same, but I’m sure if it was then it’d have at least been improved.

      It can’t be DLC.

  • shogunknight

Yes, now come to the west. My disgaea handheld saga continues

  • LordKaiser

    What’s the difference between versions?

    • Elvick

All DLC included… not sure if there’s anything exclusive or not. Usually is though.

  • LordKaiser

As long as it’s compatible with VitaTV is all that maters.
