    Still looks dope AF.

  • Kobracon

Cool! Something to watch when I get home ^_^

  • new_tradition

Haha, I was just watching some of this. I want to avoid spoilers, buuuuut….I’m weak. I already read the trophy list too >.<

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

I watched a little of the first part, then stopped, lol. I’d rather experience first-hand in a couple of months.

      • new_tradition

A stronger person then me *bows*

      • Budgiecat

        Sugoi! Sou desu ne…..

  • bloodiOS

    Pole dance! Yay! Sexy!
    *Facepalm* UUGGGHHHH…

    • GhostNomad

This game is turning more and more into fanservice >.>

It’s a shame too because some of the articles I read made it seem pretty cool, what with the huge areas and finite monsters, multiple endings and such.

Then again I’ve learned to somewhat control my hype because games look better on paper than when they’re actually released most of the time.

    • Kobracon

I am fairly sure there is far more to pole dancing than simply spinning on it. Hell if thats the case I can pole dance too. And you do NOT want to see that.

      • bloodiOS

Still doesn’t make that pole any more necessary. Face it, it was blatant fan-service.

        • Kobracon

And? One thing I never get about westerners is how your reaction to fanservice is the opposite of Japan. I mean, isn’t the whole reason its CALLED fanservice is that its a reward for the fans for playing their game.

Is it wrong to be rewarded? It neither adds or takes away anything and most Japanese players will in fact enjoy stuff like that. I know I do. Heck I’m still waiting for a swimsuit costume.

          • bloodiOS

Well, I don’t. I don’t think it suits Lightning, whatsoever. This isn’t a problem about finding fanservice distasteful (because for the most part I don’t mind it if it suits a certain character), this is about it constantly degrading Lightning’s image. It feels wrong, out of place and disgusting. And being a Westerner has nothing to do with this, heck, I wasn’t even born or actually live in the West until I was 14.

          • GhostNomad

To follow up on Bloodios’ comment, look at it this way. Sure, fanservice is awesome in general, but certain things just aren’t very appropriate. In this case, it doesn’t work for Lightning’s character at all. Imagine Lara Croft (reboot, a hardened survivor) running around in a slutty cheerleader outfit and striking sexy poses for no reason at all. Completely takes away from the seriousness of the game. Same could be said for Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite. Certain characters and fanservice just don’t go well together. Lightning’s one of them.

            • Kobracon

Well, (and this is to both of you) have you realized that Japan just kinda…works like that? Have you seen the countless perverted figurines of female characters despite their personality? An example I can think of is figures like Saber from Fate/Stay Night or countless other serious female characters in clothes they would never wear or poses they would never do, yet people over there lap it up.

And don’t just say its an otaku think coz we are all otaku’s in some form or other. Hell look at the Marvel Shoujo figurines!

All I’m trying to say is, its just how it is. This isn’t even that bad in comparison. Everyone’s acting like this is the first time a company has marketed a female character this way, its hardly the first.

  • Leon_Tekashi

Dang, it’s fast paced. I like it. =)

Not going to watch this. No spoilers for me.

    • Kobracon

Its actually safe, Zero. its the same demo we’ve all heard of and seen in the trailer.

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Thanks for the info. I’m still going to stay away from watching it.

  • almostautumn

Pardon me; guy who thinks this series is a waste of talent and pollution of a fantastic series passing through.

    • Charlie

      Or a troll.

  • Budgiecat

    love the faked forced excitement…

…And what’s with that creepy girls face they keep doing a close up of? Yuck!

    • Budgiecat

Downvotin’ cowardly chumps! Have at thee!

      *wields battle Axe*

      • GhostNomad

*ninja status, plants C4 on Bungie’s back*

No but seriously, I didn’t downvote. If anything, I slightly agree about the ‘excitement’, but not enough to give you my +1. Upvoting is srs bsns!

  • Kobracon

PFFTHAHA! I don’t know who this chick is, but when Overclock was activated, she immediately went “What is this? Is this Star Platinum The World?” and proceeded to go “ORAORAORAORAORA” while attacking XD

Needless to say, I like this woman!

Edit: Ah that 3rd vid, thats what I was waiting for, a closer look at the style customization. So you can in fact change costumes freely and fully customize a style down to what each button does. Cool! And geez thats a lot of color customization. Someone can really go to town on costumes if they want to.
