Welcome to Open Forum #58. Kinda late… really sorry about that.

(Some of you contacted me about it. Thanks.)

I’ve been spending all of my free time finishing up the Final Fantasy XIV contest. Sending out emails to just about everyone has been demanding. I basically finished that up last night. ^^

I’ve been playing catch up on the comments today. I’ve already read around 600 or so comments in the last few hours. I hope that helps explain some of the delays on my part.

I decided to make this week’s open forum the first ever (prize giveaway) open forum. I’m changing up my own rules a bit by having a gift box image (above) already. Allow me to explain ~

The blue gift box = The contest is starting. I will randomly pick the winners from the open forum with the blue gift box.

The red gift box = I will announce the winners in this open forum.

I will arrange the comments from old to new and give each comment a number. I will then put everything into a random number generator.

I haven’t completely decided on what the prize will be this time just yet. The prizes won’t typically be something epic like with the Final Fantasy XIV content.

The prize open forums should happen more often though. Also, this is exclusive to the open forum, so it’s kinda like a little private giveaway just for all of you. (I like to think this balances things out.)

Thanks for reading and being patient with me. Let the discussions begin!

    Enjoy ~

    • Locksus

Sometimes I wonder that how you can endure reading through hundreds of comments every single day. Props to you, Zero!

      • Willgaea

        His fortitude is maxed out.

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Thanks, Locksus. Reading all the comments is pretty tough someday’s. Falling behind is never a good idea either. lol

        • Locksus

True. By the way, wasn’t Faithless supposed to be the other mod? I haven’t seen him around the comment sections for a while now.

          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

He ran into some real life complications. He kinda went on a ‘break’ because of them.

        • Revorse

You read ALL of the comments? Damn, that’s gotta be rough.

          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I try my best to read them all. Every comment posted is also sent to my email. It’s easier for me to read them all this way.

            • Revorse

Do you have a smartphone? I bet that drives you crazy with that thing going off all the time.

              • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I don’t have one currently. Hoping to fix that pretty soon. When I get one, I’ll keep this in mind. xD

        • shogunknight
          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

            Thanks. xD

    • https://twitter.com/Panda_castro Panda

So the more comments we make, the better chance we have of winning right?

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

It should increase the chances of winning. I think it really depends on luck at the end of the day though.

Someone could post like 50 times in here, and the number generator might pick someone who posted once as the winner.

    • Kobracon

Just a thought but, do you think counting each person once and ignoring repeat posts by the same person would be more fair? Random is indeed random but a person spamming random posts again and again does have a definite probability advantage over others.

      • Azuardo

Yeah, been thinking this myself. Won’t exactly be fair if the people posting loads every week win the prizes more than others :/ Maybe just include each person that posts in the Open Forum once, rather than how many posts they make?

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Good point. I might do that, I’m not sure.

        • Tetsu

          I also agree.

I find that the constructiveness, variety and quality of topics, questions, rants and arguments would be heavily marred based solely on prize-winning possibilities being a large contributor to more less-complex, and though-out comments and discussions.

I understand that your trying to get more people talking more, which is fantastic, but it might lessen the ideals of open forum.

          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

It’s more for the purpose of rewarding our community for supporting Gematsu.

I wasn’t expecting anyone to abuse it by mass posting I suppose. That’s something I would frown upon. I want people to post in the open forum simply because they want to.

I think I will ignore repeating comments. Just for the record – I had yet to decide, nothing was really set in concrete. This is the first time we have done this, so it’s also a learning experience. =)

            Thanks for the feedback.

            • Tetsu

Oh also, I was wondering, do all the replies to posts count to?

              • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I think they should, just so long as the person who posts a reply has not already been counted.

  • Locksus

I decided to change my profile picture for the first time since, what, 2 or 3 years now? Felt like a change, honestly.

Anyhoo, what are you guys most excited for at the moment?

I’m eagerly anticipating WildStar at the moment, but I’ll definitely pick up either Pokemon X or Y. I haven’t made up my mind yet.

    • Willgaea

I’m not really liking Wildstars pay to play/ pay to win methods. I am pretty happy another pokemon game is coming.

      • Locksus

As far as I know, it has no pay to win. The devs have stated that that’s one thing they absolutely won’t do.
I guess I’m in the minority here, but I’m perfectly fine with p2p model. It ensures constant, high quality content updates and blocks out the possibility for pay to win.
The concept of CREDD (A play to pay system of sorts of Wildstar) sounds cool, but we’ll see how it plays out.

        • Willgaea

The month tokens can be sold to players for gold making the people that pay have tons of good from the gold farmers/ free players. At least that’s one flaw with the system. I’ll wait and see how they handle the game before I decide to jump in. I do love the battle mechanics and they style of the game.

          • Locksus

You’ve got a point there. We’ll see how the system plays out. I, too, love the look and feel of the game. Everything they’ve shown looks awesome to me. Though, I admit that I have a tendency to get overly excited to a fault.

  • Karysonson

Sooo……anyone going to get that new Wind Waker Wii U bundle?

    • miyamoto

sorry i thought i read Wind Wanker, XD i am dyslexic

      • Karysonson

        XD

  • Willgaea

I just found out that my girlfriend used to play PSO on dreamcast, so we have been playing that for the past couple of days on regular xbox. shes questing right now while I browse the internet. I wish they would make more PSO games. I find them quite addicting.

    • Locksus

Hah, my girlfriend is the definition of casual. The only game she likes to play is DKCR 3D, but she’s quite addicted to it, though :P

      • Willgaea

I was never good at Donkey Kong games. So to me, that sounds likes shes really good at them.

        • Locksus

Oh, she isn’t good at it either. Sometimes I fear for the safety of my system.

    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

      http://www.pso2.com/us/

      You’re welcome.

      • Willgaea

Is this the pc PSO2? Cause if it is it will crash my little laptop. :

        • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

          time to upgrade

      • Bryce Blalex Douglas

Man they’re taking forever to localize this game and they’re already working on a part two for Japan sheesh

  • Tac-Mex

I am kinda disappointed about Sony’s gamescom. I was expecting some new PS4 games but they only showed indies. Also even if they cut the price of PS Vita, memory cards are still pretty expensive.

Also, PS4 release date for México is November 29th :/, i was expecting to play it soon because i pre-ordered it.

I really hope to see some great stufg at TGS because Sony was pretty weak at Gamescom IMHO.

    • りんごタルト@エスカのアトリエ

What matters is you have games to play on the thing when you get it.
I have to wait for TGS for any announcements regarding PS4’s release in Japan and Asian territories.

    • Elvick

      Meh.

I don’t want a billion games at launch. With PS3 games, PS Vita games, PS4 and PS4 games, plus any 3DS games I really want… I don’t really feel there’s room for more games.

There’s already tons of huge third party titles. Sure, most of which are cross-generation, but since I’m buying a PS4, I’d pick that version.

I’d rather they space out releases, instead of rushing a bunch out at launch, then have nothing for later. Leading to us needing to wait over 6 months for a single first party game.

  • りんごタルト@エスカのアトリエ

Do you think its worth buying a Dreamcast as a collector’s item? I’ve always wanted to get one but games for it are scarce.

    • Willgaea

I missed my chance to get a cheap Dreamcast while at a good will store. I’ve been kicking myself ever since. The only place I know that still carries Dreamcast games are craigslist and ebay. You might have to spend some time looking for the deals.

    • https://twitter.com/Panda_castro Panda

Yes. Make sure to get Shenmue.

    • Azuardo

Like Panda said, yes, for Shenmue 1 and 2!

    • Eclipse

I’d say it’s worth it. That system has a ton of great games.

If you’re having trouble finding Dreamcast games, then I’d suggest checking out a site called NCSX – they have quite a few rare games in stock that are being sold for very reasonable prices. However, the majority of the games they have are in Japanese.

  • Bryce Blalex Douglas

    Just finished Dark Souls finally!!!!!
Give me suggestions what game should I finish next? Choices are:
Skyrim about 70-80 hours put in so far
    Dragon’s Dogma about 30 hours
Tales of Graces f about 40 hours
Star Ocean 4 about 50 hours after the restart
Final Fantasy XIII about too many hours to still not have beat it lol

Edit: I’ve started all of the games listed just never finished them because something new is always popping up lol

    • Tac-Mex

Final Fantasy XIII is pretty bad, just watch some youtube walkthroughs.

    • Denny A Jones

Skyrim is an awesome game. that would be my choice.

    • Willgaea

Well depends on the amount of free time you have. I spent about this much time in each game:

      Skyrim 131 hours
      Dragons dogma 170
Tales of graces f I stopped around 180 hours
Never played Star ocean, but I want to.
FF13 took me about 40 hours to get out of the turtorial. I spent about 97 hours in that game.

      • Bryce Blalex Douglas

Play Star Ocean you should be able to get it for cheap on ebay or Amazon. It’s a fun game and the combat system is pretty good too.

        • Willgaea

          Is Phantasy star ocean, Universe?

          • Bryce Blalex Douglas

That’s the MMO style game for Xbox if I’m not mistaken. I meant Star Ocean 4 for PS3 it’s the updated version.

            • Willgaea

Oh, you had me confused so much that I had to go kill Vol Opt.

            • Willgaea

Wow I completely read your last comment wrong. I’m so obsessed with PSO that I’m hearing the noise from the game while doing other activities. I’m even seeing the word’s when they are not there.

      • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

        No you don’t

    • Locksus

I personally hated Graces F, but you might like it. Definitely give it a go.

But I loved Skyrim, even though many did not. I spent about 400 hundred hours on that game. Protip: Play the game without fast travelling. It might sound like work, but you’ll see lots of different stuff you wouldn’t otherwise.

    • shogunknight

Dammit, im at the last boss. Freaking fast and agile dude, play star ocean-final fantasy-tales of graces-dragons dogma-skyrim (till you get tired)

    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

Don’t bother with Star Ocean. Only finish FFXIII if you plan on playing the sequels. Dragon’s Dogma is pretty ace as is ToG. Skyrim is passe.

      • Azuardo

Agreed. Star Ocean 4 was terrible to me. I can admit I enjoyed the FF13 games for what they were, but there are better RPGs worth your time. But if you’ve invested heavily into FF13 already, it’s probably worth seeing out.

        • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

So disappointing after the excellence that was SO3. I’ve never in my life seen a series fall off a quality cliff so hard. Speaking of, I would love to have a remake of SO1 and 2 in 3D. Especially 1. Best game in the franchise.

          • Azuardo

It’s a shame for me because SO4 is the only game in the series I’ve played. I know that this game isn’t representative of the series as a whole, though. Just a shame I ended up jumping in with this one.

            • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

GO FIND STAR OCEAN 3. That is hands down one of my favorite JRPG’s of all time. Plus it makes the sheer existence of SO4 seem pointless. No spoilers, but with the ending of 3, it felt like they were trying to wrap up the whole series. I actually suspect that the devs intentionally sabotaged SO4 just to permakill the series, because its existence narratively makes no sense.

              • Azuardo

One day I’d like to play it :) So little time and priorities etc -_-

              • gerald

                Strange, I like SO4 better than SO3.

I’ve played the whole series and I think 2 is the best all around. 3 and 4 had better gameplay, but both were a step back in terms of story and characters, so I prefer 4 just for the best gameplay. 2>4>3>1 IMO.

                • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

I don’t think we can be friends. Did you really just rank Star Ocean as the worst game in its series? Wow. I mean, divergent tastes and all, but I can’t imagine anyone else agreeing with your order.

                  • gerald

It wasn’t a bad game by any stretch, but everything it did was done better by 2.

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

Well, I’ll admit to having a skewed perception of two. My memory card save somehow got messed up and I wasn’t able to progress past the Vesper & Decus battle. They both had infinite HP and I just refused to restart a game after over 60 hours. So there’s that. But I really do think 4 was the worst in the franchise.

                    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

You aren’t alone. I also didn’t like Star Ocean 4 much at all. I think my personal favorite is 3.

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

                      We’re friends now. But

Doesn’t the end of three sort of preclude any other game in the franchise?

                    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I’d like to think we always we’re friends. =)

(The comments I make as a Mod and stuff is just part of the job. I enjoy making comments as simply Zero much more.)

Did you ever watch Star Ocean EX? I’m pretty sure it was based off SO2? My memory is perhaps a bit hazy.

                    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

It did involve SO2, yes, but I didn’t bother with it since the series was cancelled, unfortunately.

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

I rarely watch anime based on games and almost never based on RPG’s. I mean, I love SMT games and I think DeSu 2 and Persona 4 are amazing, but the adaptations. That being said, anything visual novel style (Dangan Ropa, Air, Kanon, ect) is usually improved by the transition.

I think it has to do with the fact that while story is a big draw for JRPG’s, the most memorable parts tend to be the actual gameplay.

                    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I understand that. I usually watch them after playing the game. The Tales of the Abyss anime actually had me in the mood to play the game again.

I never typically expect the anime to be better than the game. Well, I suppose Gungrave might be one of those rare series. I’m told the anime is far superior to any of the games. I really did like that series.

I just noticed the edit you made above. It’s been a few years since I played SO3. I think I agree, I like to think it was supposed to end the series. It kinda makes sense because SO4 was supposed to be a prequel or something?

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

But with that ending, what’s the point? I mean that was a “nothing that happens in this universe matters ever again” ending. I loved it because it was so ballsy.

                    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I might have to re-watch some of that again. If I recall, each character had a special ending as well.

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

Yup yup. SO3 was aces. 11 Endings total IIRC.

                  • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

This coming from the same person who claimed any game that started with “Legend” but didn’t end with “Zelda” is considered a failure… I think people should probably take your opinions on games with a grain of salt, lol.

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

No, I didn’t say that at all. Don’t attack me when you don’t know what the fuck I said. Let me quote it for you:

IMHO, any game that has the words Legend of and is not immediately followed by a Zelda sounds lame and generic

That has nothing to do with the quality of the game. That has only to do with the title of the game. Please don’t talk to me.

                • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Yeah, the Second Story was honestly my favorite out of them. I don’t know what it is, but that one seemed to keep me hooked a lot better than the others. I really enjoyed it~

              • Revorse

Why do people always say that? Even with the events of 3, I don’t think it make 4’s universe any less important because of Till the End of TIme’s revelations.

                • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

Why does anything that happens in 4 matter at all after 3? To put it in perspective (fuck it, I’m spoiling the twist) Why would you care at all about the random adventures of Thomas A. Anderson’s daily life before the events of The Matrix? You know it’s all a construct so what does it matter? SO4 seemed wholly irrelevant after the third game. And I honestly felt that it was a good coda for the series as a whole.

                  • Revorse

But didn’t they(the cast of SO3) say something along the lines of the fact that they even exist and feel/think is enough for them and that they’re not just someone’s game? What goes on in the universe is still important, regardless of it’s origin.

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

Yes, but that’s for the characters and in their perspective. In game, yes it all matters. In reality, that felt like “We’re done making Star Ocean games, so let’s finish this off”

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

            >I’ve never in my life seen a series fall off a quality cliff so hard.

Must have skipped out on Shadow Hearts then. 1 was amazing, 2 was good, but could have been better, then 3 made me go, “Wtf? I don’t even. No… Fuck this game.” As far as I’m concerned, Shadow Hearts ended at 2 and for those familiar with the ending, it would be a fine stopping point anyway.

            • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

Oh right. But that was different devs IIRC. And they were aiming at at a younger age group. It was the DMC4 effect (I know it came out before DMC4) of losing your fanbase by trying to broaden appeal.

              • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

I knew as soon as I had an Indian in my party, with an ability known as ‘Gun Fu’, it was the beginning of something terrible.

          • Elvick

I checked out of SO3 after the ‘twist’.

I can’t even remember if I beat it. xP

      • gerald

I enjoyed SO4 a lot more than FF13. Both stories and characters were pretty weak (I liked Lightning though) but SO4 gameplay was really fun. I even got around 90+% battle trophies… I swear I’ll get back to it one day.

        • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

          Was it your first SO?

          • gerald

Nope, played them all (along with virtually every other localised JRPG since the 80s). I’m old.

            • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

So you played the PSP remake of SO then? Or did you play the SNES rom? I think the main charm of the original Star Ocean was that it was SO. DAMN. GORGEOUS. for an SNES game. The PSP version sort of taints that with its pseudo 2D on 3D world maps and gameplay.

As for FFXIII, I get that people don’t like convoluted narratives (same reason people didn’t play Xenosaga) but there actually was a lot of depth to the story, what with Etro and the like. Hidden and opaque but it was there. But my tastes aren’t your tastes.

              • Azuardo

And this was the letdown of FF13, for me. The lore and history could have been SO much more than was given to us. Instead, it was shoved into a datalog and we could only read a few paragraphs worth of the history of this fascinating world. It was such a shame, because they could have allowed us to see and learn about so much more. I’m hoping that with the final part of the trilogy a bit more of their intentions will come out even further.

Well I’m a voracious reader and I’d already done the same for Xeno 3, so it was NBD for me.

                  • Azuardo

It’s interesting because it was only on my 2nd playthrough that I then thoroughly read every datalog, and it was only after then (and also after reading the prologue story, too) that I gained a much better appreciation for the story and its world. I just felt like it shouldn’t have been consigned to books and menus.

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

Yeah, but considering that it was in development for what, six years?, can you imagine how big the game would be to encompass all that? Plus after Dragon Quest VIII, I’m done with hundred hour JRPGs

                    • Azuardo

That might have been so. Just found it a bit of a shame. I’m the same with lengthy games now, too. I’ll always buy FF games no matter what, but hundred hour RPGs have really dropped off my radar these days :/

                    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

It think they honestly couldn’t figure out how to integrate it with the narrative. And honestly, it would have clashed with the “we need to gtfo now!” of XIII’s plot. Interesting or not, it was mostly inconsequential. But yeah, LR looks like it deffo will tie to the mythos.

                • Elvick

The datalog also repeated a lot of the same things. That drove me crazy. D:<

                  • Azuardo

I think I noticed that, too. And I swear there was a point in the story where something was not explained UNLESS you looked in the datalog. I seem to remember reading it and thinking “When the hell was this mentioned in-game?” Perhaps that could be put down to the translation, but again, it just felt wrong to consign so much to the datalog. I like RPGs that have a log to give a recap and rundown of events, but things needed to be explained better and fleshed out more in-game for me.

    • Elvick

      Graces ƒ!

  • Tac-Mex

What do you think about GTA V audio leaks? The OST looks pretty awesome but i were expecting some artists/songs.

Also it seems that the ending has been leaked too so you should be careful when surfing the internet :p

    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

I don’t think people play GTA for the story. Don’t get me wrong, I think Rockstar has some of the better storytelling in gaming, but I think when people name the things that they are looking forward to in the new game, story isn’t on the list. I mean, if you know how five ends, is that going to stop you from playing it?

  • LordKaiser

How the hell Kojima is 50 years old? The man looks on his 30’s. Anyway happy Birthday to Hideo Kojima and thanks for making games full of creativity.

Asian ageing. They look immortal… until they don’t, then suddenly they can look like melting wax sculptures.

    • Locksus

Just look at Sakurai. The Japanese have found the secret fountain of youth and they refuse to tell us

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Yeah, it’s an Asian thing. Part of their diet, I guess, haha. One of my friend’s aunts was flirting with me one day, asking me if I had a girlfriend and such. When I told her I didn’t have one, she laughed, then asked how old I thought she was. Honestly?

I thought she was my friend’s older sister or something, lol. I guessed mid 20’s or early 30’s and she blushed, then started laughing again, telling me she liked me. If I remember correctly, she was like, “You’re one of his nicer friends! I like you!” Turns out… She was actually in her 40’s, lol.

Still, it seems like every older Asian I’ve ever met certainly didn’t look old at all.

      • LordKaiser

Was she that hot for being 40? Then yep they have the fountain of youth. Maybe is something in the Nori, antioxidants?

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Well, I try not to be superficial and such since I care more about if a person’s personality is “hot” per se, lol. She didn’t look bad though, by any means. Unfortunately, however, it was my friend’s uncle that I ended up spending most of the day with.

More like he spent most of his day with me, haha. It was actually my first time being around so many Koreans at once. I was a little caught off-guard by how touchy-feely they can be ><. He was a pretty cool guy, but I couldn't help but laugh when he was like, "Sooooo… You don't have girlfriend?" and grabbed my hand, lol.

It's just not really in Americans to joke around like that, especially in public, so it kind of took me a second to realize he was just joking and not actually coming onto me and whatnot :P

      • Kobracon

I can attest to this. One of the perks of being Asian XD

        • Budgiecat

people say this about many races not just Asian. Black, Hispanic.

The true matter now one really addressing than and what people don’t want to say is Caucasians age quickly.
Thats why there’s the push for botox, fat injections, tanning booths (which eventually have the opposite effect) and other plastic surgery.

Though I don’t get the weird push in Asia for Asians to get that eye and cheekbone surgery to appear more Caucasian. And why some people in South America want to bleach their skin. That’s kinda sad..

          • Kobracon

Hm….not many wanna look more Caucasian here. Which Asian country in particular did u hear about that? Korea?

    • PrinceHeir

      Happy Birthday Kojima san!

Well, this is interesting. The October issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine will publish a one-shot manga for Sony Computer Entertainment and Guerrilla Cambridge’s Killzone video game franchise on August 26. The Killzone manga featuring new characters and an original story will mark the first time the franchise is getting a manga adaptation. Illustrator and manga artist Kamome Mukojima (Grave Digger) will draw the manga.

    More in: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-08-22/killzone-games-inspire-manga-1-shot-in-shonen-ace-magazine

Hope its good, like the mangakas work

I have been wondering for a while, why is there no bundle incentive with buying games that have cross save/play capability for vita and ps3/4 games.
I mean wouldn’t this move more units and promote the purchasing of vitas.

Narcissu on PC. Go play it and then break down and cry. ITT: the most depressing game you’ve played.

  • Kkdog4Sado

So after the whole localization debacle, how’s everyone enjoying Tales of Xillia?

    • AnimusVox

I haven’t gotten too far in but I, personally, like it globs more than Graces. And I just find it be a very enjoyable game in general.

    • GhostNomad

It’s the first Tales of game I’ve actually put time into. I still have my PS2 version of Abyss somewhere which I really wanted to try but never actually got around to doing so. Same with Vesperia. Also my 360 lasted a whole 48 days after I bought it so that didn’t help a whole lot.

All that said, really enjoying Xillia so far. The combat system’s pretty fun, the story’s got me interested, and it’s not half bad when it comes to visuals. Definitely can’t complain so far (about 10 hours in with maybe an hour and a half spent leveling up a little).

    • LordKaiser

It’s very nice but so far no item creation. Only Shop expansion but this is exploitable since in the 3rd town of the game there’s a area close by with very high level monsters and the items scattered on that area are very high so you can stock Rare Beads and Monster Fluids to upgrade the shops very fast. It’s a thing of just evading monsters and collect.

      • KingNigma

        I miss cooking :(

    • DichaTesoro

Localization debacle? Umm…did I miss something?
Anyway, I’m at the final dungeon/boss part. I really like the game. The best in the series for me. Great characters, story, and everything. Just downloaded some of the costumes too, had to take my PS3 to work since I’ve never been able to connect to the PSN at home. I was so happy…I’ve no life.

      • Kkdog4Sado

I said that because it was a good push/hassle for Namco to release it here. IRCC it originally was not going to be released here until fans pushed for it. My memory could be foggy though. But im glad you are enjoying it!!

        • Budgiecat

I heard its super linear like FF XIII and you can’t see your team members walking behind you when exploring on the field like FF XIII, Zill O’ll and Dragon Age

Just finished Tales Of Xillia and I gotta say, The game was pretty damn good! Can’t wait for it’s sequel!

Dat Lego City 3DS game is pretty rate gud, ennit?

  • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Well, this pretty much sums up my weekend right here.

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Seeing as this is from Winkysoft, it’s more of a throwback SRW title. It’s brutal, lol. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. According to some reports I’ve heard so far, there are even already people returning their copy of the game because of how difficult it is!

It certainly doesn’t help that it is part of the Masou Kishin series, which already has a small following. It sold pretty badly though as well (something like 45k or so between the PS3 and Vita). I think it was a bad idea for them to release it around the same time as OE Extend for PSP.

Not only that, but they have been releasing a lot of SRW stuff lately, so maybe people are tired of it at this point, wanting a break, hence the low sales. Still, I’m only a few missions in, but I like it so far…. It can be rather difficult at times though. They have grunts after about 10 stages or so that can one hit kill any unit outside of Masou, doing 8k+ damage.

      A grunt! It’s pretty insane, haha. I’m wondering if I’ll manage to even get through it since the newer SRW titles have spoiled me with its EASY MODO difficulty by comparison ;w;

      • Budgiecat

        Needs better animation techniques.

From now on I propose all SRW games to be non SD and use Guilty Gear Xrd animation technique. No more motion portrait.

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Eh, I’m fine with the “animation techniques”, honestly. Granted, Masou Kishin has ALWAYS looked more stiff that the others, but still… It’s not like, “OMGWTFISDISSHIT?!” when you’re watching. Guilty Gear Xrd certainly isn’t the be all of animation though.

While it does look nice, I’d prefer for SRW to stay the way it is, honestly. Although, I will agree with you on the SD comment. I’ve NEVER cared for the SD games (hence why I passed on OE Extend, despite them adding Patlabor).

Still, it looks good to me, despite MK having a rather hateful fanbase, lol. Just posting a DLC stage to show it in action to avoid campaign spoilers and such.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qlVwHEBzwE

          • Budgiecat

Guilty Gear Xrd is the be all end all of Anime style game animation. It’s the new standard. All others shall bow to its greatness. Never before was I tricked visually into thinking a game was 2D when it was actually 3D. And then the close up character shots were so good it made it look like an actual anime. You WILL respect it’s awesomeness…sess…..

And there’s barely any animation techniques in this game. SRW games need a rehaul.

In terms of motion portrait, it’s a little weird that I’ve seen low budget hentai motion portrait games with better animation than SRW. Banpresto step your game up.
Seems like they hit a development wall once they got to PS2

Like for instance, why does this game use tiny static avatars for the story sections when it’s a PS3 game and games like SRW @ Gaiden use big avatars with moving mouths and that is from 2 generations ago? I mean….c’mon. Maybe the reason people aren’t interested is because the wow factor is gone..they’re barely trying anymore..

            • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Ummm… Did you ever stop to consider that maybe it’s simply an artistic choice? For example, why do you think Disgaea still uses sprites for their games, even though we’re in the year 2013? They just simply made the sprites HD, but they’re still using sprites, lol. Melty Blood also uses sprites, but you can still tell for the most part since they still look pixelated like Arcana Heart’s sprites. Under Night In-Birth changes all of that, but that’s a different story for a different day.

In any case, I don’t really see the important of mouths moving on a portrait/avatar. I mean, it’s alright if it does it, but I wouldn’t be upset if it didn’t. This isn’t the reason why people aren’t interested though. There are a multitude of reasons, as I stated before.

              A. This one was released too close to OE Extend, so most are going for that one instead (despite having to BUY chapter weekly/monthly to advance in the story).

              B. Masou Kishin is usually met with an indifferent crowd or people who just downright hate it.

              C. There have been a lot of SRW games in the past year alone. I think people may be getting bored of the series as a whole at the moment because there have been so many recently. It would be like releasing a 4-5 Disgaea games in the course of 1-2 years. That’s a bit much… Especially how time consuming the S-RPG genre is.

But yeah, as I stated before… I think Guilty Gear Xrd graphics are nice. I won’t deny that, but I’m not simply restricted to graphics of the future or whatever, which is why I’m more open-minded and not so easily fooled by these smoke and mirrors that they used to trick you. It’s just another technique like Capcom used for SFIV to make it 2.5D.

People were excited to see it at first because it didn’t look like any other fighting game at the time, but time has passed and they don’t really think much of it these days. I still remember the days of when people were like, “Wow! BlazBlue uses sprites that are hand drawn and each character has over 2,000!”, but once again… Now nobody cares, lol. They’ve moved on to Guilty Gear Xrd.

Give it a couple of years and something else will come out there and amaze people with its new graphics engine. This is why graphics should NEVER be the focal point of anything because they are always changing, but some companies like to keep them the same as well. Personally, I like Under Night In-Birth’s graphics more than something like Guilty Gear Xrd, but that’s just me.

Then again… This is also someone who dumped over 100 hours, separately, into both Wizardry games for PS3 AND bought the Perfect Pack which had a disc exclusive dungeon (so I essentially paid about $60 for a dungeon, lol). That’s neither here nor there though, I’m just pointing out I’m fine with a lot of different graphic styles like shown below. You may find it to be archaic or whatever, but I happen to like it, personally.

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2otfOj_7xnU

              • Budgiecat

See Disgaea I can understand but you didn’t hear me: SRW inconsistent with their quality. Why is this game, a PS3 game no less. have worse pilot avatar animation than a PS1 SRW game? Why does it have worse robot animation than SRW OE, an episodic PSP game based off a Wii game?

A game like SRW OG for PS2 back in the day seemed to push the limitations of the hrdware with its 2D work; much more than any of the PS1 SRW games did.
Now the PS3 is how much more powerful than the PS2? Instead they’ve become complacent and rested on their laurels which is a big problem with many Japanese developers as Keji Inafune has stated.
Too much play it safe salarymen unwilling to push themselves artistically and creatively. Not good.

Look at JoJo game coming out. Look at how much hard work and determination is put into that game. Each frame. Each pixel. Right down to copying the exact artwork panel by panel from the creators manga and incorporating it into the game. Unbelievable.
Why can’t we see more of this level of ingenuity and hard work across the spectrum? WHY GODMARS WHY

SRW 2D avatars should animate like Hotel Dusk characters! That’d be dope as hell. Or if not, like I said, use Guilty Gear Xrd technique since that looks just like 2D anyway and 3D is easier to animate fluidly than 2D animation (see the choppiness of Time & Eternity)

Lastly, why aren’t you subbing your walkthrough

                • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Eh… I still don’t see the problem. Who cares if it’s on PS3? Every single game put on PS3 doesn’t have to tap into every last ounce of power to be good. Hell, MOST of the games on PS3 don’t even push the PS3 to its limits as it is, despite looking incredible.

While there are other games which have a more vibrant artstyle and whatnot (such as Jojo), one isn’t necessarily better than the other. Personally, I’ll enjoy Jojo just as I do Masou Kishin III, but for different reasons. Graphics aren’t everything, as I stated before.

As for the whole subbing thing… I didn’t finish Masou Kishin I and II, so I’m not the best person to come to in regards to the story. Secondly, most seem to think Masou Kishin III is a joke and shouldn’t have even been made because of how the story ended at II, so I’m just skipping the dialogue at this point since most people are watching for the gameplay instead anyway. I’m sure they will be able to find a rough summary of the story online later anyway. Lastly, between uploading this, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn soon (which I already have over 10 hours worth of recording from phase 3 and 4), and Jojo… I honestly wouldn’t even have the time to sub something like this on top of all that.

Back on my old channel from a few years ago, I wasn’t subbing Valkyria Chronicles 3, but I did put summaries in my description for what was happening in the story and whatnot. Most of the time though, I play a game for the gameplay, not the story, so I couldn’t really care less about the story 99% of the time. I’ve just seen so many from J-RPGs and such, it’s difficult to even bring myself to caring about a story at this point.

                  • Budgiecat

Except I’m not comparing it to other PS3 games, I’m comparing it to the same series from last gen and the gen before that! I’d be saying the same thing about Another Century’s Episode R because compared to the last 2 games before it, it was also a letdown.

                    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

It was only a letdown because the controls were god awful. Apples and oranges here, man.

        • Ronaconda

Konami worked on UMVC3 with Capcom?

      stop joking around

It’s a rumor didn’t you hear supposedly Sony is paying Konami for it to be exclusive like how Nintendo is paying for Bayonetta 2 and Microsoft for Dead Rising 3 also the studio that makes the games is said to be working on something.

So guys what do you think about Chaos code,WaterPazza, and all of the random localization?

    • Solomon_Kano

So happy. I remember FK saying they had plans to bring CC over last year, but then things got quiet. Having it return and then Aquapazza get announced right after was just awesome.

      • TheBlackRabbit

fate extra ccc? , or another game?

        • Solomon_Kano

          Chaos Code.

          • TheBlackRabbit

NIce yea, chaos code is nice, watched it played on next level battle circuit.

    • Eclipse

I thought those random localizations were pretty sweet~!

Chaos Code was sort of expected, but Aquapazza was a real surprise. I mean, it was just out of nowhere.

With the way things are going, maybe we’ll eventually see Phantom Breaker: Extra and Shin Kohime Musou randomly localized sometime next year ;)

      • TheBlackRabbit

^.^, i love those games, and your awesome taste.

    • Budgiecat

Happy for Saint Seiya; just wish they’d do disc version in the U.S.

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

          I’m really not sure… I’m afraid to mess with it cause mine will turn out like yours ;w;

          @zerorpg:disqus Help D:

        • Solomon_Kano

When you click your pic and click “edit profile” it should bring up a box on your Disqus dashboard that has options in this order:

          – Profile

          – Avatar

          – Services

          – Notifications

          – Account

          – Applications

If that box doesn’t pop up, then go to your Disqus dashboard and look to the top right corner. You’ll see your current avatar and a drop-down menu, from which you can select “edit profile” again, and it should pop up.

        • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

What @Solomon_Kano:disqus posted below really covers everything.

If you don’t have a Disqus account. Well, things get a little bit more complicated.

I’ll gladly help out as soon as I can.

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Did you try clicking edit profile and uploading the avatar again?

    • RedWolfe

If your profile was around before the switch to Disqus, you probably have to log in and update it at the Gravatar site found here: https://en.gravatar.com/

For the future, I would just go ahead and merge your gematsu and disqus profiles and manage everything from disqus from here on out. The process is a little wonky but that’s what I did after having the same issue recently.

      • Kobracon

Gravatar! Thats it! I remember now. I had to go there to change the pic. Been here since ScrawlFX, so i didn’t know the change to disqus affected Gravatar as well

  • RedWolfe

I think it’s awesome how the Open Forum is managing to break the 100+ comment mark rather quickly nowadays. And seeing how the last few have even broken the 500+ mark just shows how far along this site has come.

I haven’t quite been here since the beginning but I was here to see the transition from Scrawl to Gematsu and this is pretty much my preferred site when it comes to getting gaming news quickly and without all the sensational BS that is characteristic of others sites.

So to Sal, Zero, Adam and everyone else on staff, keep up the good work. Cheers.

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Well, to be fair, I think some of the comments go for a long period because the open forum draws out the argumentative people since they are able to discuss anything here, as opposed to specific articles. Still, I guess attention is attention, right?

      • RedWolfe

True, and like you said, people are more likely to talk in the Open Forum because it’s the place where anyone can talk about anything.

But still, looking back, it took some of them days to reach the level of discussion that we’re now getting in a few hours just because, in my opinion, more people are getting involved, in general.

I dunno, I just felt like recognizing that because I think the site deserves it.

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

No, you’re right. Give credit where it’s due and all that. I’ve been seeing some fresh blood around here too (yeah, I have a habit of checking the profiles of people’s names I’m unfamiliar with, heh), so that helps too.

    • TheBlackRabbit

i came here after one of my favorite sites in the world got shut down, this has become a very nice community, ;)

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

You’re talking about Andriasang, aren’t you? I thought we said we wouldn’t talk about that again?!

        #thefeels

        • TheBlackRabbit

i’m sorry but yes i am, i miss it so much man!, Q.Q it was an amazing site, that wasn’t currupted by the neogaf, or 4chan type people…..my haven! Q.Q….i will go cry now.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

            I think a lot of us are relics from that site actually, haha. It’s just most of us don’t like to bring it up because, yeah… Dem feels ;w;

            Shoutout to Anoop.

            • TheBlackRabbit

Anoop, woot woot. Yea that is probably…why this site has a great community, XD

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Thanks! I like to think Gematsu is slowly improving. I’m sure you remember when we didn’t have the open forum. Just look at how far we have come since then! =)

  • Elvick

Tried out DuckTales Remastered today, pretty sweet. Though I still think I’d enjoy the visuals more if it were full 2D. Still looks quite nice though. The pogo sound effect can get a little annoying after awhile. But I like that they put in some story. I never played the original, so can’t really compare.

Preordered Castle of Illusion on PSN and played some of the classic version you get for preordering and it’s really good. Makes me that much more disappointed that the 3DS game ruined itself with the horrible drawing mechanics.

Xillia’s been sitting in my PS3 for awhile, but I haven’t started it. D:

I switched from Dragon’s Crown on my Vita to playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss again, which I finished. And I’m doing Gravity Rush again. After that I’ll move back to Dragon’s Crown. Gravity Rush is still one of my favorite games, and easily my favorite PS Vita game. Not that far in my playthrough though. Chapter 4 or so, I believe.

I hate 24 hour trophies… I have all the trophies in BreakQuest: Extra Evolution, but the one where you have to play 24 hours of the game. I’m done with the game… wry u do this. So close to 100%.

    • DesmaX

At least it isn’t that 10 days trophy for Tekken: Revolution

Just leave your console turned on and do something else

      • Elvick

        It’s the Vita. So…

And, other games, ala: LBP need you to fake the game into thinking your still doing things. Or it doesn’t count.

I got that 10 days trophy no problem in Tekken. Logging in isn’t hard or tedious. Especially if you like the game.

        • DesmaX

Well, can’t you just leave it with the charger?

And, who knows, maybe check a guide for the game, see if it says that you need to do stuff

    • PrinceHeir

wait you can now get the original Castle of the Illusion game now??

i know you can still preorder till september 2.

why the hell does this have to be a exclusive one :(

  • RedWolfe

Also, has anyone else seen the last few OVAs of Oreimo?

I…I just…I don’t even know how I feel about that lol.

    • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

      *SPOILERS*

I think it was the best ending. Brosuke did all he could to protect all the girls feelings (except Manami, but fuck dat bitch) and they never flinched from the premise. I mean the title was literally “My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute” How did you expect it to end?

      • RedWolfe

Yeah. At the close when they restated the title, I was like “Well, I guess this makes sense…”

        *MOAR SPOILARS*

Still, I never thought it would go that far. When I began watching, I was more under the impression that it would be more about them getting forced into awkward scenarios like accidentally getting caught on top of each other (after fighting over the package) and going on dates for ulterior motives and such. About them getting over the sister/brother complex, in general.

But to be fair, I did enjoy it. Luckily, they didn’t go as far as they could have (thank god for that) and that Manami vs Kirino scene was friggin’ epic.

        • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

I’m just impressed by the author for actually going with the worst possible ending. From a story perspective; I loved the ending emotionally, but Kyosuke has basically burned all his bridges.

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

EDIT: Let’s just scratch this first part. Either way, it seems the ending is rather trolltastic for the light novel AND anime, lol. Terrible.

This is probably how a lot of people reacted towards the end of the anime though.

        • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

um. it was the exact ending of the light novel.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Was it? My friend told me it was different, lol. I just took his word for it since I was pretty much done with Oreimo after reading about the light novel ending. PROFOUND SADNESS.

Well, that’s pretty terrible then if they’re the same. Wow. I guess I can prepare to see snapped Blu-ray discs soon.

            • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

              it’s on crunchyroll right now.

              • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

I knooooooooooow. That’s how my friend watched it. You can’t really destroy a stream though, can you? :P

There will be damage done once it comes out with a physical release, like the light novel burners and such.

        • RedWolfe

          Haha. pretty much this.

    • bloodiOS

I’m pretty sure the seemingly incestuous route could’ve been totally avoided if someone had just minded her own goddamn fucking business. Although, I suppose Kirino wouldn’t be able to meet all of her awesome friends that way, but at least I wouldn’t have to watch Kyousuke’s breaking others’ hearts.

Seriously, if I want wincest, I would’ve watched Yosuga no Sora instead.

      • http://popculturesocialclub.com/ DreamDrop♥

Yes. I only wanted a Kirino ending because of how much it would hurt Manami. Everyone else he acknowledges their feelings and rejects, but he doesn’t even accept that Mnami has feelings for him at all.

    • Budgiecat

Stupid show don’t waste your time. Oh look, yet another overdone Japanese psuedo incestual brother sister crap.

Better to watch a classic like Tiger Mask or Legend of Galactic Heroes. Gatchaman (not that new crap Gatchaman Crowds) or Godmars…

    • Ronaconda

That anime yanked my emotions around like a violent tug of war. I was pretty let down by the copout ending.

Although, I hear the author is doing a bonus novel taking place ten years later? Might be alright, I guess.

  • Budgiecat

I’m so bored that I’m playing this game

    http://www.destructoid.com/elephant//ul/12901-550x-mainpic.jpg

    • Tetsu

Talk about early HD RPGs lol. I remember my roommate playing this when I lived with him, gosh, 6 years ago?

      • Budgiecat

And yet 6 years ago was one year after they announced FF Versus XIII for PS3 and now look..It’s still not out, and won’ be for PS3 (which is what I initially bought the PS3 for lol).

        • Tetsu

          lol too true

    • AnimusVox

A little over a year after this game was released I started working at an indie game store, we would have to tell people that there’s an openly gay character in it, because the guys told me that a lot of people got upset because of it so we had to tell people from then on.

    • Elvick

Despite the horrible voice acting of the gay character… and from what I’ve seen poor characterization of him, I want to play that.

      The gameplay looks interesting.

      • Budgiecat

He really only shows up for the prologue and the majority of the game he’s not around but….

        I’ll leave it at that…

    • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

I have this. I played it for like, an hour.

I kind of want to play it again. Despite it’s horribleness. I remember buying it at the time because I saw a screenshot of the first town and thought it looked great. Looking back…

      http://gematsu.com/gallery/albums/enchanted-arms/september-20-2006/Enchanted-Arms_2006_09-20-06_001.jpg

      xD

      • Budgiecat

Since its kinda modeled after FF X, it’s got some of the same issues (the super linearity, the awkward characters), but the Golem collecting can get addicting and the dialogue is kinda funny at times.
And yeah I actually enjoy it more than FF XIII

    • new_tradition

Awww man, I bought this game too. Used for about 20-ish dollars, but I still couldn’t get far into. All I can say is thank goodness for that Japanese VA option in the PS3 version. I could pretend it was another shounen anime or something xD

  • Willgaea

So I’ve been playing a lot of Pso episode 1 and 2 for Xbox, and I have been having a lot of memories of past games I’ve played. For some reason Grandia keeps popping up.

  • bloodiOS

Hey guys, I’d like it very much if any of you can tell me the name of this BGM.

    • Tetsu

Sounds cool, but unfortunately I donno. It does sound kinda familiar though hmmm

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Yeah, it does sound familiar. I’m also pretty much clueless.

@Bloodios:disqus Can you give us anymore to go on? Any other details?

        • bloodiOS

I haven’t a clue either. I have been looking for this particular BGM for years, so this is basically my last resort. That said, I’m certain that it was released prior to the year 2000 (not much help, I know =( )

          • Tetsu

Where did you first hear it?

            • bloodiOS

From the 2000 version of the Hong Kong television series The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, produced by TVB. TVB loves to reuse soundtracks for many of their series, which are mostly “borrowed” from many places (ex: several tracks are composed by the Japanese new age instrumental groups, S.E.N.S. or Himekami) The problem is, I have no idea where this particular soundtrack was borrowed from…

              • Tetsu

Well I researched for the last half-hour and havn’t gotten anywhere in particular. But I do believe the key is in searching in mandarin, if you can manage that. I’m going to look some more tomorrow.

                • bloodiOS

I’m incapable of learning any language that uses Chinese characters. So, yeah…

              • http://olet2k.blogspot.com ole

Are you really sure have heard in the 倚天屠龙记 2000 version? The BGM doesn’t like Hong Kong style music. I searched around and found the OST of the TV series. Though that one particular BGM doesn’t exist in the OST. I’d like to ask in which part during what scene this BGM plays? 原声大碟 – [倚天屠龙记] This means The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber – OST.

                • bloodiOS

That’s the point. This is one of those “borrowed” soundtracks not included in the album for the official ones, so who knows where TVB got this one from… Anyway, it was featured around the 36th minute of the 16th episode. It was also featured in the first episode of The Duke of Mount Deer 2000.

          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Sounds like it might be tough to figure out. I’ll try and research it a bit more after I get home tomorrow.

  • Tetsu

    Anyone here collect figures?

I have a large figure collection, well I think it’s large, 80-100 figures (including the plethora of 4-inch, 5-inch figures and non-scale figures, plus models) I probably have 25 1/8ths, and one 1/6th.

Tales of Xillia Collector’s Edition’s Milla was my newest addition, and it’s quite nice. Perhaps the best figure I’ve gotten in a CE of a game before.

I have a plushy shelf and a collection of signed wallscrolls, posters and shirts as well.

I was just looking around my desk area, and thinking about what other peoples’ game zones looked like.

    • Eclipse

That truly is a large figure collection! I only have around half of that. In fact, I have even less now because I just sold some Nendoroids & figmas due to how much space they were taking up >_<

I've bought quite a few various figures, but I mainly buy 'em from the Bakemonogatari and Toaru Majutsu no Index series.

My favorite would probably be Kotobukiya's take on Biribiri & Kuroko:

      http://livedoor.4.blogimg.jp/insidears/imgs/b/f/bfabd467.jpg

      • Tetsu

        Very nice! :D
I have a bunch of series I try to collect from, to complete certain sets.
There is never too little room! Make/buy wall shelf to expand…atleast that’s what I wanna do lol. But I don’t even have a space for a wall shelf, I’m literally out of room ha ha.
I have quite a bit of Kotobukiya and Alter figures.

    • PrinceHeir

the Mila figure and Uncharted 3 CE Drake are my first ones XD

i’m thinking of getting into collecting figures, but i don’t know how you guys manage to buy 100+ figures O___O

      • Tetsu

I started with models. Then I got 1 figure. Then 2 more…and here I am now XD

I’ve been collecting figures (what most would consider figures, highly detailed non-poseable stylized artistic renditions of anime/video game characters) for 6 years now, so it wasn’t just all at once :)

Just get a figure you really really really like to start off with. And after that you start developing tastes and styles, as well as income balancing.

Word of Advice: Try going to an Anime Convention Swap Meet! This is the BEST place to get a collection started on the cheap.

        Good Luck! :D

        • PrinceHeir

          thanks!!!

    • TheBlackRabbit

Tetsu….that is awesome, you are my idol now, XD

      • Tetsu

        Yay, a fan! XD
If I have the time I’ll take pics one of these days :)
It was a lot of fun collecting them all. Lots of bartering, importing and happenstance.
Unfortunately I don’t have the room to display them properly. It’s sooo many figures that are on my desk and one shelf (4 shelves to be exact on one shelf). But when i move, i sha’ll have a man-cave, and in it they will be displayed properly bwahahaha

        • TheBlackRabbit

lol the man cave huh? Go for it, and get me those pictures!

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

      Nope. No one at all.

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

A few of them didn’t make it into the picture there, lol. These are pretty old though, from a few years ago back when I was living in an apartment.

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Oh and before anyone spots the manga on the first shelf there and tries to go, “GAAAAAAAAAAAAY!”, I’m way ahead of you, lol. Yes, I had a BL/Shounen-Ai/Yaoi stage in my life as a teenager.

It’s the OPEN (d’ohoho) forum, so just throwing that out there.

          • bloodiOS

Damn, I never got to finish Dragon Voice

            • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

That makes two of us then, lol. I think it went up to volume 12 or so, but I stopped at 5. Not because I WANTED to, but simply because I had lost interest in reading manga, honestly.

              • bloodiOS

Me, I personally can’t buy the volumes anywhere (then again Tokyopop only published 10 of them), and there are only 35 chapters or so hosted online T__T

          • Budgiecat

            eww?

            • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Same reaction I have when I see your face :<

              • Budgiecat

My face is awesome just look at it. LOOK AT IT.

        • Tetsu

I like that manga shelf, that’s a great size and it’s thin. I need something like that.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Yeah, it was just a bookshelf I picked up a while back. It has four shelves, if I remember correctly. I’ve since moved it into storage because I don’t read manga any more, but it was good though, mainly to keep dust off of the books as well.

      • Tetsu

        Cool :)

      • Budgiecat

        I see no Godmars figure….

    • http://www.santashi.com/ Santashi

I do have quite a lot of figures, many of which are game related. I keep most in my granny’s china cabinet as they look nice in there but I do have a bunch around my room, too. It’s best if I don’t do any counting though!

    • Elvick

I want too… but they’re too expensive, and I buy too many things already. So it’s mostly exclusively figures from collector’s editions of games. Like Cole from inFamous 2, Millia from Xillia, Mickey from Epic Mickey, etc.

    • Kobracon

Figurines? Psh pls….I AM A MAN!

*Shelves of Gundams, Megazords and Transfomers behind him as he shouts*

Edit: Will share pics when I get home

  • PrinceHeir

    i wanna ask @zerorpg:disqus

my friend tried to comment in one of the articles here, yet it keeps saying his comment needs to be approved first even though he didn’t say anything wrong.

so does he need to be a official member here or what not?

he’s using his gmail account btw, so that’s probably it?

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Sounds odd. Which article? It could be something Disqus is doing. I do approve comments it flags for no reason everyday.

I would suggest merging whatever he is using to post with Disqus. It isn’t very hard to do. That should hopefully fix the problem.

      • PrinceHeir

well he is a first time member.

do you think he should create a disqus account instead?

        • bloodiOS

The problem would still persist, regardless whether one posted using Disqus or Gematsu account. It happened to me several times before. Just unlucky, I guess.

          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I think I’ve fixed that for you recently. I think!

            • bloodiOS

Yeah, it’s been working fine. That said, if I have any further problem, I’ll just randomly reply and let you know about the issue.

          • PrinceHeir

so what he should just make a disqus account now?

well he’s not fan of multiple accounts.

            • bloodiOS

Might as well, a Disqus account is more flexible anyway.

        • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I would suggest that. Then, I can do my best to add him to the system where his comments shouldn’t get auto flagged as much.

          • PrinceHeir

            ok then!!!

            thanks!!!

            • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Care for an update? Did your friend sign up?

              • PrinceHeir

Thanks for the effort :). But he decided to stay anonymous and just be a spectator. :/. He still visits the site frequently though. Probably he’ll register in the future. He said he doesn’t have anything to contribute so far so…

                • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Understood. I hope he decides to sign up someday soon. He can always come and post anything in here. =)

  • shogunknight

Just read an article about GTAV. Seems like the digital pre-load version was pulled from psn due to a possible leak out (Sony even gave an apology). I think it would have been better if Sony released this a week at best to the release date (they probably did this due to the large install size). Not really a gta fan though (i always just stop playing them even though they are really good) but for anyone getting it, i advise steering clear of websites that can leak out info (spoilers can be terrible at times)

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

It was on the European PSN Store specifically. People managed to data mine themes, artwork, that sort of thing. The trophy list was already added to PSNprofiles.

  • Raiyu

So, who here is playing A Realm Reborn Early Access? Having a lot of fun with it, one of the few MMOs that catches my interest. Currently a level 14 Pug, but I messed up and now want to be a Marauder so i can be a Dragoon :(

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

      Really? They changed it? Weird…

I do have Early Access, but honestly… I haven’t even played yet, lol. I’ve been too busy playing this new Super Robot Wars game. When I’m not playing it, I’m uploading gameplay of it, which means I can’t use my connection to play FFXIV: ARR.

It’s quite the conundrum at the moment, heh.

      • Raiyu

I’m going by what I’ve read on a few forums that they changed it, not sure if its true or not.

By the way, how is Pride of Justice? I’m thinking of picking it up after I finish the first two Masou Kishin games

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

I’m liking it so far, but… It’s rather difficult, so if you’re used to the casual difficulty of games like OG 2nd, save your money until a price drop. Also, if you weren’t into Masou Kishin before, you probably wouldn’t bother getting it now. The game hasn’t been well received in Japan for a few reasons, but yeah… If you like the first two Masou Kishin games and don’t mind a sudden difficulty spike (there are basically grunts in the game that can do 6-8k or more on a single unit, killing them in one hit, if they’re not a Masou unit), then go ahead and pick it up.

Basically, elements and tactics (like telling a unit which direction to face) play a huge factor in the game this time.

          • Budgiecat

wtf didn’t Aeon Genesis ever finish their SFC translation of the first game..

    • new_tradition

I’m actually working this weekend. All I’ve done so far is make my character (v3 of an Elven female I made in Phase 3 and Open Beta :3). I was too tired to do more than that :(

Also, there still seems to be server issues? I ended up on Lamia since alot of the recommended ones were full >_>

    • Ronaconda

Exactly what happened with me actually. Got a PUG to 13 only to find out I needed MAR instead to become a Dragoon!

All’s well though, PUG has some useful cross class skills.

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Cross class skills are quite useful in the game. It can be very beneficial to level up multiple classes. =)

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

You will need to level up Lancer too. =P

      • Raiyu

I thought the requirements for Dragoon were level 15 Pug and level 30 Marauder?

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

No Lancer for Dragoon? How would that even make sense? Lol.

Come on, man. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think “Dragoon” ? For me, it’s Kain!

          • Raiyu

Already have a Lancer. I just needed a Marauder cause the previous requirement was Pug.

            • Kobracon

Nono, the requirements are Lvl 30 lancer and lvl 15 Pug. You don’t even need a Marauder

              • Raiyu

Are you sure? I thought so at first too, but a thread on reddit says I need a level 30 Lancer and level 15 Marauder.

                • Kobracon

Oh thats what you meant. I think a few of us thought you meant you need Marauder and Pugilist to become a Dragoon, hence TetsuyaHikari’s post.

                  Unsure about that change then.

                  • Raiyu

Yeah, I probably should’ve made my post clearer…

They might have changed the secondary class requirements.

Was planning on staying up for the Level-5 Vision stream, but it turns out I was off by a whole day. Damn.

    • https://twitter.com/Panda_castro Panda

I wanted to but it’s going to be 3:00 am in my timezone when that happens.

      • Solomon_Kano

Yea, it’ll be 6 here, but I’m already up, so I figured I may as well catch it.

        • https://twitter.com/Panda_castro Panda

Now I can’t go to sleep after I read your comment -_-Might as well watch it.

          • Solomon_Kano

Haha. Well, I didn’t intend that, but at least you’ll catch it now lol.

          • Solomon_Kano

            Wait. I’m a dumbass, it’s Monday morning. Today’s Sunday.

            False alarm?

            • https://twitter.com/Panda_castro Panda

              Good. I ended up sleeping.

              • Solomon_Kano

Good. I woulda felt bad if you’d ended up staying up for nothing.

    • ShinGundam

      When?

      • Solomon_Kano

        Tomorrow.

  • http://www.santashi.com/ Santashi

Just started Monster Monpiece. I seem to be drowning in trophies!

    • MasterSensei

I really want that game to be localised so that I can do the “extreme rub” on the train and just watch how other people react to me…

  • Azuardo

FF14 players, I heard there’s a time limit on being able to continue the game with your phase 4 beta data. Anyone know if this is true? I’m sure I heard it lasts throughout the launch window, but don’t know anything else. I was hoping I would be able to resume my character from the beta at any time in the future that I pick the game up, but it sounds like I may need to get the game before a certain point, unless I want to start with a brand new character again.

Thanks for anyone that has info on this!

    • Laura

That’s not true. You can use your character from beta 4 unless S-E haves to delete the beta 4 data.

      • Azuardo

Ahh thank you! So I could technically wait until the PS4 version before I actually play the full game, and still reload my phase 4 character then.

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Yeah, seeing as they’ve already moved on from phase 4 to early access, I’d say the chances of having your phase 4 data being deleted are pretty much slim to none… Lol.

When does humor go too far? This is actually a discussion my friend and I were having for a while, until we both got fed up with each other and ended the discussion. I’ll try to keep this brief.

He was saying that it’s alright for people to joke about rape because everyone has a right to make jokes, whether they offend someone or not. He then proceeded to defend said jokes by saying that humor can often offend someone, but in the long run, the tradeoff is worth it.

Now, personally… I don’t think this has anything to do with one’s personal preference for humor. I simply just do NOT believe rape is funny, any way you slice it. This was what I was trying to explain to him, but he continually defended it by saying that everyone has this right to express themselves through humor and it isn’t his place, or my own, to tell them otherwise. Granted, I do believe everyone has that right, but much like any other right… Sometimes people stretch their freedom a bit too far.

I COULD make jokes about cancer, but should I? Absolutely not. It’s just not right, simple as that. Well, that’s how I feel about it anyway. What are your thoughts on this matter?

Do you believe even the poorest taste of jokes should be considered acceptable, such as making fun of rape, or should there be a line drawn somewhere?

    • Nice Boat

Yeah, there are subjects humor should never touch. Child abuse and rape are never going to be funny to me. Maybe it would be acceptable if it was a hypothetical situtation or if the person who tells the jokes was the subject of the joke to avoid offending others.

    • Elvick

You believing rape jokes aren’t funny, doesn’t really have much to do with whether we should tell them or not. So I agree with your friend.

      They are two separate things.

I don’t think drug jokes are funny, but I just sigh and wait until that segment is over or change the channel/stop watching/whatever.

And anyone that I know personally, knows what I do and don’t like. So that’s not an issue either.

Believing something is morally wrong, so we probably shouldn’t do it, doesn’t mean we force everyone not to. Especially when it’s about something like a joke…

In fact, since society frowns on many jokes, it’s more than likely someone making the “unacceptable” ones would just be met with negative reaction. Which would in turn leave them with a problem.

No one likes to come off looking bad in personal situations. No comedian wants to have no one come to their shows.

They’ll eventually tailor to what works anyway.

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Honestly, I believe society has been desensitized to rape, violence, domestic abuse, abusive alcoholics, etc. due to media (video games, music, television, that sort of thing). If this was 30+ years ago, people wouldn’t even CONSIDER joking about rape. People SHOULDN’T be considering it now, but yeah… Times have changed.

I’m not saying we should force people not to make these jokes, but instead of being like my friend here, someone should definitely be the mature individual and stand up when hearing something like this, and tell them, “Hey man, that’s not cool.” or something similar. You know, rather than standing idly by as you claim to do. If you simply stand on the sideline and watch people behave in a manner that should be considered morally wrong, you’re no better than the people making the joke because you’re letting them do it since saying something would cause a confrontation, conflict, so forth and so on.

This only fortifies their mentality that this sort of thing is okay, when nobody tells them any differently. The last thing my friend had to say about this was, “Yeah, I’d rather not become a moral crusader, thanks. I’ll just continue to enjoy all humor just as I always have.” So I told him, “Tell ya what then… If you’re ever raped in the future, I’ll tell you a joke or two about your experience to bring up your spirits. That only seems fair, right? Yeah, that’s what I thought.”

A lot of people don’t bother putting themselves into a hypothetical situation, asking themselves how they would feel if they were the one being made fun of. They just laugh because it was someone else and not themselves. Just think… These are the same kind of people that thought it would be hilarious to put up a ‘Harlem Shake’ video using footage from the Boston bombing not even 12 hours after the event.

Do you REEEEEEEEALLY want to defend someone like that? My friend claims he’s against rape, but it’s honestly hard to take him seriously when he’s laughing about it.

        • Elvick

Thinking it’s okay to joke about doesn’t mean you’re desensitized to rape itself.

It means you know the difference between a joke and the act itself.

But, that’s all else I have to say on the matter.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

The act of the joke itself means you don’t know the difference. I mean, how would you even play that off anyway? Tell the rape joke and be like, “Oh, don’t worry, guys. I know rape is wrong, but it’s a joke, so it’s okay.” or what?

There are literally BILLIONS of things you could come up with to joke about before reaching that topic. An adult should know better than to do that, honestly. When you stoop to that level of behavior, you’re no better off than the guys I remember going to high school with… The jocks that would make fun of the mentally challenged students.

It’s just not cool. Anybody who can laugh at someone who has a mental disability, a story about rape, homosexuality, so forth and so on, really should take a look at themselves in the mirror. The real joke is themselves… It’s a joke that someone can honestly be that insensitive, immature, and downright despicable, and still consider themselves a human being.

    • LordKaiser

Some people are more sensitive than others and take stuff too seriously. But some jokes simply makes the person saying it look stupid because they’re so badly made.

    • Kobracon

Where exactly do you stand though? Is it an joke that even has the WORD rape? or a joke directly about a rape. I’m never a believer of things being just black and white and always look at the context before judging anything.

If someone told a funny story that was genuinely fun and just happened to contain rape of a fictional nature, I would laugh. If it were about a recent or real and tragic rape, I would be appalled.

I find some comedians jokes about 9/11 or the London subway bombings funny if done tastefully. One should never condemn something outright. That cancer joke could be funny if the cancer patient is a good sport. Plus laughter is the best medicine after all.

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Laughter is only the best medicine when the person you are trying to cure isn’t at the expensive of your humor. It doesn’t really matter if they’re a “good sport” about something like that. They’ve got cancer. What would you expect them to do, crawl out of bed and kick your ass or something?

They don’t really have much of a choice in their current position, most of the time. As for the 9/11 comment… I find nothing “tasteful” about people jumping out of windows 30 stories up, getting crushed by a crumbling building, etc. I think there are some things which ARE simply in black and white… And you just don’t joke about tragedies like that.

I just don’t know what’s wrong with a lot of people these days. You have one person make a tasteless joke, then they get a following and it turns into a snowball effect where you have more and more people believing that the joke is okay because someone else said it (it’s even worse if they have a reputation because it attracts more attention). At the end of the day, you’re left disagreeing with this group of people and you’re the only one on your side to do so, so naturally… Everyone turns against you for standing up for something which SHOULD be morally wrong, claiming you’re just being a “stick in the mud” because you don’t agree with this sense of tasteless humor which seems to be socially acceptable. I think that’s all it comes down to, really.

The snowball becomes so big that hardly anybody is willing to stand against it. They’re afraid of not fitting in and it would just be easier for them to become part of the snowball than attempt to fight it, so they encourage the behavior and the snowball grows larger and gains more momentum. At least if someone stands up early on, when the joke is told, then they could attempt to stop this kind of behavior from spreading like a disease.

It just saddens me that people are willing to settle for humor that pokes fun at others or terrible situations, just to get a laugh. They seem to forget that there are plenty of ways to experience humor without offending anyone at all. It really makes me wonder what kind of society we will live in come 10 years or so from now.

Will we begin making fun of animal cruelty? Oh wait… People already do that *sigh*

Anyone here playing FFXIV ARR on server Siren?
My character’s name is Valence Fiedra. Feel free to add me if we’re on the same server :D I’m currently lv 15 as thaumaturge and lv 8 as arcanist. You can also add my twitter @astearica

Anyways I was experiencing a lot of issues in early access.. Instanced battle was stuck, and I couldn’t login sometimes.. They keep doing maintenance too. I hope it will be completely fixed soon enough. I had fun though! :D

  • Nice Boat

Hi guys. A bit late but I started playing the Onimusha games. Does anybody here have a favorite or one that he dislikes? If so, please reply and give me your opinion.

    • futuristic_imagination

I really like onimusha 3 and dawn of dreams. I like 3 because of the gameplay, its more fluid than onimusha and onimusha 2’s tank controls (aka resident evil controls). I like dawn of dreams because its like all onimusha games combined.

I didn’t like the first two games because I made the mistake and played 3 and dawn of dreams first. The controls made the game a little bit difficult to play. It like playing resident evil 3 after playing resident evil 6.

In my opinion I think you should play the games in order. You will appreciate the changes in each game.

Man talking about onimusha makes whished that capcom continued the series in this current or even the next-generation consoles.

      • Nice Boat

I heard Onimusha 4 adds some RPG elements. Onimusha 2’s controls sometimes bother me because I can’t block in time and dodging can be quite tedious.

      • shogunknight

Yep, 3 and 4 were my best. Would really love a reboot or a sequel right now

        • Budgiecat

REmake not good enough for ya??? HUH??

      • Budgiecat

        That’s funny….cause Resident Evil 3 destroys Resident Evil 6

        • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

And Resident Evil 4 destroys Resident Evil 3, lol.

          • Nice Boat

And Resident Evil 5 destroys… Oh never mind ._.

            • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

              Nice one.

          • PrinceHeir

i’m not too sure about that.

i really enjoyed RE3, more so than RE2.

but it’s hard to choose which is better since both are excellent titles!

            • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

              >i really enjoyed RE3, more so than RE2.

Ah, but you didn’t say you enjoyed RE3 more than RE4, so my statement stands!

              • PrinceHeir

that’s why it’s hard to choose between RE3 and RE4 because both are definitely my favorites in the series ^^

    • Kobracon

Aw you’re in for an awesome ride. Personally, I had tons of fun with Onimusha 2. I played it the most, it had the best song, and was the first to introduce multiple playable characters. It had four routes you could branch off to depending on which character you made the best friends with. I finished all the routes just to get that sexy costume for the chick XD

Next would be Onimusha Dawn of Dreams followed by Onimusha 3. Man I love the series…..dammit Capcom T_T

      • Nice Boat

Knowing Capcom’s latest activities leaving it dead can be the best. Still, the lack of a HD collection is ridiculous.

    • PrinceHeir

i never played Dawns of Dreams(the thing costs too much amazon at the time, will check it now)

      the first three are amazing.

my favorites was one and two.

three was good, but there’s too much modern stuff going around, Jean Reno was cool, but i felt like he wasn’t necessary.

do like the idea of traveling back and forth, but i prefer set in the 1800s in japan.

it’s hard to decide between one and two because both are amazing.

i love one due to it’s amazing sword play at that time, and it really felt like a gem out of nowhere.

2 was great since it was more open ended and allowed you to visit small towns for you to rest and buy armor.

the bossfights are my favorites, especially gogandantess!!

shame they removed the JPN audio, the english was good, but jubei’s voice feels funny at times.

i do wonder how Dawn of Dreams plays?

heard it was a combination of everything?

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I loved the series. I think Dawn of Dreams was my favorite. I loved the RPG elements it added.

  • 罪罰

I want Under Night In-Birth on consoles already, French Bread do a kickstarter already ;_;7

    • bloodiOS

I was once told that the game was broken beyond repair and that I shouldn’t waste my time worrying about either the game or its generic characters. So, really, is any of that true?

      • 罪罰

it looks really fun to me :(

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Meh. I’d rather have UNIB than Guilty Gear Xrd right now, honestly. Poverty fighters ftw :3

        • bloodiOS

I’d like it if both would come to consoles, but for Xrd, I’ll probably wait for an inevitable enhanced edition of it before even bother =P

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Yeah, probably best to wait until Guilty Gear Xrd XX Plus #Reload Slash Accent Core comes out.

        • Budgiecat

          thats unacceptable

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

            You’re unacceptable D:

            • Budgiecat

              No. THAT’S unacceptable

  • McPoo

Miiverse is one of the only good things about the Wii U, and even then it needs a LOT of work. For starters, it could do with being less sensivitve about moderations. I’ve been suspended (again) for the following comment:

“My uncle Iwata-San told me that Gandalf the Grey is in the next Smash Bros. Has anyone else heard this? My uncle works for Nintendo so it should be true!”

    Ridiculous.

    • Budgiecat

      family friendly fascists?

      • McPoo

I did get to get a bit of a thread going before it got binned, but it was mostly people calling me a troll and saying my Uncle Iwata-San wasn’t really my uncle (he is).

I would contest the moderation but that would involve turning the console on, and ain’t nobody got time for dat.

        • Budgiecat

Well honestly the only thing that has my true interest for Wii U is X.

          • McPoo

I’ve seen a lot of people with the same opinion. As far as I know, not much is known about the game right? Is it the fact it has mechs and is made by that company everyone loves that is getting people interested?

I’m genuinely curious, as I have no interest in it myself, but I know the company behind it seems to be much loved. Doesn’t seem like my sort of thing tbh

            • Tetsu

It’s a spiritual successor to a fantastic game, which yes, everyone loves, from a great company.
And yes, giant mechs help :)

            • Budgiecat

It’s basically: “Well Xenoblade was amazing now this is by the same developer, looks similar and even more epic and has giant fucking mecha in it like Xenogears back in the day so whats not to love”

              • McPoo

I will ask Uncle Iwata-San for his opinion on it later :)

              • Tetsu

                Gold Face vs Anubis!

  • Locksus

I picked The Witcher: Enhanced Edition for a mere 1.99 on Steam. I have never played it before, even though I’ve finished TW2 numerous times.

So far, I’m digging it, even though it shows that the budget wasn’t that big.

    It’s got great music, too.

    • DrForbidden

It’s not a bad game, definitely, but I find the combat to be the weakest link in the chain. Music, atmosphere, story, and characterization are by far the game’s strongest points. By the way, I would definitely recommend installing texture mods with the game. Makes the game environment look much, much better. I’m also playing the game with the Full Combat Rebalance mod, but I think that’s entirely optional. The texture mods are boss, though.

      • Locksus

Yeah, the click-based combat is definitely different, but it’s functional. As you said, the world, atmosphere, story and especially the fitting music are the strong points.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think I’ll install the texture mod, but I can manage with the current combat system :p

    PLATINUM IS DEAD

    Finally! Also, I’m going to post this little warning about the $100,000,000 trophy in hopes that whoever buys the NA release doesn’t encounter the same issue I did with the game ;w;

Well, maybe “warning” is too strong of a word, but still… I just
thought I’d let people know about this anyway since it kind of screwed
me over in the JP version. After beating the game, you brought to a
result screen which shows how much money you’ve accumulated so far.
Don’t make the same mistake I did and think once you break $100,000,000
on there, you’ll get the trophy.

The description is vague, so I
was unsure and I ended up buying all of the female costumes already,
leaving me to grind the first stage on Very Hard for hours just to build
up my cash. So yeah… They want you to have $100,000,000 on you at
once, so my advice would be to simply wait on buying the expensive
costumes until you’ve got the $100,000,000 trophy.

Just trying to save some people some grief, that’s all, lol.

    • Tetsu

What game are we talking about?

I think so. All I remember is the last part of my days in that game was spent fishing until Platinum, lol.

Your first words actually gave me a brief heart attack. I thought you were talking about Platinum Games, was like ‘WHAT?!?!?”

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Of course something like that couldn’t happen =3=

  • Tetsu

So here we are, smack dab in the swell of august.
I’ve been playing Dragon’s Crown for 15 hours, and started Xillia–12 hours into that. And we’re only 2 days away from FFXIV and Killer is Dead.

Why do games come in waves like this? I hadn’t been playing games for months before Dragon’s Crown came out, and this happens every year, usually in Fall.

Then next month, for me, we have Wonderful 101 and Ys IV.

So many games. So little time.

    • McPoo

There’s not been much I’ve been interested in recently, then at the end of August it’s Xcom, Saints Row and Splinter Cell. I can’t afford any of them so I’ve added them to my future purchase list. Hoping to get SC as soon as possible though as I want in on the online before the çommunity dies.

Doubt ill get any of them for at least a few months though, as GTA is out in 3 weeks, and I can’t wait for that. In the meantime I’ve got a massive backlog of PS Plus and 360 sale games to get through. Got a 3DS recently too so have been playing Animal Crossing and Lego City. Just started Paper Mario tonight too.

Fancy playing something on console, as I finished Mafia 2 last week, but can’t decide what. Whatever I choose I want to have done by GTA Day >_<

Did anyone watch the level 5 presentation?

I hate how some people would read a NTR manga and then criticize those who like it by saying: “How can people like this, do you like it happening to you in real life, too?” STOP RIGHT THERE! Seriously, if you hate that stuff then just say so, don’t hate on other people while confusing reality with fantasy… Because one likes something in a hentai manga does not mean one would like the equivalent in real life. Real life people don’t feel sexual satisfaction while being raped, they don’t show that ahegao expression, they were not drawn by an author with the full intention of arousing the readers, and seriously, seeing people being brutally assaulted and have their lives ruined in real life can NEVER arouse anyone! People love to forget that characters in hentai manga don’t have a life, they are simply there for the sole purpose of entertaining the readers.

    • Kobracon

Fair enough. Personally hate NTR, more a Vanilla man myself.

Just like how ppl also criticize ppl who like giant breasts or mega breast hentai’s. It is just fantasy, as if ppl have never fantasized before.

      • bloodiOS

Have you read Ane-Koi ? A pretty decent vanilla manga in my opinion (if you’re into wincest.)

        • Kobracon

I read Giri-Giri Sisters, so yes I’m fine with wincest XD

Will check it out when not in a place that would get me fired for looking XD

        • PrinceHeir

          love it :)

though if you want the more hardcore ones go with MTSP, Nagare Ippon, and the like ^^

          • bloodiOS

Hey now, I wasn’t trying to recommend those over-the-top stuffs for Kobracon ;)

            • PrinceHeir

nah he knows his stuff :P

besides he knows the best H-manga site in the world!

i think you already know what it is :P

    • PrinceHeir

      i actually don’t mind NTR.

i love the art, but i don’t like the multiple males being there.

especially 45+ year old males ‘-____-

      • bloodiOS

Have you tried reading Tanaka Aji’s works? Just find some works with the words Unsweet Netorare. Most NTR stuffs are either light or strong hits, but Aji’s works are some serious critical hits, made to test your tolerance. That said, I personally prefer Sanbun Kyoden’s stuffs.

  • Sae-Won Yoon

I went and saw The World’s End last night.
And god It was fucking awesome.

I don’t even drink that much alcohol. Still it was fun and seeing Pegg as Gary King was almost a very interesting character study.

It’s a shame that it’s the last of the apparently titled “Cornetto Trilogy” because I would love to see maybe one more film by Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost.

Speaking of Frost, him in this film was treat. Especially when he gets very, VERY drunk.

    • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

My buddy saw it on Friday, and has been begging me to see it since. I really want to. Gonna make sure I do by next weekend.

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I also watched it this weekend. Great movie. I loved it! It’s right up there with the other two films in the trilogy imo.

    • McPoo

I wasn’t too keen on it personally. Better than Shaun of the Dead, but much worse than Hot Fuzz. I wasn’t that keen on Shaun though, tbh.

I went to see it with my girlfriend at a showing of the full trilogy one after the other, with intros by Pegg, Frost and Wright. One guy in the cinema made a trailer about his first date with a girl to see SotD and at the end asked her to marry him. Was quite sweet, but a bit awkward at the same time, as everyone was looking in my direction, so I took a quick look around but couldn’t spot the couple. Turned out they were literally the 2 seats behind mine >_>

    • http://www.santashi.com/ Santashi

While I did like it, I didn’t think it was quite as sharply written as Hot Fuzz. Still a good film though! And yes, at that point I thought ‘I can see why he doesn’t drink normally’. ;)

I saw Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa last week and found that my jaw hurt from constant laughing by the end of it so if you’re looking for another comedy film and haven’t seen that yet then I heartily recommend it.

    • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

I really, really want to see it. And I agree, I’m slightly depressed this is the last movie from the trio (allegedly). But on the plus side, this means Edgar Wright can finally get his ass to work on Ant-Man.

  • Kobracon

    WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

    I have rejected my humanityyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Thanks to all who helped me change my Avatar. It was a good time to change it anyway!

    • Budgiecat

It’s amazing how much higher the level of quality JoJo is and most people don’t even know or realize and would rather watch or read garbage Moe harem cliche crap

      • Kobracon

Thats what we’re here for! To educate the masses!

  • MasterSensei

Is anyone following news on Operation Suzaku (the campaign to get Final Fantasy Type-0 localised) because it feels like it hasn’t produced any results. A game like that would definately help the Vita sales don’t you think?

    • Gigus

The only thing I can remember about the localization is that a small team of psp homebrewers are working on the subtitles on their own.

I really doubt Square would bring it to the west due to their ridiculous high expectations in sales for any game they publish. I am aware that there has been a change in head chairmen or executives but I haven’t really seen any actual changes yet.

The only way type-0 will go on vita and be brought to the west is if Sony partners up with Square with publishing.

      • Azuardo

I read the team actually had Type-0 running in HD on PS3 at one point. Wish they would just do the right thing and release it digitally on PSN for PS4/PS3/Vita. Would save the cost of physical discs and shipping etc. Maybe print some limited edition physical copies that the diehards would go for, too. I’m still hopeful that we’ll see it here one day…in some shape or form.

        • Gigus

In the business world there is no right thing except profit. The only thing I can say is if we don’t see it in this year’s TGS, there is a good chance the US version is canned.

          • Azuardo

Indeed. A *good* thing, then, would be for SE to try and get back on the good side of its fans and make them happy by giving them this game. Doing it in the cheapest way possible (i.e. digitally) would be the most logical way.

            • Gigus

Again I know I sound negative already XD but SE hasn’t been so great with fan service either lol. The only “logical” way SE would bring type-0 to the west is to work with Sony. *Disclaimer: Clearly my opinion. Feel free to disagree*

              • Azuardo

I know. I mean that they’re only now just starting to try and get back on fans’ good side, and this would be a step in the right direction. I agree: working with Sony would be a very good idea. Both Sony and SE know demand is there, so I wouldn’t rule out them cooperating to sort something out in the long run.

                • Gigus

I’m not sure if any of them know there is a demand…… well maybe they do know but it doesn’t meet sales expectations. I think the only good thing they have done recently was not canning Versus (15).

There is a fanbase for XIII that I’m aware of but I kinda hate the XIII series more after the weird fan service they’re doing to Lightning. Not really sure I can take the character seriously anymore. So far I have not bought any RPGs till recently (Tales of Xillia). Square-Enix only has one more chance with me as an FF fan.

                  • Azuardo

I think the recent #JRPGVita campaign would have highlighted a desire for Type-0 to Sony to some extent. To SE sales-wise, though? No, not enough demand, else we would have had them by now.

I’ll be giving LRFF13 a chance, since I always do, but I agree it’s been a disappointing time for FF fans. I think it’s impossible for 15 to live up to expectations its set for itself, too. But I hope it’ll be the start of good things.

                    • Gigus

The only thing that really reinvigorated my interest in 15 was the new gameplay elements they added to the series. I also noticed they added alittle stealth gameplay at the end of the e3 trailer.

Hopefully, they’ll let that gameplay element be a choice for the player.

        • MasterSensei

From what i’ve seen Type-0 looks like a really fun game with interesting combat and characters I’ve also been hearing nothing but praise and good news about the game It seems like if they do release this game it would sell really well. I’ve also heard that the localisation has already been done but it’s shelved… why would they go through all the trouble in the first place and just tease us with the possibility that it could have come out.

If they release this game it COULD be the first step in making fans like SE again.

    • http://zefhar.deviantart.com Zefhar

I am, but I don’t think it will have much effect on SE’s decissions.

    • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

That game would definitely sell a shit ton of Vitas. And thus, a shit ton of copies of Type-0. But Squeenix has unrealistically high expectations and no longer has the marbles to take chances, so I’m not sure we’ll ever see an official localisation.

Hell, I’d re-buy a Vita just for that game.

  • Gigus

I didn’t know the level 5 presentation needed premium access. Oh well.

    *edit*
    NVM

  • Azuardo

Downloading Dragon’s Crown. Don’t really know much about it tbh. Let’s see how it goes…

    • Charlottes Guardian

From what I’ve heard from my brother, its very, very good!

I’m looking forward to picking it up myself :D

      • Azuardo

Great! I had no idea of the type of game it was really, apart from being an RPG of some sort. But lots of people seem to say it’s good so looks like I’m in for a good game :)

    • Kobracon

Do you like side scrolling beat-em ups and RPGs with random loot systems ala Diablo? If yes, you just made the best decision of your life!

      • Azuardo

Well I do enjoy those types of games, though I haven’t played Diablo before. But this bodes well! Looking forward to getting through it. Decided to be the Sorceress and will see how I do.

        • Kobracon

Be warned that the mages are marked for Expert players. They are glass cannons and take quite a bit of thought and repositioning (and charging) to play solo (which you will be for the first few hours of the game unless you have a friend to local multiplayer with

          • Azuardo

Aye, I read that they were for Expert players, but I did a little reading beforehand and decided to go with it anyway. If shit gets tough, I’ll just restart with the Fighter or something.

    • PrinceHeir

      are you getting Diablo 3?

looks fun as hell on consoles ^^

      • Azuardo

Never crossed my mind tbh. It’s an MMO right? I’ve never bothered with MMOs, save for trying out FF14, which I am now seriously considering getting at some point. If it doesn’t have sub fees, then it may be one I’ll consider in the future :)

        • PrinceHeir

          nah it’s not.

it’s more of a dungeon crawler game where you hunt loot and armor.

feels like an arena style game and has some MOBA mechanics(one character control, skill based game)

you’ll enjoy it once you get the good stuff.

though i’ll probably wait for the PS4 version, since they might fix alot of stuff by then as well as include the expansion pack in one price ^^

Final Fantasy XIV ARR definitely is doing a lot of good things right now ^^

          • Azuardo

Oh interesting! I’ll have to look into it further. But yeah, I think I would wait till PS4 too, if I do go for it. I may do the same with FF14 and wait for PS4 version as well.

            • PrinceHeir

              haha we’re the same XD

i don’t mind waiting, i already have tons of games to play!

              • Azuardo

Agreed XD Though I am finding it really hard to resist buying FF14 right now :(

  • Charlottes Guardian

So I noticed that the hype train for this mysterious “X” game from Monolith is lacking, and I was just wondering if anyone else was excited about it! I don’t have a lot of knowledge of what it is exactly or how it will play but from what I’ve seen, mechs, open world, grand scale, it all just looks so awesome T.T And if you haven’t seen anything about it I suggest you look it up!!

Also, I’ve never played any other game from this developer, so I was just wondering if the guys over at Monolith make some quality stuff. I sure hope so xD I wan’t to know what you guys think!

    • Azuardo

The main game everyone will praise Monolith for is Xenoblade on Wii. You haven’t played that one? JRPG fans will tell you to get on it! I did enjoy that game, and ‘X’ looks like it could relate to it in some way. It might not, but it could do.

They’ve also made the Baten Kaitos games, and some Xenosaga games. I think most will tell you they are a very good RPG developer, so I would say we have every right to expect great things from ‘X’ :)

      • Kobracon

Xenoblade? Psh its good but they’ve done way better. Xenogears was their best work to alot of ppl. Personally I love Xenosaga trilogy.

As you can see Charlotte, Monolith Soft likes the letter X. They aren’t necessarily related, but seeing has Xenogears and Saga was an RPG that heavily featured mechs, the hype around ‘X’ might be its possible relation to previous games, if at all.

Xenoblades was even somewhat related in theme, even though it had no playable robots (you mainly fight them)

        • Azuardo

Yeah? I’ve not played any of the Xenogears/-saga games, but I notice everyone raves about Xenoblade. They sound a very reliable JRPG dev, though.

          • Kobracon

They are. They have a tendency to think too big though. Xenogears had so much planned that they ran out of money and had to cut alot in disc 2. Xenosaga had such a grand story scope that there are sites dedicated to the story and the lore.

Again, sadly, they didn’t have the reception and the budget enough for the original 6 game idea. instead we got a trilogy that actually only comprised of 2 of the 6 planned arcs. Xenosaga 2 was supposed to be part of Xenosaga 1.

            • Azuardo

              Interesting info, thanks for sharing!

    • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

No game validates my purchase of a Wii U more than X (which is totally going to be revealed to be a Xenoblade sequel).

  • Azuardo

If anyone has DOA5 on PS3, and would like to help me in boosting for my 1000 fights trophy, please give me a shout! I only need approx 100 more now, so just trying to do some short lobby matches. If anyone here fancies helping me out in some quick, non-competitive matches, let me know :)

  • PrinceHeir

anyone seen the western reviews of Killer is Dead?

    http://www.allgamesbeta.com/2013/08/killer-is-dead-reviews-round-up.html

kinda bullshit how they think Killer is Dead is juvenile, while games like Grand Theft Auto V where you have prostitution as mini game and sex trafficking are part of the game and it’s “ok”

    fucking hypocrites.

oh well, not gonna stop me from buying this game that’s for sure

    • Azuardo

Some are saying it has bad camera angles too, but I have no idea if they impact the enjoyment massively. I’ll probably buy it when it’s in the sales because I’m really interested in it, though I think my hype has died a little bit.

      • PrinceHeir

yeah, the marketing seems pretty quite here compared to japan.

which is funny because the marketed the hell out of that game and only sold few copies :(

still getting this, love Suda51 games!!!

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Can you send me an email sometime? zero at gematsu dot com

        Thanks.

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I’m really surprised at how low some of the review scores are. =/

    • DrForbidden

It’s the same principle behind why some Japanese games get called repetitive, while western FPS games are all “ok” when it comes to repetitiveness. Haters gonna hate…

  • futuristic_imagination

Ah man, looks like I might not get my copy of Killer is Dead today. I might check again in the afternoon.

    Anyone got the game yet?

EDIT: Oh well back to Xillia to finish my Milla run and platinum this game.
EDIT2: Got Xillia platinum and my copy of KiD :) best Wednesday ever!

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I sent you an email to your yahoo email address. Check it out when you can. =)

      • futuristic_imagination

I sent you a reply, so just a heads up, I just got a little carried away in playing Killer Is Dead.

        • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

          Thanks. =)

  • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I got my copy of the Final Fantasy XIV CE in the mail today. I decided to take a few pictures. For fun, I also decided to include some pictures of the original Collector’s Edition.

Warning – These pictures are pretty big.

Most of these pics are pretty self explanatory. Same name, different game. =)

The last picture was my favorite part of the original Collector’s Edition. You had to request this, but they would send you back an official right of passage. I’m no longer an elf, but I still quite like it.

    • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

Mine actually came on Monday (through Amazon), which was pretty cool (actually it was for my fie since I’m on PC). I’m actually a little underwhelmed by the CE. But I don’t even mind because the game is so damn fun.

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I’m happy with mine. I think it’s pretty nice for the price. =)

        • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

Yeah, it’s not bad by any means, but I just think it could have come with more. A figurine or statue or something. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by other CEs. Even despite that, I don’t regret the purchase by a long shot. But damn if that artbook isn’t sexy. I didn’t expect it to be a hardcover with a jacket.

          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I would have loved more but then the price would have been higher. =P

            • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

Can’t argue the truth in that statement….XD

    • PrinceHeir

      wow this is amazing!!!!!!

your making me regret not buying this!

btw in the last pic, how the hell did you get your character’s name on one of those award thing?

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

It was a special thing with the original Collector’s Edition. I included it because I took some pics of the original.

It’s called the Right of Passage. You basically had a limited time to fill out a form with your character’s details. Once you did, Square-Enix would email you a right of passage with your character name and stuff on it.

Just like it shows – My original character was a Duskwight Elezen from Gridania.

I decided to change my race and home town in A Real Reborn. I took a picture of it because I still like it. One of these days I might frame it for fun. =)

        • PrinceHeir

          amazing stuff!!

          glad you got both versions!!!

this will definitely be a vintage rare collection in the coming years!

          also love the Roy Avatar!!

watched Fullmetal Alchemist(both anime and brotherhood last november 2012)

          and wow what a series!!!

          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I enjoyed both series. I have to give the nod to Brotherhood. It followed the manga, where the prior anime changed things up a bit.

I consider Brotherhood to be one of the all time best. It’s most certainly in my top list, with series like Cowboy Bebop and Gits SAC. To name a few. ^^

            • PrinceHeir

Ghost in the Shell SAC is definitely on my top 2 along with Darker Than Black Ryuusei no Gemini ^^

i’m thinking of watching Cowboy Bebop since i have the JPN BD’s as well ^^

but the US will also release a BD version, do wonder if it will use the same video quality as well?

              • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

They should be both even. I originally watched Bebop with the dubs. I’ve since went back and re-watched it in both Japanese and English. I prefer the dubs, but it might just be me. I’m sure I’m naturally fond of the series the way I first experienced it.

    • Charlottes Guardian

      So cooool T.T

      Also, COLONEL MUSTANG!! :D

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I felt like it was time for a switch.

        *Snaps Finger*

    • Kobracon

Dayum son! I’m pretty sure as I collect paychecks, CEs will start looking cheap XD

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

The PS3 CE only cost me about $73 on amazon. I had a bit of amazon credit I added to it, brought the price down about $10.

I’m happy with the price for the content. The original CE was kinda lacking. Considering you had to fill out a form and get the best part sent to you in the mail. =P

I don’t regret buying it. I don’t regret buying the original Final Fantasy XIV to be honest. Sure, it was broken and mostly disappointing. I still ended up getting some good fun out of it, made some friends, memories, etc.

It could have been worse. If I remember correctly, the Japanese FFXIV 1.0 CE included this like drinking cup. One big problem. They made it with some kind of toxic chemical, if you actually tried to drink out of it you would get sick or worse. Talk about silly. xD

  • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

I’m not sure how many people here care, but Youtube will be removing the video response feature on 9/12/2013. Well, there goes my views and the convenience of simply clicking a video to access the next part of my playthroughs. Thanks a lot, Youtube.

I am NOT going through 450+ videos, adding annotations you can click for every one of these videos. Fuck you, Youtube. Argh… Still, this is just stupid and frustrating to no end.

    • Azuardo

Hmm… are your vids not in playlists? If they are, that would make clicking the next part of the vid much easier, no?

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Yeah, I always put them in a playlist.

        • Azuardo

Okay, but that shouldn’t mean you have a problem for clicking the next vid, right? And if it’s being played from the playlist, it will automatically go to the next vid too.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

I don’t actually watch as much as I upload, so I’m not really as familiar with the playlist format as I SHOULD be, I guess, but I always assumed that video responses were just more convenient.

            • Azuardo

Ahh. Well I think your vids will be fine without the video response option. I understand it might be annoying if you’re so used to using that, but so long as they’re all lined up in the correct order in a playlist, accessing the next part should be okay :)

              • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

                Yeah, I guess you’re right. I’m just used to doing things in a particular way, I’m a little frustrated that things are changing. Still… It is quite annoying they are taking away such a helpful feature though ;w;

                • Azuardo

I know. YouTube is constantly changing for the worst every time there is an update, it seems. There’s a few things I still hate about it because of things that have disappeared, too. Hope you manage to deal with the change, though :) It’ll be fine.

                  • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Thanks. I’ll do my best :3

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

That sounds pretty stupid imo. I don’t like when features are simply removed.

  • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

I said it last week, but I’ll go ahead and say it again here since people have been messaging me left and right about Western review scores for Killer is Dead. I’ve played through it a few times, got all of the trophies and whatnot in the JP version, so if you have any questions about what they are giving bad scores for, I can answer them for you. Try to refrain from spoilers though. If you want to ask how the combat system is, camera angles, replay value, so forth and so on, that’s fine.

    • McPoo

Do you agree with the middling scores?

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

No. Personally, I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

EDIT: Then again… I do have a soft spot for Akira Yamaoka, so that explains the slightly biased increase in points, haha. Still, even if it wasn’t for that, my rating would be higher than 5.

  • McPoo

When people say a Japanese game is ‘moe’, what does that mean? :s

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

      Cute/adorable/etc.

  • McPoo

Nintendo still haven’t “solved the unified account problem”. Really? It’s 2013! This is something that got sorted in 2006. Why are they struggling with it?

I swear Nintendo are so ass backwards at times I wonder why I keep buying their stuff.

Hopefully they’ll get it eventually. I’m just making sure to never buy anything digital from them until it’s sorted. And until they have a cross-buy system in place.

I wanted to pre-order Kingdom Hearts 1.5 so I went to the website and it said “Pre-order your limited edition today” and that website led me on to Amazon (UK) but when I got there it said Kingdom Hearts 1.5:Standard Edition. If I pre-order the Standard Edition when it’s released am I automatically upgraded to the Limited Edition version?
