"Games that I’m not at liberty to divulge... yet."

Xbox One will be at PAX Prime in Seattle this weekend. Among both first- and third-party launch titles like Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Battlefield 4, Microsoft will also have “other surprises,” the company’s Major Nelson teased, “including games that I’m not at liberty to divulge… yet.”

If you’re in Seattle this weekend and attending the show, find more details on Microsoft’s playable PAX Prime lineup, including the Halo 4 Global Championship, here.

Hype! I hope it’s a release date of November 8th and more game announcements!!! I assume halo 5 since the halo 4 tournament…maybe

  • shogunknight

Release date announcement confir—, oh. He said games :(

    • syaznifaiq

i got the feeling that they gonna announce the release date at TGS …

      • shogunknight

Haha, that would be funny. Announcing release date of American/European X1 in Tokyo

        • syaznifaiq

its microsoft we talking about, i mean, they tend to making stupid and ridiculous decision .. . like xboxone still be able to operate without kinect but still include kinect in the box ….wtf lol

          • shogunknight

Well, they did say the kinect 2.0 is part of the xbox one so it has to be bundled no matter what. PAX Prime may actually give release date details. If not, then probably another conference. But TGS, not likely

      • Solomon_Kano

That’d be really weird since they aren’t launching in Japan this year.

        • syaznifaiq

yeah but if i not mistaken TGS is the only place now which have big media coverage to announce big news such as release date ..

          • Solomon_Kano

Fair point. They kinda missed out on announcing it at any of the year’s other big events, so that’s the only one left.

I suppose they could do something different and reveal it on like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon or something lol.

          • DrForbidden

They’re not likely to be announcing it at TGS. Japan doesn’t really care. What they might do is to announce the news in the US and Europe while TGS is running…

  • Solomon_Kano

Woah, I didn’t realize PAX was upon us already.

I can’t imagine whatever they announce being for the near future, since it’d be really late to announce another launch title. Though, with the way Nelson worded it, it’s entirely possible that we’ll just be seeing more of a previously announced title and they simply aren’t telling us it’ll be at PAX yet. I’d certainly like to see how Quantum Break and D4 are turning out, so that’d be nice. Doubtful, but nice.

  • fixmanfoxman

its definitely crackdown 3 , they teased it long time ago.

    • SuperLuigi

That would be cool if they go big budget and hopefully not mutant enemies this time.

    • Solomon_Kano

That’d be great. Wonder who they’d enlist to develop it though? Ruffian’s done nothing of note since Crackdown 2, so I doubt they’d be called back.

    • McPoo

      Ooh I hope so!

      • Keegs79

        I hope not. seriously.

  • bloodiOS

So… they’ll finally be showing in-game footage of the new Halo?

  • Warboss Aohd

    dis outta be interesting.

  • KnifeAndFork

    Not interested

    • DrForbidden

You don’t need to go through the effort of posting to announce your non-interest, you know…

  • captainhowdy

I wonder what the games are.

PLEASE be Phantom Dust. I miss that game so much. Just imagine that kind of game on a next gen system.

I know MS still owns the right to the IP, but I don’t see them ever doing anything with it. And if they did, they’d probably pass it off to some second rate Western dev. I wish Futasugi could somehow get the rights back and do a proper sequel.

Also, I wish the servers were still up. =/

      • captainhowdy

I couldn’t agree with you more. It sucks the servers are down, and Microsoft has never said anything about it either (meaning they probably aren’t interested).

I had so many good memories with that game. I remember playing online, one guy was shooting a fireball at me and he was on a bridge, I then called down meteor and collapsed the bridge on him, than finished him off with my psycho blade :). I really thought the 360 and PS3 would have games like that.

        • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

We used to system link 4 Xboxes in one room just to play PD together. Not many games can top the amount of fun we had. I always had a soft spot for Triple Lasers.

Even an XBLA re-release would be cool. At least have the game out there again. BUt what we really need is a Kickstarter to get the rights back to Futasugi.

          • captainhowdy

I agree with this, but the problem is he lives in Japan and kick starters don’t work there yet.

Also something as innovative and grand scheme as Phantom Dust will need a big publisher. That sequel will have destructible environments, huge land, 3D detail world, probably lots of players running around.

He said recently after Crimson Dragon, he would like to do Phantom Dust sequel.

  • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

A Kinect-less SKU is all I want. Just make that a reality sometime before I buy one around mid-2014 and I’ll be happy. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy my PS4.

    • Invisbin

Unfortunately they confirmed that they wouldn’t do that :(

      • Prof. Bananas Goldsteinberg

Yeah, I know, but just let me have my dreams! I mean, I’ll wrap that thing up and toss it in the closet never to be used if I have to. But I’d rather just not have to own one at all. =/
