So Yakuza 1&2 HD Wii U didn’t even chart, as expected from news earlier (tsutaya charts).
Wii U is really drowning, Ninty needs to do something fast.

    • Elvick

Well, I’m sure they all would rather have it/already have it on PS3… where all the other main games in the series are. I know I would… SEGA D:<

      • SuperLuigi

I know right? We aren’t getting this on any system in the west :-(

    • SuperLuigi

If you expected a port of a port to sell wii u consoles you are crazy. Only thing that will make it sell is huge first party games. By the end of 2014 after mario 3d world, wind waker, dk, mario kart, super smash, and X have come out and if the wii u is doing bad…then the wii u is a huge failure.

      • Dede Ogbe

dude ur forgetting huge games have already been released on the WiiU. Pikmin was released a couple of weeks ago and that hasn’t helped the situation much. Hell even Dragon Quest which is a system seller in japan did nothing. It’s becoming a very dire situation indeed. Nintendo messed up thinking that this will sell on brand name alone and not properly planning the release of first party games.

        • SuperLuigi

If you are one of those that believe Nintendo is in huge trouble you are crazy. Nintendo is making profit mainly off 3ds and pikmin has never been a system seller. Dragon quest did bad because it turned into an mmo. Just wait for winter this year for japan. Idk how well America will buy it, but japan is gonna love the wii u by December.

          • Dede Ogbe

Dude, i never said Nintendo is in trouble. I said the WiiU is in trouble. And even with those games out how r u sure that will do anything to the sales considering the PS4 and Xbox One are being released at the end of this year??? Again Nintendo has seriously messed up in their planning, with the extreme lack of compelling games to make the WiiU stand out against it’s competition. Can’t even hold it’s own against current gen, What makes you so sure that it will hold it’s own against next gen by the time it’s released? what games would make it stand out?? More Ports?

            • SuperLuigi

Smash and mario is all Nintendo really needs to sell. I really don’t think japan is gonna jump on the “next gen” bandwagon unless something at tokyo gameshow is announced. I really doubt they are excited when all the confirmed launch titles for both systems are shooters, sports, and only one platformer. But idk honestly whats going to happen. Everyone thought the vita would kill the 3ds since itws way more powerful and 3ds wasn’t selling well. Just don’t count the Wii U out. I’m not 100% happy with mine although I enjoy pikmin 3.

              • Dede Ogbe

yeah am not man. My point is that u can’t send a brand new console out without solid schedule of first party games to support it. It’s a death sentence. The Vita is testament to that fact. It had a great launch line up, (probably one of the best i’ve seen for a console launch) but there wasn’t anything to keep it relevant in the public eye after that. It wasn’t until this year it got back on it’s feet and even then the damage is done. Because despite it’s sales the Vita will never over take the 3ds. It’s too late. It’s a similar situation here.sure Mario, Zelda and SB will sell the WiiU, but not having compelling games to support this year was a big mistake on their part. Your right though, we shouldn’t write it off just yet. But time is ticking and Sony isn’t gonna sit around and wait for Nintendo to release the games it needs.

                • SuperLuigi

I do agree how Nintendo launched 3ds and wii u is bullcrap. Vita too. This year they seemed to focus on 3ds only which was weird but I really believe they said next year we will care about wii u. I just think this fall will be a “relaunch” of the wii u and hopefully a 50.00 price drop on the deluxe wii u. It worked for 3ds. And just to clarify I do support playstation with owning a vita and a ps3 with tons of platinum trophies. I will get a ps4 someday.

                  • Dede Ogbe

Same i am a strong believer of collecting all consoles. I have a 3ds, plan on getting a wiiu for SMT X Fire Emblem and X

              • KnifeAndFork

For now Wii U is dead.

Nice pickup on those Vita sales though

              • miyamoto

“Sales figures isn’t everything” for those that sell well and those that doesn’t.

What matters is if you enjoyed your game.

            • Willgaea

Iwata did basically say that the Wii U is lacking software to push the Wii U. I personally think it’s because the name, and no Pokemon.

              • HeatPhoenix

Pokemon never sold consoles, it sells handhelds.

                • Willgaea

Snap and stadium sold pretty well. Imagine a real pokemon game.

          • Willgaea

Yeah I never really liked Pikmin.

        • $29082171

Pikmin is by no means huge, much less a port of a Wii Dragon Quest that was hated by the japanese because it was a MMO.

      • Willgaea

I can agree with Kart, Smash, and X. They others are okay titles but I wouldn’t consider them console sellers.

  • Xenovelgr

Dragon’s Crown’s combined sales are pretty good

    • SuperLuigi

I’m glad they are doing well for a new ip. This industry needs more beat em ups and new ips.

  • TheBlackRabbit

The witch and the hundred knights…..Q.Q…more please.

  • Nanashrew

Well, yakuza HD was already released on PS3 a good while a go so most everyone probably had it already. But the west still craves some Yakuza HD and neither the PS3 or Wii U version have come here. I’m sure Nintendo could build something here in the west for the game because there is already a big portion of fans just salivating for a Yakuza title and Sony has had their chance already.

    • KnifeAndFork

uh Sega can still localize Yakuza games for Sony including that

      • Nanashrew

So far they have shown no interest in doing so. It’s been a year since it was released on PS3 and i don’t think Xseed has shown any interest as well.

        • KnifeAndFork

What would XSeed have to do with it. Sega would publish it themselves. If they don’t care to localize Yakuza then that’s on all fronts including the abysmmal Wii U market…at least with the PS3 there’s a definite fanbase already established.

What Sega sucks at is their marketing..

          • Nanashrew

Sega has shown a lack of interest in localizing a few things lately and some due to money constraints like PSO2. It’s coming out almost everywhere but the US and EU, it’s been moved into the TBA territory. Sega isn’t even localizing it for the other parts of asia, a different party is. I think Yakuza is largely money constraints as well due to the heavy text and dialogue, etc. to translate and be redone.

            • Elvick

Sega would have to actually allow someone else to bring out their games.

Namco Bandai refuses to lend out Tales to any willing publisher. So it’s either them, or not at all.

I’d imagine Sega is the same way. I can’t think of any Sega games that were localized by a 3rd party.

And money constraints don’t really apply to Yakuza HD collection. It’s already translated on PS2.

I don’t know about others, but I was waiting to buy into Yakuza. Waiting in hopes of the HD Collection, and now we won’t see it.

Seems foolish. It’d be a good place to start. Then put up 3, 4 and that spin-off on PSN. Then bring over 5 depending on how all that goes.

  • KnifeAndFork

Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life

Why isn’t this localized? It’s Disney for cryin out loud…
