Namco Bandai announced Soulcalibur II HD Online during its “Future of Fighting Games” panel at Comic-Con in San Diego.
Coming digitally to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall, the upgrade will include every mode from the original game. A trailer showed Tekken fighter Heihachi, who was exclusive to the PS2 version of Soulcalibur II. The Xbox version of the game featured Spawn as an exclusive character, and the GameCube version The Legend of Zelda‘s Link. Link won’t reappear as he is property of Nintendo, but Namco Bandai issued a ‘no comment’ on Spawn’s return.
In related news, it was announced that Soulcalibur lead programmer Masaaki Hoshino has been promoted to the producer of the series.
