Grand Theft Auto V will require a mandatory installation on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Rockstar Games confirmed in a new ‘Asked & Answered’ post.
The PlayStation 3 version will come on one disc and require 8 gigabytes of free space. It will install upon initial startup.
The Xbox 360 version will come on two discs. The first disc will be used for the game’s installation, and the second disc to play it afterward. You’ll need 8 gigabytes of free space either on a hard-drive or a USB 2.0 16 gigabyte flash drive with a minimum of 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use.
Rockstar promises the “same great gameplay experience” on both platforms, and expects any visual differences to be “completely negligible.”
The studio also teased the incoming reveal of Grand Theft Auto V‘s multiplayer component.
“Expect to hear some first details soon,” Rockstar said, “it’s called Grand Theft Auto Online and we’re very excited to unveil it for you sometime this summer.”
It also teased incoming gameplay footage.
“Soon (or in September if you don’t want to see it before you play it… it’s up to you) – the first official gameplay video is on its way…”
Finally, Rockstar said it doesn’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or PC release “at this time” and are “completely focused” on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.
