Batman: Arkham Origins will feature a full-fledged multiplayer component developed by Brink and Dirty Bomb studio Splash Damage, Warner Bros. has announced.
The online mode, which won’t be available in the Wii U version, will blend the game’s traditional Arkham gameplay with third-person shooter mechanics. Players will hunt as Batman or Robin against other players online, or take on the role of a super villain elite and side with The Joker or Bane. You’ll even get to play as The Joker or Bane themselves.
The PlayStation Blog has a full report on the mode, which is called “Invisible Predator Online.” Eight players can participate, consisting of three Joker thugs, three Bane thugs, and two heroes in the form of Batman and Robin. The thugs’ goal is to wipe out the other team and capture control points, while the heroes’ goal is the prowl the area, intimidate enemies, and provoke gang leaders into calling off their operation.
