Current-gen versions to ship alongside next-gen versions.

Thief, Eidos Montreal’s stealth FPS reboot previously announced for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, will also come to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the developer has confirmed.

The current-gen versions of the game will ship simultaneously alongside the next-gen and PC versions in 2014.

“While the visual quality that PCs and next-generation consoles are capable of is obviously impressive, it’s important to know that Thief’s core gameplay experience will be the same across all platforms,” Eidos Montreal community manager Adam Badke said in a blog post.

“The development team wanted to take special care to ensure their vision for the game was achievable on the current generation of machines, so it’s especially exciting to be able to finally announce to our fans around the world that they are able to achieve this goal.”

so yes the games are going to look good on next gen-consoles but looking good does nothing to gameplay thank you Eidos Montreal <3

Well, I’m sure the PS4 version will run more stably than the PS3 version. Better draw distance, resolution, and lighting may also aid the player. Next gen is undoubtedly the way to play if you can, but it’s good to know last gen players aren’t getting anything cut. I’m impressed!

Nice! Been wanting to play this series. Will get it for either PS3 or 360 as the next gen consoles are something I will not be getting any time soon.
