The Last of Us multiplayer previews, screenshots
Factions: survival-based multiplayer across 12 maps.Sony and Naughty Dog have unveiled The Last of Us‘ online multiplayer mode through new media previews and screenshots.
Multiplayer is called “Factions,” and allows players to customize their character with various hats, masks, helmets, and gestures, design their emblem, and set their loadouts and bolt-on skills. Those are skills like “Covert Training 2,” which lets you crouch-walk without showing up on an opponent’s Listen Mode tracking, or one that lets you craft items in half the time it would normally take.
The goal of multiplayer is to survive 12 weeks, with each match representing a day. You’ll play as one of two clans across two game types and seven maps.
The first game type is called “Supply Raid,” and sees players scavenging for supplies with a 20-life limit. Anything you craft or buy, however, is carried over if you die. The second game type, “Survivors,” consists of seven rounds with one life per round. Both game modes allow up to eight players, with four on each team.
