Two teams. Two modes. Two perspectives.

Ubisoft has released a trailer detailing Splinter Cell: Blacklist’s ‘Spies vs. Mercs’ multiplayer component.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the mode will have two main variations: classic two-versus-two and a brand new four-versus-four mode.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in North America on August 20, and on August 23 in Europe.

Shame Mercs is played in first person. I’d have preferred if you could alternate between first/third for both sides.

That’d take away from one of the advantages Spies have over Mercs though. I think the fact Spies are 3rd person and Mercs are 1st is quite important.

I have no doubt that it’s important, I’m just not a fan of it as I’m not big on first person view (except for moments where it’s immediately useful).

Oh ok, fair enough. Personally I really like the fact that the Mercs are first person. Hearing Spies scuttling through the air ducts and catching glimpses of them in the shadows is a lot more tense when you’re in first person!

Similarly, being the Spy in the shadows is a lot more fun in third person.

It was amazing, particularly in Chaos Theory. Such a great concept.

As much as i loved Chaos Theory, Conviction pretty much killed the series for me and this game seems to building upon what i hated.
