Mexico and Latin America launch set for November.

Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers

Following yesterday’s trailer announcement, Namco Bandai has officially confirmed Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers will launch for PlayStation 3 this November in Mexico and the rest of Latin America with localized subtitles in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. The game will also launch in Europe this fall.

Developed by Dimps, the game will feature playable characters from the Sanctuary, Poseidon, and Hades arcs of the Saint Seiya universe, and take on the series’ most vile villains in one-on-one bouts set within the storylines of the anime series. Players will be able to execute combos and special moves from the TV show, and can enhance their character’s HP, strength levels, and Cosmos Power Gauge as they progress through the game. It will also have online versus and ranking modes.

Hope the US gets it, too, though the chances seem kind of low.

You could always import the EU version, if you’re so inclined :) The game is looking gorgeous, so that’s what I’d do.

I find it funny that they announced this at the same time as a new DBZ game and this is the one Dimps is doing. Not that I mind Artdink handling DBZ, just that if I had to guess who was doing what, that would’ve been where I expected to see Dimps.

Well, let’s see how they go about Seiya.

  • Nice Boat

I wonder if Seiya will be delighted with Hades’ “beautiful eyes” just like in the OVAs.

  • TetsuyaHikari

Bleeeeeeeh… So it really is one-on-one stuff and that’s it? Pass. As much as I love Saint Seiya, that sounds incredibly boring, especially after the premise of Saint Seiya Senki which only needed more story arcs to be even better.

I doubt this game will even be taken seriously for VS/Online stuff, so I think I’ll just stick with Jojo coming out in August, thanks.

    • KnifeAndFork

How often in the show did the Saint Seiya team fight hordes of enemies anyway? It was mostly one on one.

The Dimps produced DW style game was fun but heavily flawed. Much of it felt like they borrowed/recycled stuff from the Dimps PS2 games. Bandai really should have just let Tecmo Koei make it if they wanted to go that route.

      • Nice Boat

Actually in most big fights just like Poseidon, Thanatos, Hades, and Shion, the Saints forgot about honor and joined forces

      • TetsuyaHikari

Oh and the PS2 fighting games weren’t heavily flawed?

        Lololol okay

    • PrinceHeir

      ehh why you pass :

come on now! try it since it’s the same vein as JoJo :)

      • TetsuyaHikari

.hack/Versus was also a nice idea, but it was broken and hardly able to be taken seriously. I imagine this won’t be much different. It’s hardly in the same league as Jojo.

        • Budgiecat

          That tears it!

          • TetsuyaHikari

So yeah, I’m totally just going to be Shun now and use mah chains. DENIED!

(I’m a Hyoga fan, but I certainly couldn’t go into that scenario as Hyoga >_>)

  • xMCXx

The fighting system looks similar to Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm’s.

  • bloodiOS

I’ll be importing the EU version then.

  • Ziggy

Looks very similar to Sanctuary Battle, they seem to be using the same animation with a different, more anime looking skin for the characters.

And why no Asgard??? There were awesome characters in that Saga that would be awesome to play as.

    • Bec66

Because it’s an anime exclusive arc, thus considered non-canon.

  • Zharkiel

Now that I’ve paid more closer attention to the trailer, there’s indeed a lot of recycling from Battle Sanctuary. Hyoga and Shiryu are either at Escorpio or Capricorn, Ikki and Shun are fighting at the Pisces house. and Seiya and Saga are doing it at the Gemini house. Only the models seem to have been updated, they resemble the ones they used for that Omega fighting game.

Still sore about the loss of the Musou sections, but if the fights play the same as they did in Battle Sanctuary, it should be fun. Loved that game, it made the Golds feel freaking scary. Shaka was such a cheap bastard, haha.

Are there lots of saint seiya fans here?

Check my saint seiya fan story

About the game, it doesn’t have asgard because it’s not canon

would like characters from Saint Seiya – Next Dimension, but that’s
impossible, cause next dimension doesn’t have an anime yet :(
