"We won't keep you waiting too long," teases Yamauchi.

A PlayStation 4 version of Gran Turismo 6 will likely appear, according to series creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

Speaking with at E3, Yamauchi said, “I think a PlayStation 4 version will appear naturally.”

He teased, “We won’t keep you waiting too long, but it won’t be too soon either.”

Yamauchi’s thoughts on the new console? “Basically I think it’s a good neutral machine,” he said. “It’s balanced hardware with no quirks, so it’s just about how to make the software.”

Gran Turismo 6 is set for a PlayStation 3 release later this year.

Now all we need is Shenmue III and a proper Godzilla game

Lol never thought about a next gen godzilla game. I would love to play as mecha or space godzilla!

I’m looking forward to how this will turn out. I wonder how long will it take… Will it come out around the same time as Forza Motorsport 6? Will it have a major upgrade? So many questions.

On a separate question, does anyone think that Gran Turismo 6 has way too many cars? I mean, really, is it necessary to have that many cars? I think anything past 1000 is way too much. How many of these will players actually use or care about anymore?

I couldnt reply to you in the MGS5 thread. Stupid Disqus.

Anyway, I dont wish you to change who you are or how you act. Our differences are what makes us individuals.

I find all the tech spec jibber jabber of what makes up a games graphics to be annoying which is what I expressed in my earlier comment. That said, I can see that you really enjoy that aspect of it and I can respect that and wont heckle you again for it.

On topic, the comment you have made in this thread is far more engaging and open for discussion so for that I applaud you ;)

I personally couldnt care less how many cars are in the game. I usually stick to 1 or 2 for a while before boredom sets in and I move on to another game.

See for a fighter the more characters the better, but for cars… I’m pretty sure they all go forward and backwards and whatnot.

Which is precisely why there are 1,200 in this game. They all basically do the same thing, so it’s no big shit to make 1,200 and scream, “WHOOO-HOOOO, OVER A THOUSAND CARS BRO!!!”

Of course, fans of GT and the racing simulation genre at large would argue that there are important, subtle variations in handling, suspension, etc. from car to car. Suffice it to say though that there’s no comparison between building a 1,200 car roster and a 1,200 character fighting roster (assuming you’re doing a good job).

        • KnifeAndFork

They record the engine sounds and test each cars mechanics and record its physics so its a pretty big deal. Even Konami’s Enthusia for PS2 did this.

          • BigDix

My point is those slight variations are only a “big deal” to gearheads (I mean, 1,200 different engine sounds? Come on now). From a design standpoint…there isn’t any. GT’s meat is nothing more than mathematical variables, variables Polyphony doesn’t even originate. They just take the data from the actual cars.

While some of that comes into play with the fighting genre, at the end of the day, for a studio to produce a fighting game with a 1,200 character roster designed and engineered to be truly diverse and varied would likely be a 20 year-minimum undertaking. So yeah, no comparison.

Physics are kinda of a big thing with handling and controls…

I just want some normal old cars back like my 1995 Eagle Talon I had from GT4 and 1992 Honda Accord station wagon from GT1. Plus it’d be nice to have a 1992 Plymouth Laser AWD turbo.

ye,I know what you mean,I owned every race on gt2 with my mitsubishi GT 300 twinturbro with around 1000hk,only thing car that was faster was the escudo pike peak, yes…the red one:p….

        • KnifeAndFork

Yeah 3000GT on GT1 along with R34 Nissan Skyline with max mods those were the days…

What sucks is I actually bought a 3000GT twinturbo stealth flat black color (used) once but I found out later it had rod knock so I had to sell it at a loss : (
Those cars are a bitch to fix…
