PlayStation 4 sequel the first inFAMOUS to include online play?

An official PlayStation 4 digital brochure, presumably handed out at E3 last week, hints at an online multiplayer mode for inFAMOUS: Second Son.

The inFAMOUS page in the brochure says the game supports one-player offline play, with “online players TBC.”

The pages for other offline games, like Knack, do not include listings for online player count, suggesting “online players TBC” is not standard mention for single-player games.

Sony has yet to announce a multiplayer mode for inFAMOUS: Second Son, which is due out on PlayStation 4 in Q1 2014. Previous games in the series have only offered a single-player mode.

Thanks, VideoGamer.

It might be like Infamous 2 with the, “make your own level” crap :-) That was online right?

    • Skerj

I’m hoping that feature returns, it made me play inFamous 2 more than I would have after completing it.

      • Nhiroz

It was fun for a bit, but got boring too quickly. They need to implement it a bit more better. Maybe make it more idiot friendly (for me) :-)

I suspect more games will have multiplayer implemented which, for folks who never had Plus, would serve as a mean to justify and also to entice them into subscribing for the membership.

I kinda hope its some kind of cooperative mode. I don’t think we see enough good cooperative based multiplayer modes. (My opinion.)

Seconding your opinion. I know Competitive multiplayer is a big thing these days but Co-Op multiplayer, be it 2P or even 4P (Oh god that’d be way too awesome in a game like inFamous), needs to be a thing. Just thinking about it makes me miss the 90’s =(

    • GhostNomad

Likewise. There’s plenty of other games that offer competitive multiplayer. A good co-op extends the life of a game by a hell of a lot, that’s for sure.

    • Sevyne

I hope so too. Give me some couch/split screen co-op too. Definitely not enough of that anymore, and playing online with friends just isn’t the same as playing on the same couch and yelling at each other/messing around.

    • Warboss Aohd

Co-Op would be kinda fun, i agree.

    • Mitch

Would be fun. Could simply put 4 characters, all have one of Delsin’s power?

  • new_tradition

I feel kind of dumb for asking, but what does “TBC” mean in this context? I only recognize it as “to be continued”, and I’m pretty sure that isn’t what they mean here, lol

      To be confirmed, I’d wager.

      • DrForbidden

Yes, in most marketing/advertising cases, ‘TBC’ stands for ‘To Be Confirmed’.

  • Zackasaur

I’m buying this day one regardless, but that could be cool!

  • Solomon_Kano

Oho? Now this could be interesting.

  • Gilgamesh2025

Nice! We need more games with proper multiplayer modes!

  • Impressionnant

Would be good if you could choose from an assortment of superpowers in the multi-player. Hopefully you can.

Stop putting MP into every game…

    • Gustavo Rosario

Why? It gives games longevity when done right (Take The Last of Us for example). I for one love MP…I don’t play it often but I like the idea of being able to team up with your friends or to fight others.

MP might be really fun for this game, I mean look at god of war’s multiplayer mode.
