*rubs hands together* Anyone else getting ready for the third weekend of the FFXIV beta?

    • AnimusVox

No, sadly. I Lack the internet but I got to play it at E3 and loved it.

      • new_tradition

Was it your first time playing FFXIV? The Beta was mine, and I’m surprised how much I ended up really enjoying it despite being an MMORPG n00b >3>

        • AnimusVox

Haha yeah that was my first time, and don’t worry I’m an MMORPG newb as well.

        • Budgiecat

I found it cumbersome clunky and confusing as with most MMOs

          • new_tradition

I did find it confusing at first, but I think I have the basics down. I just have trouble targeting sometimes. I feel badd. I got caught up in a FATE, and I was trying to heal someone, but I wasn’t able to target them, and they were so close to m. I phail ):

    • Skeletor

I am quite enjoying the beta!

My kid named my character. His name is Torf McGorfMcGorf. LoL

      • new_tradition

Haha, that’s cute. I named my character Era Emrys, mostly because I really enjoyed the BBC series “Merlin” xD

        • Skeletor

          Nice!

Thats in my Netflix queue. I’ll get around to it someday.

          • new_tradition

Personally for me, I ended up disliking most of the fifth and final season (so I like to pretend it doesn’t exist, lalala~). There are some points in the show where characters might act OOC, but I thought the acting was superb all around ^^

    • Revorse

I wanted to. But I can’t remember my Square logins and they claim my security answer to my question is wrong. So there’s nothing I can do.

      • new_tradition

I forgot my account as well, so I ended up just making a brand new SE account solely for the MMORPG.

Have you tried contacting the SE Support? They might be able to let you reset your login or something :/

        • Elvick

SE Support is useless. It’s convoluted and I never got a response when I asked about my account vanishing for no reason. (I even actively used my account on the forums)

SE Members is the biggest hassle ever.

          • Budgiecat

Same here. I actually had 2 accounts (didn’t even realize it), and the 2nd account upon login, it stated the email address wasn’t found while on my PC it said it was already registered wth….so yeah I had to make a new one

          • new_tradition

Whoa, that’s lame. I made my new account because I was impatient (and there’s no weekend support) at the time, but I guess it seems to have been the better move on my part :/

    • Kobracon

      Playing it right now XD

      • new_tradition

I wish I could say the same, lol. What lvl is your character at now?

        • Kobracon

lvl 12 Pugilist. Didn’t have that much time :/ but enjoyed the time I had!

    • Solomon_Kano

Yep. About to play it in a moment.

      • new_tradition

        What server did you choose?

        • Solomon_Kano

          I’m on Coeurl.

    • Charlottes Guardian

Most definitely! I’ve tried all the classes now, but I can’t pick a favorite to just play! @_@ So many choices. Which one is you’re favorite at the moment?

      • new_tradition

Whoa, kudos for getting into each job class already! I actually haven’t managed much time in the BETA the last two weekends, so I’ve done very little. I picked the Conjurer class since I wanted the healing ability asap, but I think I’ll just stick with it for now. I only got my character to lvl 10, lol.

        Aside: Ugh, I’m actually going to work now. Probably won’t get home ’til late. I hope I’ll get enough time to at least finish the story quests ;A;

  • OverlordZetta

Just booted up Muramasa Rebirth for the first time and I am thoroughly enjoying it so far! Making me all the more excited for Dragon’s Crown in August.

After this I’m thinking I might try out that Hotline Miami everyone’s been on about, and then see what’s good on the importing scene. Right now I’ve got Danball Senki W, Project Diva, and I’m planning on picking up Senran Kagura and Gundam Seed Battle Destiny. Anything else on the Vita that’s good for those that are Japanese-impaired? I’ve got no problems with trial and error if need be.

    • Elvick

Hotline Miami is pretty hard, for me at least, but it’s intriguing. So I keep trying.

      • OverlordZetta

Does it start off that way, or does it work you into the difficulty?

        • Elvick

It’s doable early on. Still need to pay attention though. I started to have issues around stage 3 or 4.

  • Skeletor

MS is a cancer. That is all.

    • MrRobbyM

While I agree some of their policies and practices are terrible, don’t start a flame war. This isn’t 4chan.

      • AnimusVox

        THIS! IS! GEMATSU!!!

      • MosquitoLemon

Or Kotaku or Reddit or all of these other horrible things I hear about from people who I’m surprised leave their houses.

        • MrRobbyM

          LOLtaku.

      • LordKaiser

I hope this community don’t turn to the worse.

  • Karysonson

If anyone ever wanted to import from japan with the lowest price instead of the mark up you can use this forwarding site called tenso.

its like a address but in japan that can ship anything from e-capcom, e-square enix, amazon.co.jp and more.

    http://www.tenso.com/en/

and the place that adcepts foreign credit cards

    http://www.amazon.co.jp/

other places you can use the tenso buying service where they buy it for you.
    well hope this helps.
    :D

    • Skerj

Whoaaa this is going to come in handy, thanks man.

      • Karysonson

        no problem

    • AnimusVox

      Cheers my friend.

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

      Thanks!

      • Karysonson

haha no problem also using the buying service you could get stuff like the final fantasy xiii ultimate box

    • MosquitoLemon

Yes, tensou is awesome, that’s where we get our manga and stuff from.

edit – I mean that’s how we get it shipped

    • Solomon_Kano

This is going to be extremely useful in the near future, since Squenix said the Drakengard LE is only from their shop. Thanks!

    • http://gematsu.com/author/ro-kurorai 浪黒雷 (Roland Gmyrek)

Thanks, I also recommend http://www.nippon-yasan.com/lang-en/ for games/Anime/figures and other goodies.

Their prices are a little over amazon’s (jp), roughly 400-500 yen and amazon usually offers games at a 2000yen discount on the SRP.

never had any issues with them, even imported the LE Miku Vita via FedEx (best for hardware with internal batteries).
they even stock games that are sold out everywhere else, albeit at a premium. Usually u also receive all the (non-retailer specific) pre-order bonuses. They are my shop of choice for Japanese media.

Never tried a forwarding service but as amazon doesn’t deliver games outside Japan I might give it a try, thanks for the heads-up.

    • PrinceHeir

awesome, but i would like to know how this works?

like are they gonna make me a japanese address and they’ll be shipping it from that address to my real address here or something?

      • Karysonson

it goes from the shop to your own address at their warehouse and then you pay tenso to ship it to your address

        • PrinceHeir

          ahh i see.

          is the shipping cost much>

          • Karysonson

shipping from japan is allways kinda expensive but to give you an estimate shipping a 3ds ll would cost around $20 and shipping a ps3 would cost around $60

  • bloodiOS

I really am loving the anime adaptation of Shingeki no Kyojin. I mean, seriously, I have always been very skeptical of anime adaptation since I usually find myself disappointed by the end result, but this… is truly good, it went far above my expectations, totally blew my mind away. On top of faithfully following the plot of the manga, there are also many dramatic close up, zoom-in, such and such that wasn’t originally in manga but by adding those in, on top of having excellent animation, really makes the important, critical scenes even more epic and much more memorable to behold. And the soundtracks, holy ****, I’ve never heard soundtracks that fit so well that it seems as though every part of every tune was specifically created just for those very moments, right down to the seconds. Seriously, if there was ever an adaptation that would do the original material justice, this one had definitely done that (and a whole lot more.) This series is, in my honest opinion, the best action anime of the year, I just hope that the second season won’t turn out to be a disappointment.

    • Nice Boat

I understand the manga is still going on. I guess the ending will have to be made up.

      • bloodiOS

Actually the anime, planned for 25 episodes, will only cover part of the manga (I have a pretty good idea where it’ll stop at) and the second season will probably be continued sometimes later, like Toaru Majutsu no Index and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun for example.

        • Nice Boat

As long as they don’t do something really dumb like in Gantz (although its manga ending was pretty mediocre) I’m okay with it.

    • Kobracon

Yeah it’s pretty damn good. And when the animation can make an effing SALUTE look epic (gj Armin), you know the animation is something special

    • Solomon_Kano

And the soundtracks, holy ****, I’ve never heard soundtracks that fit so well that it seems as though every part of every tune was specifically created just for those very moments, right down to the seconds.

      Dat Sawano.

      • Tetsu

        OH it’s Hiroyuki Sawano??

        • Solomon_Kano

          Yep!

          • Tetsu

He’s on top of his game, I love me some Sawano.
I can’t wait to hear his work on Monolith Soft’s X!

            • Solomon_Kano

Yea, Sawano doesn’t disappoint. I still watch the first trailer for X just to hear that epic piece again.

    • Budgiecat

Its the only Anime series Im watching this season. I kinda dropped Saint Seiya Omega after the first major arc was done. And everything else thats out is too moe

  • BlackArmZephyr

I dont like this Shingeki no Kyojin everybody say its sooo cool and fascinating but its just lame and i was very dissepointed. Ok one of the walls have the same Name like me Sina but that will not change my opinion.

    • Budgiecat

It’s not lame. What else is out now? Date A Live? Gimme a break

  • DesmaX

Decided to get back to Soul Nomad… And finally got past some boss I got struck and made me Rage Quit.

Oh well, still my favorite NIS game

    • bloodiOS

I should probably get back to it sometimes, too. I had the game several years ago and really love the music but I was much younger then, much more impatient, and had much less self-control (I remember yanking off the analog stick…)

    Open forum #50!

I’m so glad the open forum made it this far. It wouldn’t have without all of you, posting comments, having interesting discussions, etc.

Let’s keep this going. Here’s to everyone who posts in the open forum. Cheers!~

    • bloodiOS

Say, I’m just curious but how long has Gematsu officially been around (as Gematsu, not SCRAWLfx or anything else)?

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I think since May 2011. Sal would be able to answer that question definitively. ^^

        • bloodiOS

I hope Sal doesn’t plan on changing the name of the site again (at least not until it reaches its tenth anniversary), since I really grew attached to it at this point.

          • Azuardo

‘Again?’ What was it called before?

            • Kobracon

It was called Scrawlfx. It was also blue.

          • http://gematsu.com/author/ro-kurorai 浪黒雷 (Roland Gmyrek)

I concur, fuckin| love the current name. Gematsu rocks =)

    • Karysonson

      ;3

    • http://gematsu.com/author/ro-kurorai 浪黒雷 (Roland Gmyrek)

This community rocks and I don’t need any other site for my Japanese gaming fix!

  • Azuardo

Having a bit of a case of gamer’s block right now! Feels like I haven’t touched a game in ages.

Went to London on Tuesday to Nintendo’s post-E3 event, and got to spend time with a lot of games – Zelda 3DS, Zelda WW, DKC Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World, Yoshi’s New Island, Bayo 2, Sonic Lost World, and more. Really fun day.

I’ve also been addicted to Hell’s Kitchen USA, and caught up on every episode of the current season. I was originally watching them as they aired in the UK, but realised they’re already on YouTube lol (although sadly, censored the swearing). Dunno if anyone else watches it here, but I hope Jon wins. It’s gotta be either him or Ja’nel.

  • Charlottes Guardian

Sooo…. Does anyone else ever just wake up and feel like,

    “AHHHHHH THE WITCHER 3 AHHHHHH”

I mean, I can’t be the only one, right?

    • Skerj

I feel that way for Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Citizen.

  • Kobracon

I got in the FFXIV Beta!! Wheeee! It’s pretty good so far. Had no idea which server to pick so I went with Gilgamesh because….well, Gilgamesh :P

Picked a pugilist and am enjoying punching things so far. Plus having the classic FF fanfare as the level up sound has gotta be the best damn motivator I have ever heard. Feels so good to level up with that fanfare XD

    • Charlottes Guardian

Awesome! I have seven characters on the leviathin Server, and 1 I just started today on the Gilgamesh xD That fanfare is definitely too good.

  • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owltron

I’m considering of getting a Game Gear and Sonic Chaos. As much as I like the rest of the Sonic Game Gear series…

It really irks me that Sonic Chaos is under looked. I actually fell in love with that game in 1999 long ago.

Oh well…I really enjoy going to this site. I may not comment much here but I’ll try to make an effort to do so…in time.

    • AnimusVox

That’s like the only game I played for my game gear.

      • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owltron

I did also played Sonic Spinball on the Game Gear as well. It was much easier compared the Genesis ver.

Still the music was as good as anything. I miss the days of those two titles.

    • Budgiecat

Sonic Game Gear game is on 3DS now

  • AnimusVox

Could someone recommend a funny or comical type of anime or manga series to me? I might be going to AX next Thursday in L.A. and I want to look around for something new.
I havent watched anime in awhile. I needz my fix.

    • Martian Wong

Soul eater? Dont know you watched it or not….

      • AnimusVox

        I did watch that, but I wasn’t a fan.

    • LordKaiser

Try Kamen no Maid Guy, Kemeko Deluxe! and FLCL (also known as Furi Kuri). There’s others but IDR.

      • Tetsu

Kamen no Maid Guy was pretty funny. FLCL is super classic.
Havn’t seen Kemoko Deluxe! though, but judging on your recommendations, it’s probably pretty good :)

    • Solomon_Kano

Hataraku Maou-sama and Shirokuma Cafe are pretty hilarious.

    • Tetsu

Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu (fantastic classic)
Beelzebub (new, kinda like Cromartie High)
Astro Fighter SunRed (makes fun of villains, funny take on comics)
Detroid Metal City (hardcore, but funny if you like crazy stuff)

    • Sae-Won Yoon

Nichijou might be up your alley.

      it’s about 50-60 episodes worth.
as well as a fun manga.

Daily Lives of High School Boys is also a good recommendation.

    • z_merquise

Onepunch Man if you want a fun action/comedy superhero manga.

    • Budgiecat

      Golden Boy

    • zangetsukakashi

wait… no one mentioned gintama, or u seen it already?

      • AnimusVox

No, I’ve heard of that one though. Basically, the only comical anime I’ve seen so far is ‘Azumanga Daioh’, I know.

        • zangetsukakashi

oh, ok. i see. Gintama is a long-running shounen comedy. Many would ignore it with the first episodes, as the first episodes aren’t that funny to some, but then gets better and better with each episode. i’ve seen many comedy anime, but this one is my all time fav.

    • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I haven’t watch many of the new shows. One of my favorite comedy anime series is Seto no Hanayome. It’s kinda old now, so you might have seen it already.

  • Martian Wong

Can anyone share a FFXIV beta code for PS3 with me? I wanted to enter the beta…but not so lucky…

  • MosquitoLemon

So I’ve run through Sengoku Basara 3 with 5 characters now, and have two more stages for my 6th. I can’t make any serious impressions until I’ve finished it with everyone, but for right now:

+Characters are very diverse, maybe even more-so than SB2.
+The story mode is integrated into unification mode, as it was in SB1, multiple routs for each character mean multiple endings? Lots of different events.
+Special moves are even more technical than in SB2

-A number of stages feel even longer than SB2… almost KOEI Warrior’s length… and short stages were why I loved SB2
-Items are now attached to weapons and require mat hunting and grinding… it’s kind of interesting for a few plays, but doesn’t lend to the freedom the other games had
-The stream of enemies that come out when you take over a checkpoint is just pointless combo bait, removes the fun of searching for good combo opportunities (which still exist, but now they are a focus of the game rather than something extra)

My second character was Ieyasu because his gauntlets looked so badass… and they are, he’s super fun to play… but THEN I played as Kanbei. He is crazy slow, but my god, it’s so cool how they designed the character. I will definitely be revisiting the two of them on subsequent playthroughs.

    • Kobracon

Love Kanbei. His Moving+Triangle is so awesome to use. Especially when you hold it.

      • MosquitoLemon

Yeah, the recovery on that move is crazy, it’s literally like 2 seconds shorter than all his other moves, unless you cancel them with a dodge/roll.

    • OverlordZetta

How are the personalities of the characters? I personally can’t go near Basara since everything is so inaccurate (and downright inflammatory in some cases, but as a rule I can’t stand super villainous portrayals of Nobunaga).

      • MosquitoLemon

If you are expecting anything even remotely representing history, your bowels will be quite inflamed. Though for what it’s worth, this is a different story from the original Sengoku Basara. It takes place after Hideyoshi’s death, and follows the struggle between Mitsunari and Tokugawa.

I haven’t even seen Nobunaga in the game yet, but he’s in the manual, so he definitely pops up somewhere.

        • Kobracon

There are a few hoops you have to jump through to get him, but I feel what they did to him is way worth it :3

          • MosquitoLemon

Sounds good to me, this game isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

      • Kobracon

Well….hes voiced by Norio Wakamoto so he is SUPER evil. I recommend staying away if that really irks you. If you want a nicer Nobunaga, I recommend Kessen 3 for the PS2.

      • MosquitoLemon

Oh and for what it’s worth, I love these games because they are good games. I watched about 10 minutes of the anime on netflix before deciding never to bother with it again, and I only pay attention to the story in passing. The only character I find with an interesting personality is Maeda Keiji, who is nothing like his historical counterpart.

  • AnimusVox

Er…I accidently upvoted myself. I’m not egotisitcal, so if you good folk see that it’s not what you think lol.

    • bloodiOS

Don’t worry it’s not possible to upvote yourself. It might appear that way at first but the vote won’t register.

      • AnimusVox

Oh *phew* I had that ‘What have I done?!’ ringing in my head. Thanks.

  • Tetsu

Picked up Project X Zone on Tuesday.

Only played maybe an hour so far. It’s pretty fun but definitely don’t have a full grasp on the game yet.

It plays almost identical to Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier.
It has the same kinda sprites, attacks, cut-ins, drawing style and systems.
It’s made by the same team, Monolith Soft, so it makes sense.
It’s pretty much Endless Frontier 3 but with different characters and a partner system.

I like these types of games, and wish more came out here (North America), so I would support it either way, but it seems to be pretty decent.

    • Budgiecat

I started it too but got preoccupied with The Last of Us and FF XIV beta (since someone on my PSN gave me a free beta code)

  • Tetsu

I posted in the newest Discussionist, but i was on Vacation when it was put up, so I’m not quite as current as I’d like to be.
But here was my response, it applies to most games, but mainly RPGs.
    ———————————————————————————————
I was very fortunate for my childhood to take place during the beginning of the SNES era. RPGs were both terrific and abundant.
Some of my best-ever memories started then, and continued on throughout the console generations.

RPGs are by far my favorite genre, I grew up on them.

There are many parts to an amazing RPG experience.
And I don’t think any one part by itself will define that greatness.

    – Music: They have to have great music. When I think back on memories
of great RPGs, my childhood, amazing experiences, I think of the music
and what songs defined what events, stories and experiences of my
nostalgic adventures in the game. I didn’t realize how much I liked
video-game music till I put PS1 games into my CD Player and listened to
the hidden tracks of games like MegaMan 8, Symphony of the Night and
others. When I got Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete for my birthday and
started playing it, I took the included soundtrack, put it in my
brother’s stereo, recorded it onto a tape, and would go on walks down
the road to listen to the music on my WalkMen. That’s when I realized,
this is the kind of music I like, this is me. I still listen to all my
favorite video-game music in my car to this day.

    – Cool Characters: When you see the art for a game, it’ll immediately
speak to you in some way. I’m sure most of you remember seeing Crono in a video-game magazine for the first time. OH MY GOD, he’s so cool,
look at his spiky red hair! and that sword! I MUST have this game!
That initial impact is what drives you to it. If you don’t get that WOW
factor from a first glance, it’s hard to have an initial connection.
Now it doesn’t have to be cool on that level either, it can be Unique.
Unique characters play an extremely integral role in defining a great game.
What makes them so different? Why do they do the things they do? I like the fact that the character acts so different. This character makes me want to relate to them, and get to know them.

    – Story: Great stories drive the game. Events that make you feel like
your there, part of the game, losing track of reality, wanting to save
the future of your companions and party members.
Stories that make you wish you were part of their world, that you could experience the things these characters experience or wish you could help them in some way. Or be friends with the characters. Great stories keep you there, guessing and wondering what will happen next?

    – Gameplay: Great RPGs haaaaaaave to have great gameplay. You have to be able to pick up the controller, start doing something and instantly
want to do more, just for the sake of doing more. Combat, exploring,
wandering through towns, just walking around should all be fun. It’s
your hand-held connection with the world, it’s your guide to the game,
it’s the core, the main driving experience in alot of cases. You need to have good game-play, simple as that.

    – World: This goes along with stories. You want to be interested in
the world that your about to spend the next 20-100+ hours in.
Beautiful worlds bring you back for more. I remember so many times wandering around games, and just looking at things, staring, taking it all in.
Wanting to be a part of a games world is a great sign of a good RPG.
    Art Style is very important.

    – Fun: People play games to have, they gotta be fun. Whatever it is
that you do, you have to enjoy yourself. I love to have fun, I love to
laugh. Good games make you feel like your having a fantastic time that you don’t want to leave for hours-on-end.

    – Coming Together: When these things come together in seamless
fashion, where there is no break in aesthetic, aural or hands-on
experience, you remember it. The game will stand out as a masterpiece,
it’ll be a part of your past, and you’ll want more from it in the
    future.

I’ve come to the point in my life where I can’t wait to share these
experiences with my kids, to show them how much a game can be, and how good it feels to level up for the first time, or hear victory fanfare
after a long and grueling boss battle, or how you care so much you cry,
and you get so angry you want to throw the controller, but ultimately
    you have great memories.

This is why I play games.

I posted there as well but received not response for posting late but I feel that secrets are missing from RPGs like when you find a invincible wall and find equipment and items on a secret room.

Saw Hot Shots Golf displayed during Sony’s E3 presentation. So anybody know any news of the PS3 Hot Shots Golf 6(world invitational) localization?

  • Charlie

Who’s still playing The Last of Us?

    • AnimusVox

I have. I beat it last week. I loved it, can’t wait to see what Naughty Dog brings to PS4.

    • bldudas

I am. I haven’t finished it yet. I am close to the end, though.

    • Budgiecat

Me. Well I took a break or FF XIV Beta since someone gave me the beta code. He also hates TloU so whenever he sees me playing it instead of FF XIV beta, he gets upset lol

  • Sae-Won Yoon

I bought FFTA2 on ebay the other week.

FIgured I’d rather get that than Cystal Defenders or any FF ios game for that matter.

Speaking of which I heard Yoichi Wada is now a Chairman at Square Enix, *despite* the fact he resigned as CEO.
I dunno about you guys, but I’m somewhat bothered by this.

    • Budgiecat

Japanese business doesn’t fire people. They just rearrange them within the company unless said person quits out of disgrace and honor, or jumps out a window, or commits Sedoku

A few days ago, i saw the new xperia z ultra online. What shocked me was that the chip was a snapdragon 800 clocked up to 2.2ghz quad core. Smartphones are turning to something else, gamewise you can now emulate from atari to ps2 (and wii if possible) on them and this wont stop anytime soon. Im not trying to say it should return to its call and recieve messages days (apps and widgets are a blessing in phone technology) but clocking a galaxy s4 at 1.9ghz quadcore and that z ultra at 2.2ghz quadcore…thats overkill. Well we get to see some great looking indies though (the new asphalt looks as good as split second for Gods sake) and the chips get cheaper (i think) but aside from that, i doubt theres any basic ios app or apk that really needs the utilization of the quad core feature. Maybe the OS of those brands need them but i dont think its something recent dual core chips cant also do

  • Elvick

Here’s a spiffy kickstarter you guys might be interested in. It’s already reached the funding goal and PS4/PS Vita and Wii U goals, but there’s airship battles to get to as well. And other neat things.

Anyway… got my copy of Epic Mickey 2 for PS Vita from Europe yesterday. Haven’t played any of it yet, but it’s in my Vita waiting for me. Mostly been playing Hotline Miami, I wish there were an ‘easy’ mode so I could just go through the story and be done with it. I’m mostly sticking it out to see what’s going on with the story.

    • OverlordZetta

Oh, you gotta report back on how that is! I liked the first Epic Mickey well enough, but I’ve been holding off on the sequel due to reviews being mostly poor. Still, a Vita game is a Vita game…

      • Elvick

Well, I’ve played the game on PS3 and I found it fun.

The Vita version has some framerate drops, fairly frequently. But it doesn’t really bother me. It looks really nice on Vita though, the cutscenes (CG and 2D) look great. And the ingame graphics all look really nice too.

The touch screen is pretty neat to use for painting, though it kind of stinks since it blocks your view. Would have been nice if they did rear touch as an option too. But it’s useful for environmental stuff.

The biggest issue with the game (in general) is Oswald’s AI. It’s so tedious to wait around for him to derp into position so you can do things. Why they didn’t just allow us to manually switch and control him is beyond me. That seems like it’d have been a no brainer. (on PS3, I’d just use my other controller to make it easier on myself… can’t do that with Vita, unless you have another Vita and another copy of the game)

The other issue I have is that some decisions you make “matter” and some don’t. And you don’t really know what will matter and what won’t until it’s too late (due to auto-save). You have to use thinner for some things. No matter what. So you’ll be used to using it to get some places, but then you’ll do some permanent damage to the town or whatever and you’re kind of shit out of luck. There’s no real way to tell which is going to end badly. Some of them have audio cues, but some don’t. :/

As much as I harped on inFamous for making it super obvious, I now know that is a better option than what EM2 provides. (been awhile since I played the first, I think it had the same problem)

But yeah, overall it’s not as terrible as it’s made out to be online. At least I don’t think so. Especially since it’s one of the only 3D platformers made ‘recently’… we get so few.

The game would have likely scored better had they just let you manually switch to Oswald.

  • Locksus

I’m still waiting for those few truly great games that would make me get a Vita, so I hope Gamescom will change that.
Already got a 3DS and I’m loving it very much at the moment. So many games I have to get, but Fire Emblem is especially good and I’d want Intelligent to make an Advance Wars game for it :p

    • Budgiecat

Yeah I still have yet to get a Vita. Soul Sacrifice looks interesting but then so does Toukiden, God Eater 2, Ragnorok Odyssey, Monster Hunter 4, etc. Just not that big a fan of those type of games to get a handheld for them.
For 3DS, I got Fire Emblem, Project X Zone, and now hoping Square-Enix comes to their senses and announces Dragon Quest VII remake localized.

      • OverlordZetta

        >MH4
        >Vita
        You what now?

        • Budgiecat

heh I threw that one in there to see if anyone was paying attention.

      • Locksus

        Interested in trading friend codes?;P

    • OverlordZetta

Vita’s got a few. I’d say Soul Sacrifice and P4G are must haves, but that’s not nearly enough to sell a system, I know. The region free certainly helps though – I got a good 50 hours out of Danball Senki, but that’s not for everyone.

What about the Vanillaware titles? Muramasa is fantastic and everyone’s looking forward to Dragons Crown.

    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Not that I want to start up some list wars or anything but depending on what you like, Vita owners tend to gravitate towards the following:

      -Persona 4 Golden
      -Gravity Rush
      -Soul Sacrifice
      -Uncharted Golden Abyss

Muramasa Rebirth seems to be another hit as the new translation and gameplay refinements make the game quite good to go over.

Then there’s Tearaway and Killzone: Mercenary later this fall to wrap it up, along with Hotline Miama and Dragon’s Crown in this summer. Just some titles to think about but without knowing your preferences or any further it’s hard to make much commentary.

I know for myself, eventually there stopped being a need for a few truly great games, as it build up many good games. Quantity or Quality I guess.

      • Locksus

Not really sure. Gravity Rush looks interesting to me, but I’ve never been a fan of Uncharted and I’ve played Hotline Miami and Persona 4 before so I don’t want to get the console just to play multiplats and ports.

        • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

That’s understandable, so Gravity Rush interests you. That’s a good first step. PS+ also helps a lot with the value proposition. What else interests you or what genres? Compiling a list of “original” Vita games isn’t that hard to do (even if a lot of the base do enjoy those multiplats/ports).If you get a chance, I think Gravity Rush might still be on the demo Vita stations.

          • Locksus

Thanks for the help :) To my understanding, there’s only one Vita demo station in the city where I live in and it has Uncharted and Rayman on it so I cannot try GR unless one of my friends decides to get the system and the game.
I generally like action/adventure or RPG games, but I’m pretty much open to any genre provided the game is good, of course.

            • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Have you seen Ys Celcetta =D? Tearaway should not only be right up your alley but the pushing edge. Oh and well there’s Little Big Planet too. I had to highlight that one because it’s made by Nihon Falcom whom I adore on the small Japanese scene. Alright let’s just get a list rolling to match your tastes and specification:

              Ys Memories of Celcetta
              Tearaway
              Little Big Planet PSVita
              Gravity Rush (of course)
              Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation
              DJ Max Technika Tune
              Dynasty Warriors Next
              Shinobido 2
              Soul Sacrifice
              Touch My Katamari
              Sumioni Demon Arts

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace (I know about the multiplatform thing but this was Vita only to start, so I think it’s reasonable)

Not mentioned are games coming next year or no confirmation yet of localization.

              • Locksus

Ooh, I forgot all about Ys. I’ve wanted to get into the series for a while but I’ve been to lazy as of late :p
I’m gonna do a little research on some of the games you just listed so thanks for that.

                • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Anytime! I mentioned it when you get your 3DS that I was in your situation. Just that I couldn’t be satisfied with the stock colours xD Lucking out with a 3G Vita at $200 is a steal so I know what you mean when you’re looking for those special titles.

                  • Locksus

Yeah. I was thinking that maybe I could ask a Vita for a birthday present as my birthday is on the 30th of July, so it’s pretty soon :P I wouldn’t have to spend all of my hard earned money.
I’ll have lots to play on 3DS, but more variety is never a bad thing, don’t you think?

                    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Variety is the spice of life! They both serve different niches too so you’ll be pleased. Last gen, I owned both handhelds; it’s why despite Xbox One and PS4 coming, Vita and 3DS are my primary focus.

                    • Locksus

I hear you! I just remembered that Sony announced Freedom Wars which looks something I’d want to have if/when I get a Vita. I also remembered that Monolith is cooking something up for 3DS and Bravely Default is coming later this year! Oh, and SMT IV and LoZ: A Link Between Worlds. Oh, and then I also have to get KI:U and AC:NL at some point.

                      My wallet is already crying.

                      ;_;

                    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

I was going to bring up Freedom Wars but wanted to focus on what was available, y’know? Japanese side has been getting some nice little announcements lately. Oh and warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. I can’t say it enough but currently I’m madly in love with Tecmo Koei (and Naughty Dog but that’s another topic).

                    • Locksus

Yeah, I understand. I think it’s just a wonderful time to own a handheld console. So many great games coming out.

                    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Makes me frustrated that I let the Animal Crossing 3DS XL slip by my fingers.

                    • Locksus

I never really liked the poptart look of it :p I bought a red XL instead.
I really would love if XL versions had more variety in colors.

                    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

If I could just get a Solid White one then we’d be good but that was my compromise (Plus it came with Animal Crossing, can’t be upset about that).

                    • Locksus

Yeah, an all-white version would be seriously awesome, but aren’t they only available in Japan?

  • http://gematsu.com/author/ro-kurorai 浪黒雷 (Roland Gmyrek)

I just started playing The Last of Us (18 hours, 44% progression) and I honestly can’t imagine what kind of games we will see on Sony’s (and MS’s) next gen hardware by their first party studios.

Storytelling and visuals are what ND excel at and if I can get TLOU’s pre-rendered cut scene quality visuals in real time running at 1080p60fps (I believe that engine can do it as it’s running at 720p30fps on PS3) my jaw will be on the floor. Same applies to SSM and their (presumably) next gen GOW game. Those Poseidon and Cronos battles still amaze me after so many years.

On another note: I just recently watched KID’s 5th PV and the background song captivated me. It’s 朧月 (Oboro-Zuki – lit: “hazy moon”) by ザ・ヒーナキャット (http://www.theheanacat.com)
Just wanted to post it in case somebody was interested in the title of the song and the band performing it.

    • OverlordZetta

“storytelling and visuals are what ND excel at”
This makes me sad as someone longing for a more Crash-like game from them. Story and visuals are nice and all, but when did games stop being games and turn into pseudo-movies?

      • http://gematsu.com/author/ro-kurorai 浪黒雷 (Roland Gmyrek)

As much as I’d love ND to return to their roots or offer us new IP I fear that they will keep churning out Uncharted games on PS4 (I’m expecting at least three entries, similar to PS3) and other “psesudo-movie[-like]” games. The series is too popular and TLOU was a critical and commercial success.

      • Elvick

They can have both. Which is why I’m looking forward to Knack. It’s like Crash, but with a story that interests me. I can’t even really remember what Crash is about.

I prefer having a story. It’s why Super Mario Sunshine is my favorite 3D Mario, even if the ending was stupid. (plus the gameplay is amazeballs) And Galaxy is 2nd. They had some story, and the Rosalina backstory was awesome.

I want to have a reason to continue to play. Yes, I like the fun of gameplay. But once that novelty wears off, and it does eventually, I want a reason to stick around or be pushed forward. A story and characters worth a damn, are a good reason.

But not ever game needs a story, and that’s fine, but Unit 13 would hold my attention more if it weren’t just a bunch of random missions that have nothing to do with anything and if I weren’t playing a bunch of characters with nothing to them.

        • AdamBoy64

I bought Super Mario Sunshine a while back, but haven’t played it yet.

I’ve heard it’s pretty difficult in parts? I hope so.

          • Elvick

It is, especially the areas without FLUDD.

    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

I’m trailing behind you as I got my package on Friday and played late night for a bit, then more this morning (didn’t even eat, just dived in). I’m 31% so far, should be near 50% after tonight’s session. The game is just perfection and it isn’t even over yet. It’s scarier than Resident Evil (despite not focusing on horror), with excellent music and audio design (just tipping over a chair accidentally is scary) and like you said story and visuals are just impressive. Survival Edition was well worth owning and I’m looking forward to getting the limited edition for Beyond this fall. If you’re a Sony fan, you owe it yourself to support their 1st party output, seriously <3

      • http://gematsu.com/author/ro-kurorai 浪黒雷 (Roland Gmyrek)

Beyond already pre-ordered as EU LE (steel-book). Sony’s 1st and 2nd party games are awesome, consequently I’m thrilled for PS4. Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Guerilla Games and Quantic Dream, heck, even That Game Company (an indie dev!) showed what’s possible on ancient hardware with 512MB of RAM. I can only dream what those guys will pull off on PS4.
Next gen will be extremely exciting, especially when Ninty deliver their heavy hitters. PS4, Vita and WiiU is all I need for the next 10 years to be a happy and satisfied gamer.

    • Budgiecat

To be honest, visually, Beyond is looking more impressive graphically than The Last of Us…

      • http://gematsu.com/author/ro-kurorai 浪黒雷 (Roland Gmyrek)

Well, to be frank Beyond is running at a much lower native resolution (1280×544 vs 1280×720) so I’d be shocked if it didn’t look at least as good. Unfortunately I can’t stand screen-tearing and it’s rampant in BEYOND. ’tis a bloody shame as it aims to be a highly cinematic game.
I’m still buying it because of QD and Ellen Page =)

        • bloodiOS

Maybe they should’ve considered having the game run at 20fps instead, given the nature of the gameplay. With a good combination of camera and object blur, along with other screen distortion effects, I think the game can look quite good at 20Hz as long the frame rate is constant and the screen-tear is not noticeable (what I’ve seen thus far is really distracting.)

          • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Wait why 20 and not 24fps? 24 is the standard for movies after all. A locked one wouldn’t be bad either depending on the execution.

            • bloodiOS

If the devs can somehow force it to run in 24Hz mode, sure, but since games run in 60Hz mode, I think a 3:3 pulldown would provide a smoother feel than 3:2. Beside, judging by the amount tearing I’ve seen in the previous gameplay videos, I’m not even sure running at 20fps would even guarantee that there won’t be any screen-tear…

          • http://gematsu.com/author/ro-kurorai 浪黒雷 (Roland Gmyrek)

That’s my biggest concern right now. Heavy Rain ran at 720p with minor screen-tearing. The tearing was not intrusive and did not impact the game-play perception. It performed smoothly when it mattered to boot. I only recall one scene (shotgun shot to a door) where the frame rate dipped but it was merely a QTE.

BEYOND seems to be running with an unlocked frame-rate that’s all over the place. It seems to be fluctuating between 30 and 15 fps and the screen-tearing is really annoying in such cinematic a game as BEYOND. Considering that it renders much lower internally than Heavy Rain I am shocked that performance is so worrisome. I don’t mind performance below 30fps. 20-25fps is still ok, especially in such a cinematic game, as long as image quality stays consistent.
I agree that locking it to 20 or 25fps would be desirable. Visual consistency is most important to me in a story-driven game.

  • OverlordZetta

At this point, there’s probably little to no hope of the Vita version of PSO2 coming over, right? I want to import it, but since I won’t be able to use my account for a second SEGA ID in the event the game DOES come over, I’m really hesitant. At the same time, if I hold out too long, the game’ll be dead and I will have missed out.

    What would you do, Gematsu?

    • Elvick

At this point I’d be surprised if they ever release the PC version.

      • OverlordZetta

It’s gotten that bad? Jeez Sega what are you doing?

        • Elvick

I only say that because they’ve said hardly anything since it’s announcement. Other than it being ‘delayed’ or ‘taking longer than expected’ or whatever it was.

        • LordKaiser

It’s WKC2 all over again with the difference that it’s SEGA of America instead of D3P.

    • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

PSO2 (At least the PC version) was at SEGA’s booth one year, uh last year I believe. It’ll happen, the Vita version though? Better start (or keep) tweeing Shahid =(

      • OverlordZetta

He…really doesn’t seem to care about games unless they’re indie though, does he?

        • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

That’s totally, TOTALLY false. Shahid loves all kinds of games. It’s probably just easier for him to sign an indie versus a bigger publisher (Notice Soul Saga is now PS4/PS Vita). However with the #jrpgvita push among other things, the next logical step would then be to get titles localized or ported before finally getting up to original experiences developed exclusively. I’ve already tweeted for Phantasy Star (the whole series not just PSO2), among others so we’re just waiting to see what happens but continued show of demand would really help change SEGA’s mind.

    • LordKaiser

The same reason why I moved on PSO2 in JP and I’m near Lv.50 on hunter and 46 on Fighter so the more my Lv. increase, the less I want to start all the way from Lv.1 and rigth now Episode 2 with the Braver class and Dewman race is coming.

This comment is about Final Fantasy 14 –

I wanted to give everyone in the open forum a bit of an update. I know that some of you have asked me about Final Fantasy XIV. What server I will be playing on, etc.

It’s not really been an easy decision for me…

The last time I played, I was in a leadership position in my linkshell. We had just made some serious steps towards end game in version 1.0. It’s a pretty long story, but my action resulted in me being asked to join leadership. This was a very tough decision for me. Leadership in an endgame group is much different than leadership in a more social focused group.

I have lots of experience with this. In fact, in every single mmorpg I’ve played since I started playing them. I’ve always been in a leadership position. It can be quite a bit of responsibility. For those unfamiliar with this, endgame leadership is very difficult. It’s often times terrible, stressful, and down right unbearable.

This time around was much better. It always is when you have a group of leaders. I personally think a group of leaders is necessary for endgame leadership in mmorpgs. I’ve experienced first hand how tough it is to try and balance everything out alone.

Anyways, moving on. I quit playing FFXIV only because of real life circumstances. The last few months I played was spent trying to level up crafting and gathering jobs. Which, to be honest, were pretty boring for me. It was more enjoyable to level those with friends, like everything else, but not many people were leveling them.

The linkshell I was in moved on without me, just like I would have wanted them to do. They didn’t have to ask, but I always planned to return pretty soon. Life had other plans for me, I never got the chance to come back.

Now, the game has changed, it’s basically a brand new beginning. I’ve decided it’s time for me to do something different. I won’t be returning to my former server (Hyperion) … The linkshell I was in has moved on, they merged into another group, etc. It would just be awkward for me to try and return. I’m not really looking to jump right back into hardcore endgame either. So much has changed, it hasn’t been made clear if I’ll be able to experience the new story with my current character. That matters to me, I want to experience everything new the game has to offer. If that means having to make an all new secondary character to play as, I’ll be doing just that.

Regardless of what happens with that, I plan to take up one of the new jobs, and level it up. I want to experience how leveling up to the cap plays out in the new FFXIV. As you can see, I’m in no hurry to return to stressful endgame play. Now, I won’t mind doing some endgame related stuff, but nothing that requires an extreme form of dedication. I just don’t have the time for that right now.

I’ve decided to transfer servers. I’ll be playing on Sargatanas. I plan to sorta ease my way back into the game. It’s all changed so much, lots of it is new even to a veteran player. I’ve experienced as much with my limited time playing the beta.

If anyone is interested in playing XIV with me, that’s the server I’ll be on. Sargatanas. Obviously, the choice is up to you server wise. I’d love to get a chance to play with all of you.

I will most likely create a linkshell. If I don’t, one of my close friends will create one. I’ll most likely hang out in that linkshell. It will be social, but that doesn’t mean we won’t do things.

Yes, I’m a legacy player, one of my real life friends is as well. I don’t really care about that, I do care about being able to use my experience and character to help others. Rest assured, whatever linkshell I’m in will be about that. If it isn’t, I won’t stay. I’m not one of those people who abandons friends, or ignores people because they aren’t my level or whatever.

Sorry about all of this text lol… I just started typing and ended up with all of this. Please respond if you have questions, or even if you don’t have questions. Thanks for reading.

Edit : What server does everyone plan to play on when 14 launches?

    • Kobracon

Assuming the beta characters will be wiped, I’ll definitely be joining Sargatanas then. Currently I picked Gilgamesh purely coz of the name :P

      • Pyrofrost

Phase 3 data will be wiped; however, Phase 4 (open beta) data will carry-over into retail unless there is some unforeseen issue that calls for another data wipe. These chances are very low though. So it’s up to you how to play during open beta.
As for me, I will be playing as if was retail. Though I plan to hit my crafting and gathering hard early on. As far as classes go, as of now I am torn between Gladiator (Paladin) and Archer (Bard).

        • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I think you just need to decide. Do you want to tank or play from a distance?

Just figure that out. If you want to do both, go with the class you enjoy just a tad bit more, then work on taking up the other one next. =)

FFXIV is a game where having multiple classes leveled up is very beneficial. Some of the abilities can be used on all classes. (Example = Second Wind from PUG/MNK.)

Having an ability that heals without using mp is very nice. The TB boosting invigorate from lnc/drg is also very nice. etc.

          • Pyrofrost

Agreed Zero, and I will have my choice made by the start of Phase 4.

Every play period, I’ve basically been taking a couple of classes and playing the hell out of them to see what I will gravitate to the most. The difference in this game and FFXI, which is creating a bit more trouble for me, is the fact that I am finding every class fun as hell to play. In FFXI this wasn’t the case, as I found some classes simply not fun.
*In FFXI I played COR, DRG, SAM, THF, DNC, DRK, RNG, BLM, WHM, and SCH.

I’m also one of those OCD do-it-all players, especially when I am happy with a game. So, I plan to level up every class I’ve played with so far.
The ones I have yet to try are Pugilist, Conjurer, Lancer, and (of course) Arcanist.

But yeah, like you said, I need to make a decision on my first main class. Which I will make sure to do :3

            • Kobracon

I am quite enjoying the Pugilist. It’s quite spammy in terms of combo skills but its interesting nonetheless.

              • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I always liked Pug. It was the second class I decided to level up. Lancer was my starting class. (In version 1.0)

              • Pyrofrost

Indeed, things are pretty spammy, but I do like the fact that it’s more active early on than FFXI.

            • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

OCD do-it-all players, eh? Add me to the list, lol.

Yeah, I agree, all of the classes are pretty fun in XIV. I got stuck playing main healer a bunch, which I usually hate. It wasn’t so bad in XIV though.

My last few months of XIV version 1.0 was all main heal lol. I didn’t even have that great of gear or anything, having experience and survive-ability is more important.

Understanding how each class is going to play is pretty crucial for a healer. It’s much easier when you have played these classes extensively.

The key was having useful skills from those other jobs.

Back before they started to change Archer to be more support based. It was the strongest class in XIV. If you knew just how to play it, you could solo almost anything.

For a challenge, I soloed a LV 69 mini Dragon thing one time on Archer. If he would have hit me once I would have died. xD

I don’t imagine you can still do that with Archer/Bard. I’d have to play around and test it out. Something to look forward to I suppose. =P

              • Pyrofrost

My understanding of Class/Job system in this game atm is that Classes (ie: Archer, Pug, Con) are meant more for solo play, and Jobs (ie: Bard, PLD, WHM) are meant more for party play. However, I will have to actually experiment with this once I move into Phase 4.

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

        Cool. =)

    • Pyrofrost

First off, I want to say that I absolutely love this game.

It’s sad to see that you’re leaving Hyperion though. That’s actually where I am planning to go. Lot’s of my FFXI buddies will be there and some RL friends. However, I will also be sticking a character on a non-legacy server, Gilgamesh. I plan to play around on both for 2~3 months to see which one provides me with an overall better experience.
No server choice is set-in-stone for me. If I find myself not happy where I’m at, I really have no problem moving. So I could find myself on Sargatanas. With the BlueGartr infestation on Hyperion, who the hell knows at this point.

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

BG is going to Hyperion? That’s news to me. I haven’t been keeping up with it as much I suppose.

That’s another reason for me to move. It’s going to be tough to do endgame stuff with all the super hardcore linkshells playing on the same server. I experienced this in FFXI, I bet you did too.

BG is very hardcore. They tackle new stuff when it comes out until they beat it. I think they went like 48 hours straight when the Ifrit battle was put into version 1.0.

I was part of a few of the hardcore linkshells on Hyperion. It goes back to before they changed the name, I was on the Trabia server, which eventually became Hyperion. They combined it with another server and named it Hyperion.

We would go pretty hardcore at what content the game had. I had more fun when I was helping out others. I didn’t like how winning teams would be picked and others would be left out of the fun. I’m also not cool with people going ape shit when someone makes a small mistakes.

That’s just not fun for me. I’d almost recommend staying away from any server BG picks. I think any server they pick is going to be very legacy focused. Especially with the economy and stuff.

        • Pyrofrost

Well, they are somewhat spread across Legacy, with a concentration of them on Excalibur and Hyperion.
You’re right about them though. I played for 3 months on Ragnarok on FFXI, dealing with them was a pain in the ass. Any time I have dealt with one of them, they want to control every aspect of how people play.

          • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

I never actually played with them or anything. I just know how hardcore BG is. I’m not personally looking to be on a hardcore server. If BG is on the server, it’s going to be hardcore.

            • Pyrofrost

From what I gather, one of their core groups (Order of Blue Gartr) is on Excalibur, with other pockets on Hyperion. Then the rest seem to be very thinly dispersed.
Sargatanas, is in the clear as far as I know though. So you’re safe with your choice. :D

    • Charlottes Guardian

I always pictured myself in the Leviathin server, but the Sargatanas works too ;D A scrub like me sure could use the help and someone to play with, I’ve been alone all 3 beta weekends and I don’t think that’l change after launch T.T Worst part is, I’m the kinda guy that likes to heal others and be more of a support, so leveling a white mage alone kinda becomes a chore. But anyways, I’m still having fun, and I hope to see you in game! I played GW2 which was easy to understand, but FFIV is a whole nother’ beast. I need all the help I can get lol

      • http://twitter.com/kazumalynx Zero

Trying to solo as a healer is pretty tough. I hope we can play together pretty soon. I haven’t had much time for the beta I hate to say. =/

      • Pyrofrost

Not to worry, once you start doing dungeon, guildhest, or anything involving a group, you will have no problems getting a spot. Tanks and heals will always be very “in demand.”

Right now we only have access to a fraction of the game, and one of those things that we don’t currently have access to is the “Duty Finder.” We will have access to that during Phase 4.

  • OverlordZetta

Odd request, but are there any decent PSP/PS1/PSV/PS3 games on the US PS Store with tons of dragons in them? I’ve got this itch that I just can’t scratch with MH and Hoard alone.

    • Charlottes Guardian

      That name. Too godlike.

    • Guest

I would say Phantasy Star Portable 2 but that one was taken off the PS Store about a year ago or so. Both that and Phantasy Star Portable had buttload of dragons of kinds.

    • Belenger

Dungeons and Dragons shadow over mystara >_>, came recently as an HD port for PS360, tons of dragons… Odin sphere?.

  • りんごタルト@エスカのアトリエ

I was playing FFXIV ARR and I think I want to dish out cash for this game just to play as a Miqo’te.

  • Willgaea

    1. Fun Factor

    2. Controls

    3. Co-op
    4. Replay Value (content)

    5. Story
    6. Graphics
The worst thing I hate about a game is lag and loading screens. I only fear that the Next gen consoles don’t push it to hard where it starts crashing (I’m looking at you black flag/ BF4 and crimson saga. As long as a game is easy on the eyes I could care less. I didn’t think I’d put story so low on the list but “The Saints” ruined me. The story was so crazy and I enjoyed it so much that I wish more companies would have fun making a game like they did. I love games.

    Anyone have a different list?

  • りんごタルト@エスカのアトリエ

Just a heads up, Atelier Escha & Logy will have Pirate Escha and Fox Tail Logy as DLC. Thanks, Famitsu! http://t.co/1H5YCv8dmw

  • LastBoss

Gematsu, on your next discussion you should headline what does gaming mean for YOU.

  • MosquitoLemon

So Warship Gunner 2 was released on PSN a few days ago. It’s listed under ‘PSN Games’ rather than ‘Classics’. I have no idea why they did it that way, but my god, if you like Michael Bay movies (explosions, military nonsense, blowing things up, machines of war, etc.) and action games, there is no reason not to get this for 10 bucks.

Seriously, I’d never think about getting rid of my PS2, but this is a step in the right direction….

  • bloodiOS

So I was browsing around randomly earlier and happened upon a Kickstarter project called Project Sweat and decided to check it out, since it sounds somewhat arousing…Anyway, apparently it turned out to be a 2D APRG that draws influence from games like Ninja Gaiden, Suikoden, and Chrono Cross. It’s uses hand-draw sprites instead of 3D models and man, those sprites looks pretty darn good.So yeah, go check it out and see if you’ll like it (and back it up while you’re at it):

Thanks for posting this Bloodios. 45 000 pounds to get this on consoles/vita? Hmm time to potentially toss our more money.

    • LastBoss

That’s some beautiful sprite, KOF style!!!

  • bloodiOS

Ahem. So, I just watched episode 13 of the second season of Oreimo today and man, it lit a huge pillar of fire under my ass. Anyway, fueled by my newly realized utter hatred for a certain character, I went around and did some research on her, mainly about the sorts of foul plays she committed in the novels.

Now, I finally came to the conclusion that Manami Tamura is biggest, foulest cunt in the whole Oreimo universe. The bitch will go straight down my shit list, all the way to level of diarrhea shit, where a shitty cunt like her belongs. I can’t believe I once thought she was cute… ugh…

Well, now all of sudden that one doujinshi suddenly seems very satisfying to me, so I will now proceed to read it several times to sooth my rage…

  • McPoo

    Hi everybody

I was wondering if you’d be able to give me some help – I’m looking at getting a pair of wireless headphones/headset, and am looking for suggestions. Ideally I’d like something that can double as a headset for both 360 and PS3, but having a quick Google I can’t seem to find much that fits the criteria, so if anyone has any suggestions then I’m all ears. Nothing too upmarket, I’m not made of money. RRP of £100 really, then I can always try and find it cheaper.

    Thankies! xox

New PAs that will be on PSO2 JP on Episode 2 while we are not even started Beta yet.

Seriously, SEGA… It’s just painful at this point…

    • LordKaiser

It seems the video was taken out.. No mater as I’m certain that SEGA will release the official 1 soon.
