The game Rare fans have been asking for.

Double Helix is developing a new entry in Rare’s Killer Instinct franchise for Xbox One, Microsoft confirmed during its Xbox One press conference.

The oft-requested fighting game series returns after nearly a decade of missing in action. It will offer “robust progression and rewards, dynamic challenges customized to player behavior, and predictive matchmaking for seamless competitive fights.” Confirmed fighters include Jago, Sabrewulf, and Glacius.

A release date was not announced.

    Holy shit!!

    Still not buying though

Why? Fighting games are dry and its been too long plus Rare is dead.

I was really excited to see this, but alas it’s an Xbox One exclusive.
It was pretty obvious that it was an early build as well.

Still, looking forward to seeing more, it deserves to be a good game.
But, it also deserves to be on PS4

The one game for Xbone that I truly envy not having (kinda want Dead Rising 3 as well, but that one dont hurt as bad).

  • King-Prodigy-X

This was a huge surprise. Finally.

Microsoft REALLY needed its own fighting franchise and this doesn’t look bad at all.
*sigh*, it’s just the console and its restrictions that I’m worried about. Without them, I’d most likely get the thing, but as things are, no thanks.

    • KnifeAndFork

Yeah….not buying a restrictive console just for one exclusive. Think I’ll be fine with Tekken X SF, Jojo, and Project VS J

This was good! Could have done the demo without the rape joke though.

    • Zero

Agreed. That was really disturbing imo.

Possible correction: The game is being developed by Double Helix, supposedly with input from Rare.

  • LastBoss

Plays like Street Fighter IV, with a Mortal Kombat darkness.

  • Elvick

I knew it’d be this. I played the crap out of KI on SNES, but I can’t really get excited for this.
